Sammy’s is definitely an old school bar. It’s dark, filled with regulars and has an oddly cool mural of dogs drinking cocktails on the wall. This was a stop on the pub crawl earlier this summer. We finally ventured back one evening a couple of weeks ago. The night we stopped by the regulars were incredibly nice instead of standoffish as some can be. The bartender welcomed us and let us know what nights he works. I didn’t notice at the time, this is my bad, they require a $ 20 minimum on credit cards. Of course, this is after we had ordered our drinks and realized neither had enough cash. Oh well… let the drinking commence! We had a good time, drank our way to our minimum and introduced ourselves to the bartender. I have to wonder if when the other KCK bars are packed this little hide-a-way might be the place to visit.

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Kansas City, KS
Sometimes, you just want a small watering hole with an old school wood bar and clearly has stories to tell. One of those places in Kansas City is located on Sixth Street. If you’re driving a bit too fast, you may miss Sammy’s. But you really should watch your speed because it’s 20MPH in this area. At Sixth and Tenny, there’s Sammy’s. It’s got a neon light saying so. The place has domestics and a few micro brews on tap along with a basic bar set up to make a variety of standard drinks. The outside isn’t much to look at, but inside is a nice little bar to sit down at and have a few drinks. The night I went in was quiet. It was right before Polski Day and Cinco de Mayo. So, people likely were at home resting for the upcoming festivities. We had a few beers. The bartender was super nice and joked around with us along with other patrons at the bar. Most of the time, we all were focused on watching Storage Wars on the televisions in the bar. Storage Wars. So, it was pretty chill. It may not be for everyone, but I like the little dive and recommend checking it out!
