My wife and I stopped by this Gap this past Saturday while we were with family in Kansas City. This Gap is actually pretty good sized and they had an awesome sale going on, 40−50% off everything in the store. My wife and I picked up a couple extremely cute dresses for our baby girl, expecting in April. Everything was surprisingly somewhat organized,(extremely busy day), and the Baby Gap was easy to find. The cashier was extremely friendly and nice. Not too much more to ask for from her. Overall, this Gap seems to be well run and when my wife and I are in the area, we are definitely going to stop by again.

I mean. It’s GAP. We know what to expect. But I do end up here when I know exactly what I need and that thing is a basic wardrobe staple. This place gets extra points for me because they are near a parking garage on the plaza which typically has availability and there is almost always a check in special – often honored above and beyond whatever current sales they have. Also, I have lucked out with some work basics on the sale rack. It is also sizable, with baby stuff and maternity all in the same space, unlike when they were at Oak Park and all spread out.

I came in on Dec 1st at 5:30 and got the absolute best service ever! The young man and young lady working at that time were so helpful and nice! I did a return and an exchange from an online order and they did this with such ease and because of them I’ll be back to this location for sure!

GAP does alright with the basics. Get a hoody, some simple cheap shoes, plain jacket or something of the like for a decent price. It’s not GREAT though. The materials are standard. Their line isn’t consistently good. Their stuff is pretty boring and bland. They have a way of dumbing down trendy stuff that doesn’t just make it minimal it makes it meh. I’m not even sure why I’m reviewing a chain here… oh wait, i do. This popped up as one of the top places on the Plaza to go to. Please. No.

I don’t know when the Gap decided to start having the best sales EVER, but it seems like every time I walk in here, there’s some fantastic sale going on. I love this location especially because it seems like they keep a lot more in stock than mall locations. The people who work there are super nice and they think it’s funny when I get super excited about all my bargains. I love black. I love lightweight knits. Their jeans actually fit me(I’m a tough size, petite with a long waist… the waist has to hit just right or I get wicked muffin tops out of nowhere), they carry classic styles in fun colors like red corduroys or really punchy keds. I admit I’m getting older and my tastes are maturing(I’m almost 24), so more sustainable style excites me these days than Forever 21 used to, and Gap, this Gap in particular, is somewhere I look forward to going. I just swung in when I saw their 30% off sign(I knew I felt a purpose in waking up this rainy morning), and got 6 beautiful sweaters for under $ 55. Need I say more?

I admit I still don’t know how to dress for my age since I last reviewed this place, but I can say The Gap is still my «go to» place that works the best for me. Since my last review, this store has finished its construction and boy does it look sharp. It is sleek and much more sophisticated than any other Gap store I’ve ever been to. They changed everything in this store and it truly looks amazing. It feels like a much higher end store than the prices reflect. The service has been great the last couple of times that I’ve stepped in. I love the diversity of the sales team. I really feel a sense of pride for this store through its employees. Great selection(even though I wish the men’s department was bigger, but that’s a wish I have for most stores), great service and a great new look for the Plaza location.

I’ve read some people reviewing the Plaza saying that nothing there makes it better than any mall. Well obviously that is not true from the architecture, to the art and fountains, to the well planned public courtyards. One other thing that make it different is the FLAGSHIP locations of the Gap and Banana Republic. I have never seen a Gap as big as this one… it is 3 stories! The selection is great, and you can find stuff here they don’t sell at other Gaps.
