Why don’t I go here more often?! The food here is so yummy, and the staff is so lovely– polite & efficient. We had a fairly large order and they got it together like a well-oiled machine, each person working on a separate part so it was ready to go in just a few minutes. I ordered the Italian Chicken Panini, and it was delicious– like a Caprese salad(my fave) in sandwich form plus chicken and pepperoni. I really shouldn’t be writing this when I’m hungry, because it’s making me want another one right now! The coffee they served was so fresh and rich– just absolutely perfect. I also got bagels & cream cheese for my family for later, and everyone loved them.

There are not a lot of really good Bagels in Kansas City. But this place has them. This particular location has the full flavor range. In the Crown Center location you can’t get Onion Bagels, for instance. We went in for Nova Lox on Onion here, but they were out of Onion. We went with the Everything, and had a delicious brunch. Not quite New York but I understand that to be a water thing. I see others who posted bad reviews had service problems, but the service we received was above and beyond, a fantastic interchange. Just as we were leaving, the manager came out with two fresh from the oven Onion Bagels in a bag. They were steaming hot, and we left very happy. Give this location a shot!

I love Einstein’s, but this location is terrible! I(regrettably) went in today for the first time in 8 months… I was feeling hopeful, until I waited in line for 20 mins to order a bagel. There were 5 customers in front of me, and for the life of me have no idea WHY I stayed in line. Two people wound up leaving, and I just shook my head. The three employees were hot messes… I was thinking«maybe it’s everyone’s first day»!!! I paid the $ 3.00, and won’t ever go back. Word to the wise: go to the PV location or Panera…

Rude rude. They got my order wrong and my coffee didn’t taste like coffee. I can’t believe they have those girls serving. I have never been treated so rudely and I will never come back here. I was disgusted with how they treated me. They literally made me hate bagels.

I think I pretty much go there for entertainment from the chaos amongst the employees handling a small line of customers. When the line gets long, they just give up and lock the door. Actually saw that when they ran out of bagels at 10:00 since no one remembered to make more. Still enjoy the food but they’re always in need of better management and need to keep the trained employees around for a longer time. Seems like they’re new every week. Will keep going but place has work to do.

This particular establishment has real problems. My very simple order of a toasted bagel with cream cheese was prepared incorrectly. I actually expected this as I got the dreaded«I wish you would drop dead» stare from the person who took my order. I’m sure that she gave me a ton of spread(literally) on my untoasted bagel in hopes that I would drop dead of a heart attack.

I go here for one thing, mostly, the Nova Lox Bagel. Normally on a weekday when no one is around, I walk in order it, it looks fine, I pay and leave. Today this place was a hot mess. I stood in a short-ish line. I could hear that they were out of certain bagels. Indeed, many of the baskets were empty by 10:30 am when I was there. No, I could not get the Everything bagel like I wanted, so I subbed for an asiago. *sigh* I ordered coffee with my order, too. I paid at the register then waited for the bagel. I had to ask for my coffee cup. Being attentive would include making SURE I had my coffee so I could at least sip it while I waited(much too long) for the Lox. When I got my box with my Lox, I got in my car and peeked at it. It looked a mess. The cream cheese was very unevenly spread, the pieces of lox were super small slivers, the tomato slices were small and pale, the capers were rolling everywhere but on the bagel. Clearly the person who made it did not know how to layer the ingredients. one side had the tomato on top the other side had the lox on top. It’s OHSOCONFUSING, I guess. So for my $ 10, this was not a good deal. Management needs to get a grip and get real. I rarely blame the workers because it is only due to poor training that these things happen.

I go to this place almost every Friday morning on my way to work and used to love the greetings and service the waitress provided. But recently itseems like they changed their crew and service isn’t the same anymore. Sometimes the bagels come out burnt, or toasted well but with not enough spread on it, or sometimes not toasted but with loads of spread. Food isn’t consistent anymore and I don’t love this place as I used to… time to find another bagel store!

I really love Einstein. I wish there was one in a more convenient location to my house. I wish not so many people went there so I didn’t have to wait so long when I go. This one was BUSY. They dudes were rushing as much as they could. Some dummy said«I probably should have called, but I need 4 dozen bagels» yeah, you probably should have called. Anyway, they were flying around as fast as at all possible. Got my order right. Thought they got it wrong and chased me down to confirm(instead of saying, oh well, she’ll figure it out when she bites into it). Manager in the back, probably should have come out to help a little, but who knows what she was doing in the back. Maybe something time sensitive. Love those Asiago bagels with Garden Veggie schmear. MMMM.

I do enjoy Einstein’s bagels. Something about a place that focuses more on bagels and doesn’t take themselves too seriously(*ahem*panera*ahem*) makes me happy. However, this location only gets 3 stars for me because the service is always slower than dirt. I was there just this past weekend and there were two people behind the counter who didn’t know what in the world they were doing. One of the guys got my bagel thin stuck in the toaster and I spent 5 minutes watching him dig it out. I just don’t understand how making bagels and bagel sandwiches can take that long. But, the food is still good and I don’t hesitate to eat here; I just don’t go when I’m in any sort of hurry.

It is well-known that all Einstein’s in the city have piss-poor service. While they all look to be overstaffed, you can always be guaranteed to wait at least 10 minutes for a bagel. You will repeat your order numerous times, to several different people while shuffling along the counter, and, if you’re lucky, will end up with something close to your order after getting through the bottleneck of waiting customers near the register all clamoring for their bagel of choice to be barked out. Now, keep all of this in mind when I say that this location on State Line is BYFAR the worst. Now, let’s keep in mind that they primarily serve bagels and cream cheese. Some sandwiches are thrown in there, sure. A couple«fancy» coffee drinks. But primarily, just bagels. And cream cheese. That’s it. It doesn’t ask for much to be done to it. They have a machine to cut the bagel and a machine to toast the bagel, then it simply needs to be slathered in some sort of topping and served. Today, although I told 3 people we were eating at the restaurant, my bagel was still shoved into a little paper bag, smearing around the cream cheese that was oozing from its sloppily cut sides.(Mine didn’t get to make the journey through the cutting machine, but was instead brutally mangled by its caretaker.) I know, this is basically fast food and presentation isn’t top on the priority list, but when you basically only do ONE thing, shouldn’t that one thing be done well? After again repeating the order to the cashier and paying, we waited several more minutes before getting food and finding a seat. I then grabbed a handful of napkins to start cleaning up the mess that was my breakfast. And I opened up my bagel to find a scraggly hair firmly lodged in the cream cheese. Blech. I know it happens. We’re all human. But it always makes my skin crawl. So, I took it up to the counter, surprisingly calm, assuming that my worries would be met with some concern. Instead, I stood there with half a smeary bagel in my bare hand while the manager paid for her own meal and then proceeded to tell everyone what kind of cookies she was planning to make in her off time. Chocolate Oatmeal. Mmmm. Sounds good. BUTTHERE’S A HAIRINMYBAGEL!!! When they finally noticed me standing there, I politely showed them the problem. The manager’s response was, «oh.» Oh? OH??? Sigh. I waited another solid 8 minutes for my bagel to be remade(twice. The first remake was«burned.» By the machine whose sole job is to toast things. I don’t understand it either.) The cashier shoved a free bagel card at me. I then rejoined my family who were practically finished eating. It was disappointing to say the least. And this is coming from someone who knew the experience was going to be disappointing upon walking in the door. I just don’t get it. Will I go back to Einstein’s? Probably. Because there’s not many places to get a bagel around here. I can’t imagine it will be this location, but yes I will probably go back. I guess, knowing that, I deserve what I get.

I have nothing but good things to say about this Einstein Bros. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice! They always suggest something when I am in there, a great selection of bagels, the coffee is amazing! I am a coffee freak and I can always count on great coffee from there!

For some reason after 10 plus years I am still unable to refer to this establishment by the correct name and call it Bagel & Bagel. It’s an easy stop for me on the way into the office. Before 8am it’s fairly quiet and a quick in and out. The morning staff is always friendly and don’t seem to have a hard time getting your order correct. It is what you would expect, sandwiches made from bagels, some coffee cake/cookie options and soup. I am boring and usually get one of two things with each visit, the everything bagel with hummus or an egg white sandwich with asparagus and mushrooms, both are good. Overall it’s good, quick and easy. It’s Bagel & Bagel, err I mean Einstein Brothers, it is pretty much what you expect.

This review is more aimed at the wonderful service I received here although the bagel and coffee I had were also pretty tasty. Passing through Kansas City, the weather significantly worsened, and for this poor little tourist immediately assumed that the black swirling clouds and increased wind speeds equalled TORNADO, spiralling into a massive sensation of panic. After my motorcycle started to careen around at the will of the wind, I decided to pull off and find shelter until I could figure out what the deal with the abrupt weather change was. I picked the best spot to do so. As I stripped off all my bike gear and ordered my salmon bagel and vanilla soy latte, the GM offered for me to pull my bike into the patio area where it would have more shelter from the storm that was crashing around the city. They also gave me bin bags in a poor attempt to protect my already soaking luggage. The staff made me feel welcome as I sheltered from the storm and didn’t try to push me out of the door and in fact made me feel right at home. Really nice guys and I really appreciated their help that day.

Great bagels and even better coffee. Einstein bros constantly has a really tasty selection of bagel spreads as well. I personally like the honey almond spread. You can spread that on albatross booty and it would still taste good. Silky! ! ! !

I hate bagels. They are tastless unless toasted and topped. They do have Challah rolls and other breads, and there sandwiches have a couple of layers of flavor. They could be better, but they are still better than most sandwich shops.
