Overall, good donuts along with great service. I was mostly impressed by the chocolate donut with peanut butter fluff in the middle. I love peanut butter, but not on my donuts, however this one was quite unique, with a nice balance of sweeet and creamy. The fritters were huge, but could use a little more glaze on the exterior and the bottom. I don’t just want sweetness on the top of my donut.

I have not gone there in about 11⁄2 years because of health reasons but when I did they were really good. There cinnamon rolls were my favorite.

Ridgewood donuts is the best The people are lays friendly and if Greg(the owner) is here and not out making deliveries and you have told h your name once and you don’t come back for awhile he will remember it. The people that work here are great, they are glad to see you… and you can tell they care and that it’s just more than a donut shop

Man were these nasty donuts. It wasn’t even hot that day and yet the glaze was just dripping off of them. I think any product this guy does not sell out the next day.

Ridgewood Donuts how do I LUV thee… let me count the ways. When you step into the store it smells like sugar heaven! Get there at 7:30 on a Saturday morning and MOST of the cases will still be pretty full and you may be able to get your«favorite». Last Saturday at 7:40 a.m. I got the one remaining Bavarian Crème filled doughnut in the tray! Hubby was pleased! Ask me what my «favorite» is and I will say it’s whatever I have in my hand at that moment. I’m just happy that Ridgewood Donuts is still around after all these years. Oh, and by the way, I hardly ever leave the store without an old fashioned Buttermilk doughnut and if I really want to load up on the calories and fat I’ll go for at least one Long John or a big old Bear Claw! And did I mention the wonder of biting into a warm, slightly squishy, regular glazed?

I was raised on Ridgewood donuts so I basically compare all donuts to Ridgewood donuts. The best donuts they offer are long johns. They have both filled and unfilled as well as a really good maple long lohn. The filled long johns are either pudding or icing filled. If you shop at Price Chopper you can sometimes get lucky and have a coupon to Ridgewood printed on the back of your receipt for half off a dozen donuts. I had one of these coupons and decided to pay Ridgewood my first visit in a few years and got my dozen donuts. It has expanded since I was last there to also include pastries. I made sure to get there early so there were plenty of options and luckily the Sunday church crowd had not hit yet. I decided to get both kinds of filled long johns and the girl that was helping me was nice enough to put tissue under each one and label with a pen which filling they were. I love that although there is a Wal-mart that has moved in 500 feet from Ridgewood that people still line up out the door for their donuts. I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t have their long johns anymore!

I like donuts and Ridgewood donuts is on the way to work and I stop by once a week for a donut fix. If you want to get something other than a cake donut, I’ve realized that you have to get in there early, before 9am! Because once they are out of what you want, then they are out. Plus this place closes when they have sold everything. This is a business model that I actually respect. What I like about Ridgewood is that they make what they want and during the holidays they make festive cookies. I bought a bunch of Christmas and Valentine’s Day cookies when they were available. Also, they are made from scratch and the icing is obviously not done by a machine. I enjoy Lofthouse cookies, but Ridgewood creates a pretty complimentary cookie in comparison. As far as drinks go, this place is hit and miss. They have coffee, but it isn’t very good. It’s basically your average gas station pre-made, over-roasted coffee. Typically when I go to Ridgewood, it is when I have enough time to stop by Benetti’s as well. I think Ben should sell his coffee to this establishment. Small businesses UNITE! Okay, this review is all over the place, but here’s my rating. Service: Great, especially when you take a minute to talk to the person helping you out. Food: Their donuts are really good. Some of them are too hearty for me though. I typically just get a non-cake glazed donut. I believe their specialty is the cake variety, which are good, just too heavy for me in the morning. Would I go back: Yup, once a week. I sometimes pick up a dozen for church on Sundays.

I have been visiting this donut shop for 49 years. It has stood the test of time, even beating a Lamar’s, which used to be on 40 high way and Noland Road. It used to be a small shop, with one donut rack, but it has expanded, and now has 4 donut racks, and a large cooking area, not unlike Krispy Cream. It also serves soda(didn’t do that in 1962), and has coffee, but it’s not hand crafted coffee, don’t get your hopes up there. It exists in the same location, since it’s been built. Other stores have left the little strip village(it’s not a strip mall, it’s a little strip village). It has red bricks, and the only thing that has changed is new asphalt, and new existing stores. The one thing that has changed is the price. It’s incredibly expensive, but it continues to serve us in this neighborhood. The staff, sometimes, isn’t as friendly, but they are very busy, and I think that has alot to do with it. They have a steady business, and are often sold out by 10ish. I only buy donuts, about once every few months, and when I do, I often go here, as opposed to Krispy Cream. The donuts here, are not overly large, but are overly good. But a dozen, is, $ 11.25. That is worth 4 stars.
