KC Loft Central

I’ve lived in the EBT/​Soho South lofts for a year and recently renewed my lease for another year. I’ve had an excellent experience here! Since Day 1, Jessica and the office/​support staff have been extremely helpful and friendly. They make an effort to get to know the tenants and are always available for questions or issues. The building and grounds are kept up well and are very clean… Gary seems to work ²⁴⁄₇ to make this happen! The building is in a fantastic location, and it really feels like home. :)

I recently relocated to Kansas City from out of state and have been more than satisfied with my new loft in the EBT Lofts in the former warehouse for Emergy Byrd & Thayer. From the first call into Kansas CIty Loft Central I was able to set up appointments at four different buildings in one morning, and really explore the options that I could get within my budget. The staff members are all friendly and knowledgeable and put in the extra time to make it as smooth of a transition as possible.
After already working hard to ensure that my move in woudl happen at an expidited rate due to a rushed out of state move that had landed me in a suburban extended stay, Jessica stayed late to process the paperwork and give me the keys to my new place on move in day. This was in stark contrast to an experience I had wtih a more corporate feeling rental firm I had the previous week. The space is bright with insanely tall ceilings, really well laid out square footage and a massive walk in closet.
Just yesterday Jessica was able to go above and beyond again in helping coordinate allowing a friend to get int– Good human beings in the other units! o my apartment while I was out of town traveling for business. And I haven’t even gotten a chance to mention the great location, the packing pickup or the fact that every person I have met who lives in the builiding seems to be humans that I enjoy living around.
So I know that got insanely woordy so in short, here are the key take aways:
— Amazing space wtih great charictor
— Affordable pricing with washer and dryer hookups as well as a dishwasher
— Great staff that are willing to make it work even if it is less than convinient for them

I have lived in Soho lofts for more than 2 years and a year before in Library lofts. The decision I stayed with KC loft central operated properties was their very friendly and helpful staff. I have met so many great neighbors in Soho lofts. Any maintenance requests are handled in timely manner. And the Library district/​Garment district is fantastic neighborhood to live in at affordable rent. Everything you need is walkable distance.

I have lived in Soho West Loft Apartments for the past two years.
The leasing office is great. The people who work there are friendly. I know all my neighbors and feel safe in the building. There’s a cop that drives around the block every hour. Walking distance within River Market and Crossroads districts for artsy things/​the farmer’s market.
I’ve had a few maintenance issues, but they’ve all been resolved within 48 hours. I also occasionally fall asleep to jazz music, since The Phoenix is right next door.

Awesome Group ! I rented from them for nearly 8 years after moving to KC with Cerner. My last residence was at the Board of Trade Lofts. Shanna B and the staff are awesome ! After a crucial move out due to retirement and no show of movers, they went above and beyond to assist me in every possible way !! I will truly miss their kindness and understanding. Thanks again Shanna and KCLoftCentral !!

The best decision I ever made was purchasing a unit at 308 West 8^th Street in downtown Kansas City! I’ve made so many great friends, the staff is great, and I absolutely love living in downtown!

I have lived in Library Lofts/​Board of Trade Building for going on 7 years! The location is awesome, you can walk to the River Market, P&L, and Crossroads all within a five minute walk. The entire neighborhood is beautiful and fun! The staff is very responsive and helpful, you hear many horror stories online but I have never had any problems at all! Within a few months you will know everyones name!
All my handy-​man issues have been resloved within 24 hours or less. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure the building is safe and clean, all while being very friendly! I have been in a lot of loft buildings downtown and I believe our amenties and lobby is by far one of the best. The building is a great mix of peolpe of all ages and I have always thought the residents are very nice.
Looking to move downtown can be quite difficult but KC Loft Central makes it very easy and has many options. If you want to live in the heart of downtown and enjoy all that it has to offer and live in a place that when you walk outside, you stop and take a deep breath to just take in how beautiful your neighborhood is then Library Lofts/​Board of Trade Building is for you!

I received a response that the bait and switch that I mentioned was just an issue with places being rented out too quickly to update the listings. This does not explain why the listing was still there weeks, or months, after we were told it had been rented. It also doesn’t address the fact that when you go in for an appointment the agent won’t be there and/​or won’t even know what you’re wanting to look at.
To recap, these are greedy people who hire inexperienced agents to peddle their wares. But they are the gatekeepers. You have to go through them for many of the available apartments downtown. Just remember to always get clarification on anything they promise, and ask for their promises in writing.

Note all buildings allow smoking within units. If there is a unit nearby where tenets are smoking you will be able to smell in you unit. All of you things will smell like as well. Its incredibly disgusting.

I moved to KC in 2007 planning to be here just 3 months. I booked a unit at Library Lofts online before arriving. I ended up loving my space and the location and ended up staying for 8 years before recently buying a house. The amenities and staff are great. There are more than 35 bars and restaurants within walking distance. I went 7 years without having to own a car. I miss life at Library Lofts!

I was tenant here for 1 year, and would absolutely never rent or do business with this company again. I was always on time with my rent and gave notice in compliance with the lease terms. When I went to retrieve the final items that were left in my apartment, since I still had possession of the unit, $ 700 worth of property was stolen out of my unit from someone with a key. The door was locked when I arrived, and my other items that were of no value to them were still there.
When I contacted management about my stolen items, I was told to file a police report because, «they didn’t do it, and they don’t want to be responsible for this.» The assistant manager, Katie White, as well as the general manager, Shelly Higerd, said that they had asked their employees and they couldn’t accuse any of them for this. They also stated that they have no system in place to investigate theft.
There are security cameras at the entrance and exit of the buildings. When I asked Katie White if they had viewed the tapes, her response to me was, «that would literally take a week, I’m not doing that.» She then accused my boyfriend of stealing my large flat screen television, huge kitchen rug, and vacuum, since he was the one that helped me move.
The management team at KC Loft Central has no respect for their tenants, which was demonstrated throughout my entire time living at Soho West. I would never recommend renting or buying from this company. They are thieves.

KC Loft Central has done a great job taking care of me in my time as a renter. They’re very friendly, and always have a solution to my problems. Their hours are a bit difficult for those who work a standard 9 – 5, but they return my call first thing the next morning.
The neighborhood is the coolest. Walking distance from P&L and Rivermarket, and there’s a bakery in the same building. Are you kidding me?!
Everyone was very helpful in helping me find a unit that was right for me.

We designed and constructed a custom loft with KCLoftCentral and the service was very professional and super friendly throughout the entire process. Their offices are more than accommodating for meetings.

The rent comes at a higher price than you might think. The company cares little about the residents that make its business thrive. It runs like a big corporation preying on the lowly tenents that live in the facilities. They have a near monopoly on the market downtown so they are able to do this, and the occupancy in downtown kansas city for non-​section 8 housing is near 100%. I have rented from them since 2009 and at first they were friendly and helped make renting enjoyable, but then new management took over, with the new management you are treated as a consumer who has no other options. I would never do business with this company again and would advise everyone looking into living in their facilities to heed my warning. They have zero flexability and many added fees. They represent everything that makes the renting experience undesireable. I feel as though I’ve been robbed after renting from them. Do yourself a favor and rent from another renter, you might not have any other choice though.

KC Loft Central has a great product and they know it.
That’s why they’re able to continually suck you dry of more and more money, regardless of your rental history or personal relationship with the leasing agents. In the four years we have rented from them, we have seen our rent increase by 5−7% each year – no negotiations. When we had to break our lease due to new jobs in a different city, they didn’t budge on the break-​lease fee of $ 2370 + utilities for 3 months either.
This company is out to make money, and you are a pawn in their scheme.
Though it was our choice to live here for the last four years, we have given this company more than $ 44,000 of our money in rent and the current management has not put any effort into working with us financially. I would not recommend this business to anyone. Their customer relations are extremely poor when it comes down to making you feel like your business is appreciated.
