I forgot to review this place when the incident happened. My last stay here in September of last year, the front desk agent was such a rude person! I locked myself out of the room and was lost getting to the front desk, so I asked the first person I saw who worked there how to get to it. She turned out to be the front desk agent just walking around. She just pointed in a direction and had a mean, unhappy look on her face, didn’t say a word. When I got there she came afterwards and said«What do you want?» LIKEEXCUSEME, MAM? I was in such disbelief how a front desk agent can talk to their guests. Besides that incident, I like the rooms. They are modern and clean. It’s next door to a Wendy’s which is convenient if you’re in a rush to somewhere and don’t have much time to sit down and eat.

Really convenient location right next to the highway. If I were a Royals or Chiefs fan this would be the place I’d stay at. The staff was very nice, especially to my dog, which I know he appreciated. The room was very nice, especially the price.

I must first caveat that I did not pay for my stay at the Drury Inn, so this may contribute to my lust towards this place a little bit. I was put up here by Delta(I know, first mistake) after having delayed my flight 6 hours, then cancelling it. Anywhoodles, here are all the reasons Drury earned my 4 stars: –They are troopers: despite having several vans full of angry Delta customers and people making Dreary Drury jokes, the staff was understanding and sympathetic with our situation. –They are family-owned: this really came through in the quality of staff and service. The van drivers were doubling up as receptionists and did it all with a smile on their face and a skip in their step. –One star removed: the reason I removed a star, is that the first room they gave us literally smelled like someone took a dump, then placed it in the air vent. Let’s get back to why I gave them four stars… –Turd room makegood– Without hesitation, they upgraded us to a sweet suite after the turd debacle. –Pool: No hotel stay is complete without a indoor/outdoor pool and spa. Long story short– I’d stay here again, and most likely pay for it!

When traveling on a budget, I highly recommend staying at a Drury Hotel. — Very affordable for the quality! — I forgot her name but the front desk lady was extremely friendly and welcoming. — Very close to Kansas City airport. — PET-FRIENDLY. This was very important to me because I was traveling with my cat. — NOPETFEES! Other hotels in the area were all charging $ 50! — They offer free dinners for guests, but I did not get to check it out because I got there late. — Free breakfast… hot breakfast! They had bagels, muffins, donuts, scrambled eggs, potatoes, waffle makers, and many drink options. — Their showers come with shampoo, body wash and conditioner dispensers which I thought was neat. — You can check out a bit late for no additional fees.

Thanks to snowmageddon, this place offered one of the last available hotel rooms in the area. Given the outside conditions and my desperate desire to get off the road and into a bed, I wasn’t about to be picky. The interior started off looking dark and dreary, but it grew on me and began to seem perfectly ok. The room was very large — much larger than other all suite hotels. Though, there was no kitchen area, which I expect from an all suite hotel. There was, however, a hidden, very small microwave and fridge. I did appreciate that there was an extra set of linens in the closet, tons of pillows on the bed, free wireless internet, and large flat-screen TVs in both the living room and bedroom. The desk, though, was quite small and the bathroom could definitely use some improvements. And, of course, being one of the last rooms available, it was a smoking room. Is an ash tray in the bathroom really necessary? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so many ash trays in one hotel room. And, unfortunately, it did very much smell like a smoking room. There were some amenities that I didn’t get to take advantage of that could warrant an extra star. Because I arrived so late and had to leave so early, I missed out on the free nightly dinner and drinks(free beer!) and free morning breakfast. Overall, I wouldn’t be adverse to staying here again.
