I would like to start off by saying that I love Imo’s Pizza. Being from the STL area it always reminds me of home. Unfortunately this has been our second bad experience at this location. We had to call three times to place out order, the first two times they placed us on hold for over a minute with out even greeting us, when they finally answered their phone phone they were not up to par with their customer service. Upon arrival I asked if they included the extra sauce that we asked for the woman at the counter was nice until I asked if they had included our extra sauce. She curtly replied«yes, it says extra sauce on your order.» When I arrived at home there indeed was not extra sauce. I normally wouldn’t mind a mistake like this, but after I asked about it and she responded in such an innapropriate way there had better be extra sauce. I understand that they are probably under paid, but that does not give them the excuse to act the way they did. It is not the way to receive a raise. I wish this could have been a good review, but they need to work on their customer service skills. Sarpino’s next time.

Pizza is good but customer service is awful. They forgot part of my order(cheese bread) and then offered to bring it back to me an hour later or they would credit my account for an order of cheese bread. My lunch break was already done by then. So I called 2 days later from work to have them deliver them and they said I needed to order at least $ 10 worth of food. I explained that THEY were the ones who messed up 2 days prior and had offered to bring back the cheese bread and someone else from my work was ordering from them and having it delivered so why couldn’t they simply bring my free cheese bread with them then since they’d a ready be here delivering another order. The manager was extremely rude and not grasping that the driver had already offered to re-deliver them 2 days ago so what was the difference now?

Ehh. I’ve tried tons of local pizza places, imos was my least favorite. I ordered delivery which arrived within the window they gave me. We had a large pepperoni and toasted ravioli and both were super bland and chewy. Tasted like american cheese slices with lunchable sauce, crust was soft and chewy. Maybe it’s better to eat there? Definitely wouldn’t recommend delivery or maybe imos pizza at all.

Extremely frustrating! I went to get pizza from the Westport location. I was near Westport and called to get a to go order at 9:30pm on a Wednesday night. No one answered the phone. I got to the store around 9:40pm. As I walked up to the store, an employee ran up to the door, locked it, and said we’re closed. When I asked why they were closing early, he just said we’re closed and walked off. I couldn’t believe this happened and I was pissed! I like Imo’s, but I WILLNEVERGOTOTHISLOCATIONAGAIN!!!

The cheese bites still frozen in the middle, pizza under cooled, ingredients low quality. First pizza I coulnd not eat until full. Left 80% on the table, not even take home. Not good.

Ordered pizza and wings delivered to hotel. I have had the wings in the past and loved them. This time however there was hardly any sauce. The pizza was okay. Wish it had been hotter. Also wish they’d think to give plates, napkins, etc to people who order from hotel. Expensive. Will probably order somewhere else next time. Have had better luck and experiences with Saripinos.

This cozy pizza place surpassed our expectations with customer service. We’ve always liked St Louis style pizza: the super thin crust and the Provel cheese, so on this rainy visit we were hankering after that special blend… plus they do the best toasted ravioli ever… The meat and spinach is always so fresh with a crunchy yet soft exterior. We ordered a lunch special(9 toasted ravioli and salad) and a large pizza. The cashier was sweet and pointed out the best deal. The pizza came out pretty quick, and was as yummy as remembered. Unfortunately we had almost finished it and had to ask them about the rest of our order, which finally arrived as we munched on the last pizza piece. When we had asked about it, someone said they were running behind and would check on it… A few minutes later, the manager came to our table, apologized and made it up to us with a discount. Now, that was unexpected and made us feel truly appreciated. We will come back soon and often!

After raving about how good Imo’s has been, I was super excited to find one on vacation with some family in KC. This is a small restaurant that maybe wasn’t the best to sit down and eat in. Lots of 4-person booths but only three tables big enough to seat a party of 6, and two of those three had clearly not been bussed in a while. That being said, the workers seemed pretty busy keeping up with phone orders, people walking in, etc. We got our cheese bread really quickly, and it was delicious. It took a little while to get our two pizzas, but they were well worth the wait. My family had never had the provel cheese before and it was definitely a hit. I’ve heard some of the branches of Imo’s can be hit-or-miss, so I was glad that this one lived up to my hype.

After living in St. Louis for several years, Imo’s became one of my favorite pizzas. The provel cheese, which is said to have originally started in St. Louis is a combination of cheddar, swiss and provolone. It’s kind of buttery and gooey, not so stretchy like mozzarella. It’s just a different kind of cheese and totally worth a try. At most pizza places I opt for a thicker crust, but with Imo’s you really want the thin, crispy crust. They’ll cut it into squares. I like how the square cut makes some sort of oblong triangles that have extra crackery pieces around the edges. All kinds of toppings to choose from, but my favorite pizza here: thin crust, sausage, onion, green pepper and sometimes mushrooms. Simple and OHSO good. Always friendly and clean at this location.

Pretty good but they stop answering the phone about an hour before they close, even though their website explicitly states a carryout order only takes 25 minutes. If you are going to stop answering the phone to take carryout orders an hour before you close, either extend the length of time you say a carryout will take, or close the store an hour earlier. I’ve worked in pizza shops and in retail. This is just embarrassingly lazy.

I loved this place when I used to visit St. Louis, and am happy that it is consistently just as great here as well! The delivery time was about 45−50min, but it usually always takes a long time for pizza deliveries in general so this place is about average on that. Love the Meat Pizza and the thin crust is always crunchy and amazing!

I almost feel like there’s no point in writing a review for Imo’s because you really just have to try it. Either you will love it, or you will hate it. There is an almost cult like following of those that fall on the«love» side of the debate. I am definitely of that following. For those of you who think you need a review before you will try it, here’s what you should know. The crust is thin. So thin it makes most pizza joints thin crust look like deep dish. The cheese is provel. It’s a St. Louis original and is a blend of processed provolone, Swiss, and cheddar cheeses. Taste wise it’s a little bit tangy and a whole lot creamy. As for toppings, they have the usuals. I think it’s best with no toppings, or if you must, only one topping. Anything more overwhelms the crust and provel, and that is a tragedy in my opinion. There are other crust and cheese options to get a more«normal» type of pizza, but I have never tried them, and I don’t think you should either. If you’re going to Imo’s, it should be to get an «Imo’s» pizza. After writing this, I don’t think there’s anyway I could not go get one right now. Yum!

Good, delicious, wonderful melts Provel! I always forget IMO’S is in Kansas City. Now it’s close enough to me that I can have it delivered. Our driver was friendly and efficient and the pizza and lasagna were piping hot when they arrived. Well worth the money spent.

Yep, I’m biased. I’m from the STL. It’s definitely a nice little slice of home for me everytime I eat here. PROVELCHEESE: CHECK TOASTEDRAVIOLI: CHECK that’s all I need… a pizza with provel cheese and some toasted raviolis and i’m set

I really like imo’s. Crust is super thin, good amount of toppings and provel cheese. I also really like the toasted ravioli.

I guess we’re not fans of St. Louis style pizza. The provel was pretty bad. I see why it hasn’t caught on in other states and is localized to St. Louis. The sauce… well…we got some on the side for our ravioli, and it tastes EXACTLY like chef boyardee. Which isn’t a horrible thing; it was at least nostalgic, but when you’re paying $ 25 for cheez whiz and chef boyardee flavors, you’re gonna have a bad time.

I tried this place in the early 90s in St. Louis and was not impressed. So, I’ve been here three times now since and I’m not sure what it is… I think it’s the sauce. I’m just not a big fan of the flavor. I order the meat lovers. I love the thin crust and there’s a ton of meat on the pie but, it just doesn’t do anything for me… I’m truly sorry because I wanted this to be my pizza place so I don’t have to do Pizza Hut. We don’t do Domino’s or Papa John’s. We prefer these smaller guys. What to do? Guess I’ll have to keep looking or make my own. Maybe I should try a different type of pizza?

The cheese is whats the main story here. Provel cheese is a tangy less viscous type of cheese. It is different to get used to but I think if you eat it enough youll become a fan. They say its a mix of mild cheddar, Swiss and Provolone. To me it is the same battle as miracle whip vs real mayonnaise. The pizza itself is good. Crust is not overly thick which I like. The toppings arent fresh, but it is what it is. I will say however I love pizza the next day… But the Provel cheese is NOT good the next day… It has a waxy plasticy texture and taste to it. Bleh! Good hot. No good cold.

3.5 stars Long story short: Nice little pizzeria with some pretty good pie and reasonable prices. Long story long: I’ve actually been here twice. The first time was last year, when some friends and I had gone ice skating at Crown Center Plaza. There was 10 of us, and so we shared 2 of their large pies as well as a couple orders of their breadsticks. All of that was about $ 45 and some change. The first one we got an extra large thin crust deluxe. The other we got an extra large thin crust all meat… or maybe it was just a bunch of toppings, including bacon. The guys working there were all really helpful and nice. As I said, for the 10 of us, it ended up being less than $ 50, including drinks for almost everybody and a couple orders of breadsticks. After about 10 minutes, the pizzas came out and we were split between two tables, so we decided one table would get one pizza, the other table the other pizza, and about half way, would switch. Both pizzas were good and I like the thin crust, not too thin, not too thick or chewy, and not burnt. The toppings were fresh and the sauce was not an ordinary tomato sauce. It was almost like an alfredo sauce. I forget what its called but it was actually quite good. And apparently instead of mozzarella, they use a cheese called Provel. It was a little different, but in a good way. The second time I came was with my girlfriend back at the beginning of this past summer. I had a groupon deal(that someone just gave me because they weren’t going to use it), so we took the liberty of taking a date night and came here again. We got a large deluxe and added bacon. Once again the pizza delivered and my girlfriend enjoyed it, even though she’s a little picky and picked off the onions and bell peppers. I would definitely come back here again. There’s supposedly a location a little closer in Overland Park, so I’ll have to check that out at some point.

I hated Imo’s pizza the first time I tried it because I expected something more… normal. It looked like D’Bronx but didn’t taste quite«right». It wasn’t that the pizza was bad, it was just different and I was kinda mad about it. First world problems all the way, kids! Since my gentleman friend loves their pizza we ordered it again. At $ 11 including tax for a large one topping carryout I couldn’t argue about the price and I was too tired to suggest something else. Well, something weird happened the second time I tried it. I… liked it. The provel cheese tastes sort of like white velveeta or cream cheese mixed in with mozzarella and the sauce they use is a little sweet. Yum! Maybe it appeals to my inner trailer trash queen? I can’t explain it but I like it. Caveat: I only order the pizza for carryout because it looks a little depressing in there. I don’t think I’d ever want to dine-in, but I’ll keep on orderin’ them there pies.
