Good not great. The service was super slow, but the people were nice. Wouldn’t be bad if you had the time to kill and pitcher while you waited for your burger to arrive. If you’re in a hurry don’t expect a speedy meal.

Ok, so color me surprised. I was in the area, saw the Unilocal reviews, and headed that direction. When I saw the outside, I was concerned. I’m not much of a bar fly, and it looked really sketchy from the outside. However, the staff were friendly and the burger lunch special was very good. The burger patty was good sized and seasoned well, with a great flavor. The«nanofries», which just means a small order of fries, were nice and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned well. $ 6 plus tax/tip is hard to beat for lunch!

We went to the green room before a improv show. The bartender was awesome he recommended the c prese burger. He gave it a rave review I believe he even said it was life changing. And he also recommended a side of the special aoli. So I will say I order it with the tots and I am a new woman it was life changing! Great atmosphere great staff great food and beer! What more could I ask for? Nothing it is simply the best!

Delicious burger and the house brews stood up well too. Casual and relaxed patio made for a great afternoon.

Worst service I have ever had. Came for a family’s birthday; worst experience ever! Do not go here!

These are the best burgers in KC. The specials are always good, the beer is great, especially the green room brew, the service leaves some to be desired but it’s made up for in the food. The burgers are great, never too greasy but juicy at the same time!

Two stars cuz they had trivia games. Food wise: burgers no taste at all. Nothing special. Interestingly, it was full of people! We waited 20 min for waiter to take our order.

The Crown Burger was insanely good, a perfect medium-rare as I ordered, with a ton of tangy blue cheese & a lovely onion ring on top. Service, sadly, was a bit haphazard, we were pretty much ignored until I asked someone to take our order. The vibe is divey, junk on the walls, and a lot of board & table games if you want to start something with your companions — we got a lot of entertainment value out of watching a neighboring table of middle-aged JoCo suburbanites get a bit rowdy with a cutthroat game of Jenga. Beer list is extensive, prices are pretty reasonable.

There were super busy. It took a long time to be acknowledged at the door. And our waiter took so long we couldn’t get the check. So we just dropped cash and left. It would not be so bad if you had nowhere to be and all day to get there. One could play cards or something. The drinks were interesting and good enough.

I’ve been to Green Room twice now and have not been impressed with the food, and have been overly let down with the service. The first time we tried Green Room was on a busy Friday night. The place was packed. Our waitress was super nice, but forgot to bring beers we had ordered. She ended up remembering after the meal and comp’ed them for us. She told us to not judge the place on this one night and to come back another time. So we did. We went there for a late lunch on a Sunday. We were greeted by the bartender, who mentioned that he was the only one working at the time. I ordered a draft beer and was told the keg was empty. It happens, but generally an alternative is offered. Not here. I asked if there was another wheat on tap and was told ‘no’, they didn’t even have boulevard wheat on tap, which is basically a sin in Kansas City. I ended up ordering a bottled beer(which wouldn’t show up until the check came). We ordered the nachos to start, and they left much to be desired. The pico de gallo did not taste fresh. We ordered the rest of our food(two burgers) and my boyfriend asked, «can I also get a milkshake?» the bartender just responded with, «eventually». I also asked if I could get my burger without pickles and was told that it comes as is. Remember that beer I ordered? It finally came after all the food was eaten and halfway through the dessert/milkshake. AND we were still charged for it. We weren’t even there long enough to finish it. The bartender made sure to tell us over and over that he was the only server on staff, but throughout the meal I started to notice that EVERYONE sitting at the bar were off-duty employees(they’d occasionally walk behind the bar or grab a phone call). So they were short-staffed, yet there were at least half a dozen employees just hanging out. The food was not even that great. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice and I never go back to Green Room Burgers.

Went here with my daughter. She had been before and liked it. We were greeted and seated promptly. She had an amber ale brewed in house(forgot the name) that was pretty darn good. Plus $ 2 for a draft is hard to beat. I ordered the Orion burger and she ordered the Crown. We both ordered the nanofries. The Orion is served with carmalized onions and mushrooms, Swiss cheese on a Pumpernickel bun. The Crown is served with bleu cheese, BBQ sauce, onion ring on a wheat bun. The food came out quickly, which should be the way. After all, burgers ain’t rocket science. Both burgers were hot and juicy… whoops, is that trademarked? Anyway, darn good burger. What sold it for me was, uh were, the fries. These aren’t those factory-fresh, golden brown sticks. These are hand-cut, floppy, dark brown and delicious. Basically the kind of fries I make at home so they must be great, right? Why not five stars? Well, shucks, I’m still waiting for the burger that is so good it makes me weep.

Every time I come here I try to try a new burger. So far the Pappy is my favorite. This place seems more like going to a family members house for family game night, and your cousins all brought the best beer they could find. Everyone is super polite. You’re never bored because there’s games EVERYWHERE and they usually have good movies on. Love this place!

Great Beer, great burger, and fantastic service. Great little place for a lunch date. It wasn’t too loud, but not too quiet either. If you’ve been thinking about going here… GO. It’s right by sunfresh in westport so it’s in most of our comfort zones. 10⁄10 would recommend.

So the cheesy brownfield burger was great and in my opinion way better than The Flea and the hand cut fries were super good as were the fried pickles. Food was a «5» and so was everyone in the place except the girl that we were lucky enough to have as pour server. She was rude from the minute we sat down and ordered water and no beers. Our water came with no ice so my wife asked for a glass of ice and she brought back a glass with about 10 cubes in it. She didn’t even try to redeem herself when she brought the bill for her tip. You do realize you work for tips? You do realize 20% on a couple beers is about 75% less than a tip on two burgers and an appetizer right? To make matters worse, we were the only people eating there. I didn’t omit a tip but tip to her is, it wasn’t the tip you would have gotten had you tried just a little.

I would definitely classify this place as divey but the food was decent as well. I have a soft spot for dives — i think it’s because I find that they generally have a more down-to-earth, unpretentious atmosphere and this holds true here. The staff was friendly and approachable, the food was good and the beer wasn’t half bad either. I tried some sort of burger with goat cheese on it — can’t remember what else was on it but I do remember that it was tasty. I also got to try some new-to-me beers, which is always a plus in my book. If you’re looking for a chill environment and a decent burger, Green Room is a solid option.

I came here for the Pitch Burger Week with some co-workers. $ 5 burger specials at different joints around town. Each location had a special burger creation just for the week. Green Room had the creatively named, «Pitch Burger». When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly woman that seemed to be doubling as bartender and a sever. Our service was very prompt even though it initially seemed as if they were understaffed. The vibe here is very chill, typical dive bar. I love that they have like a million board game options you can play. A server even told me that they have Cards Against Humanity behind the bar, but they need to have your license to rent it because it tends to get stolen. The Pitch Burger was delicious!!! It was two well seasoned patties, bacon, cheddar, an onion ring, onion, and house made beer mustard… I think that’s everything. The burger was a smörgåsbord of deliciousness and the fries were on point! So good! I’m anxious to come back and try some of their other burgers. They have tons of beer options! I didn’t get to partake since I didn’t wanna be skunk drunk at work, but I will next time! They have great lunch specials here, one for $ 6 which includes their basic burger and fries, and one that’s $ 12 that comes with any specialty burger, fries, and a soft drink or beer. Totally diggin’ that! Also they do Geeks Who Drink on Mondays at 8, definitely going to have to try that out soon! Overall, this is a pretty divey place with good burgers and good beer! I’ll be back!

Oh my oh my. Where do I start? First, I had the tour of KC that my hubby prepared. The man drove the streets like a native. He found this place AND my cousin put it on a list for us once he found out we wanted to go to local breweries. This was my absolute favorite spot that we went to – hands down. The area was totally cool. In a sense it reminds me of the Montrose area in Houston back in the day before the yuppies all moved in and destroyed most of the eclectic charm. Let’s put it this way, if I had to live in KC, I would certainly consider this area because it spoke to me and I would want this place to be my home bar. We were fortunate to meet a couple of locals. Nice as pie. The bartender was a total doll. Very friendly people. Major points for all the cool games. AND total kudos for the BATTLESTARGALACTICA game! I wanted to break out that bad boy but we had plans with my family. I cannot imagine visiting KC without visiting this establishment. Most definitely it is not a tourist spot. A sorta mixture of Rudz and the Harp to me(of which I know both owners). My dear friends, if you are making a journey to KC or you live there and have not yet stepped foot into this place, get off your butts and go there immediately. I think you will appreciate my prompt to do so. 100 Halley puppies throw back their heads and howl in glee!

If you want to go to Westport and not deal with the underage drunk girls, expensive drinks, and parking hell, The Green Room is your JAM. I came here randomly on Trivia Night and had an AWESOME time with great people and great beer. My reasoning for only leaving 3 stars was because my burger sucked. Granted, I got their basic bitch burger with almost nothing on it, but c’moooon. The entire thing was about the size of my fist. Meh. Very underwhelming. However this place is super cool and SUPER secluded. It is located in the connecting road been Sun Fresh and CharBar. If you love beer, you must come and sample some of their beer that they brew in house. I’ll be back to give it another shot, mainly for the beer though. Cheers!

Im extremely impressed by this place. Came in for the lunch special today due to the tractor beam sign«Beer tastes like freedom.» I also opted for the Real American Burger today too and wow was it good. It was a daily special burger and the only downside was it was hard to bite into because it was so loaded. Good problems to have if you are shooting for a good ol’ fashioned American heart attack. The in house robust porter, Abstergify, was extremely good. Not only was the in house beer delicious they also keep a couple of really nice beers on tap. This is, in my mind, what causes them to stand out. Most places carry a few generic beers on tap like Budweiser, Guinness, and the like. Not at Green Room. They carry only craft beers on tap and a nice spread of styles for every taste is available. The cherry on top for me was the nice close knit environment, the customers and staff all talk and share laughs about what’s on TV or anything that comes to mind. I came by myself and felt like I was hanging out with friends even though I probably won’t see most of these people again. If you are looking for a local nano brewer and amazing burger joint, look no further.

Let me start off by saying that I have only been here once and it was for a crowded trivia event so my experiences may not be typical. At least I’d hope not. I arrived very early(over an hour) to the trivia event with a small team. Two bartenders seemed very annoyed that we had a small team and even though there were about 10 tables open, they wouldn’t seat us until there was space at the bar. Annoying, but fair enough. But the bartenders could have been much less rude about it. Then, at the bar, one of the first bartenders was telling the guy sitting next to me how annoying it was that there was trivia because now the regular customers wouldn’t have a place to sit. OK, this trivia started at 3pm and ended at 5:30pm, well between lunch and dinner rushes. Also, hello, I can hear you. I ordered a shake(with booze), fried pickles, and a salad. The shake was good, though I ordered Kahlua and my receipt said vodka, and the menu said +$ 3 for alcohol but I was charged an extra $ 4(didn’t complain about that). The fried pickles were alright, but there was literally about a cup of batter crumbs at the bottom of my plate. The order was huge and I didn’t finish them, so I didn’t feel ripped off, but the presentation was awful. It looked like the pickles were nested in trash. The salad was fine but not interesting, though the vinaigrette dressing was basically just balsamic and nothing else. I also tried one of their house brewed beers, the cask ale. It was honestly one of the worst beers I’ve had. I’m not a beer snob, but I consider myself a beer fan, and this beer just had too many bad ideas. It was sour, but not sour enough to be a sour beer. It was bitter, but not an interesting bitter. It was overly seasoned. It was served at room temperature, which I’m sure was intentional, but it made all those bad flavors stand out more. There was a third person behind the bar who was much nicer than the other two, but he seemed a little absent minded. Service was a little slow, but it was so crowded, so that’s understandable. I’m disappointed because the bar had a very cool vibe when I walked in, but it just wasn’t as cool as it looked. With the surly staff and mediocre food, I will probably not ever go back, unless there’s another trivia I’m really interested in. EDIT ¾/15: The owner sent me a very respectful message apologizing for my experiences and addressing my concerns one by one and taking blame for errors on their part. I certainly appreciate them taking the time to contact me and apologize. If I ever find myself there again, I hope I have a better experience so I can update my review.
