Not sure if it was ‘Kansas City Barbeque’, but it certainly was barbeque in Kansas City.

Killer BBQ, great prices. Very sports bar feel. I love it! I get the kids brisket and am stuffed. My husband tries everything and always wants to come back. Their sauce is killer. Don’t be afraid to ask for extra pickle, those things set off the meat like crazy.

This was a huge disappointment! Turkey and cheddar was blah. The(powdered cheese) y corn was like yuck. Waited five minutes just to exchange for fries which came out undercooked in way too much salt! Leaving here hungry and annoyed I wasted my time. Back to the Arthur Bryants, Gates, or Jack Stacks for me

I had the Jon Russell, which is a sandwich with both burnt ends and sausage, with chipotle raspberry BBQ sauce. Also, I had a side of home fries, which they tossed in some grated parmesan. My wife had the Jammin’ Salmon, which is a sandwich with smoked salmon and spicy cole slaw. Both the sandwiches were really good. The fries were OK, but nothing outstanding. I also got to sample their award-winning chili, which didn’t impress me at all; instead of using some of their smoked brisket or burnt ends it uses ground beef. We were the only customers who stayed to eat in the dining room on a Tuesday night. Everyone else just got their orders for carry-out. The beer selection looked good, but I wasn’t in the mood for any.

Better than Jack Stack and no waiting! All the food is really good, awesome service, and relaxed atmosphere. Great for adults and families as well. They even serve beer!

A lesser known BBQ joint in KC that deserves some credit. Great BBQ and their pulled pork is killer!

Everyone has their favorite place for ribs, for burnt ends, for sliced meat, for beans, so on and so on. This place I believe is the best BBQ all around. Great friendly service and fantastic food. It may be a little over priced for the portions, but I love it too much to complain. Great salads for those watching their weight as well. Love the sauce options but I stick with the original. Enjoy.

Gluten free bread option! The potato wedges are the best fries in town. Great bbq at an excellent price. We now go here instead of jack stack or oky joes.

Great Q and sides at Jon Russell’s. I visited JR’s on a Saturday afternoon when it was not very busy at all. I had no idea what to order since this was my first trip. The counter person was very friendly and helpful. He guided me to a signature sandwich called the Jon Russell. I also decided on a side of potato-salad and a side of pit-beans. The pit-beans were a little looser than I like them to be, but were pretty good. They were slightly on the sweet side with bits of meat and red peppers(I believe). The sauce that I received was very sweet as well. As a personal preference I don’t enjoy sweet Q. The potato-salad was slightly under-seasoned with some(I’m guessing) paprika that gave the dish a slightly reddish tinge. My sandwich consisted of chopped burnt ends and sausage. Now the sausage was not my cup of tea. It lacked flavor, but what the sausage lacked, the burnt ends more than made up for.(This is a first for me. While I am writing this review my mouth is actually starting to water as I think about the burnt ends.) I couldn’t do these little nuggets of pillow soft flavor bombs justice in a review. All I can say is that they had a very nice rub and were cooked to perfection. So tender and so gersh dern good… I will be looking forward to visiting this one again.

One of my favorite places for bbq, especially the burntends. They have typical bbq fare and a lot of different sauces to try. They run specials from time to time and are always clean and friendly.
