I regularly make the record store rounds of Kansas City, and Revolution ALWAYS comes through with a good find or surprise. If you’re feeling down or low, try hitting the new arrivals section of Revolution once a week. You’re guaranteed to score a gem every time. The staff is maybe the best part of this store. Some record stores have an air of music snobbery; not so here. Ask any of the old guys here any question about music, and they will be enthused to crack your world open with The Undisputed Truth. You get the whole Wikipedia entry from the guy who wrote it every time. And deals deals deals $$$. You bring home 4x more than what you get for the same price at others, and they’ll buy/trade your shit too. Again, without the snobbery. I’ve brought records to some other stores that claim to trade and been treated like my vinyl had AIDS. «Sorry bro, no room.» My mom gave me a Hall & Oates record, among shitty others. Now they’re finally gone. Thanks Revolution. You can give them your Foreigner; they’ll keep a secret. The artist formerly known as Zebedee’s of Midtown, now called Revolution Records of Crossroads, is one of the best nooks of KC(think It’s a Beautiful Day or 7th Heaven). If you have a couple dollars and want to pay some good people for some quality music, go to Revolution Records.
