Christensen Orthodontics

After having had several orthodontic experiences in our family, «Meh. I’ve experienced better» aptly sums it up. This office does good orthodontia work, the office is in a convenient location, the front desk employees are very cheerful BUT I would highly recommend having everything, regarding treatment times and fees, spelled out in writing to benefit you as the patient.
Have payment plans spelled out. (Too many comments to type out.) What are the payment deadlines? What is considered «late»? Is there a late fee attached? What if you were told paying _​_​_​twice a month was acceptable? I wished several times, in dealing with the office, that I had taken more notes on who I spoke with and exactly what was said.
Have treatment time and fees spelled to the absolute detail. What happens when an appliance comes off several times (due to not being correctly fitted on tooth), treatment time is lost and time must be taken from your schedule to take the child to the office for repairs? Is a credit given to your account? Is official treatment time extended and documented? What happens if treatment extends over the projected time frame?
Doctor Christensen is very friendly on the «tour and sign» appointment, but that is the last time, as a parent and paying customer, I ever saw him in the office. We have used other physicians and orthodontists who visited with us after each child’s appointment and I definitely missed that with this office. There are times, particularly when treatment was going way over the projection, that I asked to see the doctor and hear (first hand) what his thoughts were but that was not allowed. I understand that offices are busy, but I like to hear what he/​she has to say personally.

Our treatment from the staff at this location has been far above what you could expect at an orthodontics office. No matter what is going on with myself (even though I am not getting treatment) or with my daughter the staff, from the front office to the back office, the assistants & the Dr. as well, have made us feel like family & that they truly care about you; I can really appreciate that.
Christensen Ortho was not the most reasonable priced ortho treatment plan nor were they on my insurance but because of the «total package», i.e. professionalism, staff treatment, atmosphere, & communication I made the decision to use this office. The pricing here compared to other orthodontics within the area was about mid-​range.
Scheduling practices: because this Dr. has two locations depending on where you live scheduling can be extremely easy. We have not had any scheduling conflicts & when we needed to get in pretty quickly they always found a way to get us in.

My daughter got her braces from here & so far so good. The staff is awesome. The facility is nice & welcoming.
My daughter has a complicated case but Dr. Christensen is understanding & explains things to me, which I love.
The points program is a good incentive for the kids to earn prizes by brushing, etc.
