I’ve been here several times. Mostly get the rib tips. Sometimes there on point & sometimes not. Today I got my mom some rib tips and she noticed they are giving less & less! I got the Turkey leg special and had to take it back because it was too dry. Got back home & the second turkey leg was dry as well! Inconsistency is there biggest problem. Not sue if I’m going back!!!

Straight up, legit… The BEST burnt ends I have ever had. The fries, and the burnt ends was one of my favorite meals ever.

This place was delicious… We ate in the dining area instead of getting to go like everyone else. Got our food quick and fries were fresh and hot. Def will be back.

This is one of the best BBQ joints in KC. Absolutely love the food. The staff is friendly. My only complaint is they never give me enough sauce. My wife says its the perfect amount, but I like alot of sauce. Hand cut fries, awsome beans, onion rings were great. I ate here four times before reviewing and it was consistently good. I have heard the one in Raytown isn’t as good but haven’t tried it.

Went to Big T’s for the first time Thursday and ordered a double decker beef sandwich and fries. The brisket was piled high and was very tender and had a pronounced smoke ring. I REALLY enjoyed the sauce… I mean REALLY enjoyed the sauce. The fries are fresh-cut but could have cooked a little longer. The service was fine and the joint itself is nothing spectacular. I need more of the sauce !

Ordered Short end and fries. The rib were not the right cut. Bread was soggy and wet. Good locations but I would rather next time I think of BBQ drive pass them. I had Gates or Jack Stacks on my mind but that was out of the way. The staff that served me were not the most friendly though I was greeted by a lady that did say hello when I cam in the door. good enough to pass it by unless I am real hungry or someone else is buying. Too pricey .

I’ve been to Big T’s at least 10 times for lunch since starting a new job nearby about a year ago. I have had the sliced brisket sandwich a couple of times but usually get the sliced pork sandwich and fries. The pork has a great smoke taste, is very tender, and is served on a basic white deli bun. Their sauce is a thin vinegar type but without a strong vinegar taste, it goes great with the sandwich. Fries are kitchen cut and fried crisp on the outside and tender inside. Haven’t tried any other sides. Nothing fancy about the place but it is a classic KC type of BBQ joint, the pit is right behind the counter and some dude, maybe Big T, slicing and chopping meat for the orders.
This place is my favorite for sliced BBQ pork sandwiches in KC and one of my favorites overall. Give them a try.

Really good old school BBQ. My buddy and I always get a slab dry, let the meat speak for itself! Sauce is good, fries are good. Burnt ends as they are supposed to be. The only thing I need is a good cold beer. No beer!

Drove across town to try Big T’s so I could check it off my BBQ list, on the way I was hoping it might be closed for some reason just so I could go to LC’s up the street — one of my faves; but so glad they were open! Had the rib plate with 4 bones. Damn fine; smoked well and drizzled in a sweet smoky sauce. Fries seem to be house cut, great mixture of soft potato innards and crispy exterior,. Cole slaw — creamy but probably mass produced — meh. buddy had the double decker with ham and beef — HUGE! Really enjoyed the environment, walk up to order with the smoker pit right in front of you, dining area is cozy and clean with old KC sports memorabilia hanging around — Pictures of the KC Kings! Definitely going on my repeat rotation list.

Husband brought home an order of BBQ from Mr. T’s yesterday. The order consisted of rib tips and a long end of ribs along with fries. We frequently patronize this restaurant and this the most delicious sample of their BBQ that we have ever had. Given the quality, texture and favor of the meat, we would both give them 5 star review but would give them a higher review if allowed. No need to say… We will be back.

I have driven past Big T’s numerous times going to LC’s. I finally made it my business to patronize this establishment. I want to say Big T’s is legit! The real BBQ feel… smoker in the restaurant… open the pit door and the smell of hickory smoke… what’s not to love. This place is a dive! A bonus in my book! The ladies at the front are sweethearts and that goes a long way. I will return… NODOUBT! I had burnt ends and beef sausage sandwich with fries. The burnt ends had tons of flavor and tasty bark… they were moist and just down right scrumptious! The beef sausage sandwich was good… I just think it might have been better with the sauce on it already. The fries were piping hot… tasty. crispy…A+ Burnt ends 8.75 beef sausage sandwich 7.25 Fries 9.5

LCs was backed up out the door so I decided to give Big Ts one more try. Same story, This time PA system in the drive thru is outdated and basically broke. The lady in drive thru couldn’t hear my order or the people in the car behind me. I order the dbl decker combo 2 meats no side had to add beans. Beans were soupy didn’t seem cooked enough. Also add a large drink for 14 bucks. TOO pricey for me. They’re not getting any more of my money. I’ll just wait it out in line at LCs.

I was home for the holidays and I usually hit LC’s but it was closed up for some reason and we went to Big T’s, which is right down the street. I’ve been tempted to try this place for ages so this was the opportunity. The service was very friendly and the smoker’s right there was you walk in. It smells AMAZING in here! I got a burnt ends sandwich and fries and enjoyed them very much, although my heart is still with LC’s.

The first thing we noticed is lots and lots of flies buzzing around the kitchen, but we soldiered on. I got the combo plate of burnt ends and ribs. About half of the burnt ends were really tender, the other half very stringy, hard and dry. All of them were very greasy. Not sure how you get greasy burnt ends, maybe by reheating leftovers? That makes sense for the hard, dry parts as well. The ribs were OK. They were tender but didn’t have much meat on them. Maybe a cheap cut? I really liked their potato salad. The beans were meh. The fries are not the type I like, too thick and not much flavor. We settled for this place when the one down the road was too packed. Doubt we come back.

Good, good meat. What else matters in a BBQ review? Oh okay, I also noted that the service is seriously friendly(no one yells at you when you walk in the door) — prices are very reasonable — and the seating area, although a little dated, was neat and clean. They also have a drive-thru, if you’re on the fly. Great fries! The sauce is pretty legit, too, but I didn’t even get around to trying it until I was three-quarters of the way done with my meal — that’s how good the ‘cue is. The neighborhood isn’t exactly the sharpest, but I didn’t feel unsafe there or anything — and I’m a white girl from the JoCo ‘burbs. One complaint — No red cream soda! That just ain’t right for a BBQ joint.

Well… On my attempt to cross off all bbq establishments in the known area, I came across big t’s I requested the burnt ends sandwich… Lots if food, meat nicely cooked– just not a fan of the sauce. It’s between vinegar and sweet. I liked the fries and the atmosphere was laid back. I’ll have to try a straight beef brisket sometime…

Flavor. In spades. Big T’s really knows how to pack it into their meats and my lunch pal and I both agreed, one of the better new BBQ joints we’ve tried in a long time. Excellent. Worthy of the moniker of one of Kansas City’s very fine smokehouses. I ‘m not sure how they’re doing it but their ribs and beef seem to pack just a bit more savory & smokey flavor than most other BBQ smokehouses in KC. The ribs were simply delicious and packed with smoke, just enough salt and a sauce that’s immediately one of our favorites. Hint of sweetness, plenty of smoke, salty, bits of celery salt and nicely balanced the meat. The beans… I’m trying to think of someone else in town that’s doing them *better* and am not coming up with anyone. The fries are very good with just a hint of crunch and plenty of flavor as well. No complaints, but there are better BBQ fries in the city. So why only four stars? The ribs were just a tad too far on the tough side of things. Assuming maybe it was because they sat too long. Tough on the outside, savory and soft inside. But what a taste they were even with that. The bread which was apparently not your stock Wonder Bread also appeared to be a day past its prime. I’ll usually eat a grease, meat and sauce stained piece of bread but passed on this one. Have to say our expectations here were exceeded. Good crowd at lunch, plenty of parking in their dedicated lot and just enough of a «joint» feel to make this joint happy guy smile. Value for the food, very good. Long end slab was $ 12.45 and luckily I had a friend along with a huge appetite who had at least three ribs allowing me to finish my plate. Takes some kahunas to open a place just a stone’s throw from legendary LC’s just down the road 500 yards but Big T’s can stand on their own just fine. We’ll definitely be back.

This is a legit BBQ joint! Being in the area I was going to stop at the other place up the street, but there wasn’t anywhere close to park. Being topless and having the pug with me, I wasn’t to thrilled with that idea. I drove on down the street and noticed Big T’s with a drive thru, perfect! As I placed my order at the speaker, as usual, the pug also announced his order. We ended up with a combo sandwich with pork and beef that came with fries. Price was right, less than $ 8. The meat was wonderful. Nice and tender with a great smokey taste. The sandwich had the perfect slathering of bbq sauce. Enough for a taste, but not drowning the delicious smokiness of the meat. The sauce ranks as a favorite. Not too sweet and a hint of heat. I would have liked the meat piled a little more, but overall you will be happy with a sandwich here. I only had a couple of fries, but they were pretty good. A little more crunch on them would be nice. They were perfect size for some good meaty texture. They are skin on which all fries should be! Service was friendly and quick. I was disappointed sausage wasn’t an option on the sandwich as I am on a quest to find the best sausage at bbq joints.
