Carneceria La Siete has some amazing tacos, I’ve been three times now and have not been disappointed on any visit. The arrachera tacos cost more($ 2/taco vs $ 1/taco) but are well worth it. Their carnitas as well as the chorizo are also quite tasty. The butcher is also very knowledgeable and will help you out if you’re looking to up your Mexican home cooking game.

As mentioned before, this place is now Carniceria de la 7. They have great Mexican food, and $.99 street tacos everyday! But what really made my lazy ass write this review is the menudo they have every weekend; best in KC! Go try it, you’ll thank me later.

Great chorizo tacos. Complimentary salsa, jalapeños, and chips. Also the price for 8 tacos was under 9 bucks. What a steal. A bit oily so 4 stars. Still worth a visit.

The fourth stop on our taco crawl lead us to the smaller sized grocery /butcher /taco spot. Service was sit down rather than ordering at a counter. I ordered the chicken taco and was very disappointed. The chicken was super dry, it was like chicken jerky. The redeeming qualities were the friendly Service as well as the gigantic, mouth-watering donut I purchased. it was moist, sweet and fried to perfection. I wouldn’t go back for a taco, but I would definitely go for pastries and donuts and maybe some chicharrones which also looked amazing.

This location is now called Carneceria La Siete. This was the fourth stop on our Taco Crawl. We ordered three different tacos and the carnitas taco was excellent. While this wasn’t our first choice for tacos, we did enjoy shopping and sharing a giant chocolate donut. Great location for fast lunch. Good service and good food.

This place is actually named Carniceria La 7 now. The 4th stop on the taco crawl and the most disappointing. The chicken was like jerky. The tongue was tender, but lacked much flavor. Service was friendly and probably the best part of the taco experience. The store on the other hand is a nice little store. Not as big as some of the others in the area, but a nice selection at the meat counter including a good variety of chicharrones. The big fluffy elephant ear sized pieces, the small crunchy one, pieces with meat still on them. I kind of fell in love with the options. They also have a decent bakery selection and after stealing a bite of a donut, I can still say Mexican pastries are one of the most incredible things ever! I don’t know if the name change is a change in ownership, but the tacos need some work to compete with all of the options in KCK.

While I’ve never been to Mexico, I can only assume that this place is about as authentic as they come. The food is delicious, nobody speaks a lick of English, and everything is so affordable that you feel as if you’re traveling someplace where the dollar is strong. REALLY strong. Reading the other reviews, I was expecting a place that was attached to a market and butcher shop and all that. I personally saw none of that, though I was there in the evening and it COULD have been behind the mysterious door. I walked right from the sidewalk into the bare bones dining room. The tables are sticky, but other than that it was perfectly fine. I mean, keep in mind that you’re eating in a no-frills taco shop in KCK. Telenovelas provide the ambiance. There’s no menu, but I can tell you what they serve: Tacos, burritos and tortas. There might be other secret offerings, but that’s what I read on the sign by the kitchen. The one gentleman working came and took our orders. Originally I wanted carnitas tacos, but they were out so I got 2 lengua and 2 pastor, plus a Mexi-Coke. The significant other had the same. Dude walks into the kitchen and cooks it for us. Talk about a bare-bones operation! Still, things were fast, and OHMYGOD delicious. Served with the obligatory cilantro and onion on the side, they step up their game by also having some green paste that I couldn’t identify but thought was the bomb. I’d have to eat these tacos side by side with El Camino Real to see which is my favorite, but these are dang good. There’s a serious language barrier here. The employee spoke NO English, so my incredibly limited Spanish was what got us through. That being said, we were never wanting for anything, and the guy was INCREDIBLY nice. But the language barrier did become problematic when it came to one thing: paying the bill. I got the tab, and it was showing only 4 tacos and the two drinks, for a grand total of $ 8.50. Now, we ordered 8 tacos, but he kept insisting the bill was correct, and when i tried to overpay he pushed the money back. He even tried to refuse a tip. It was all just baffling. Not in a bad way, mind you. But we left somebody feeling that we had scammed the guy. Either this place is dirt cheap and the best place ever, or the guy is an excellent cook and a sub-par mathematician. Regardless of if it’s option A or B, I will most certainly be back. This place is glorious.

This is a neat authentic place. Go early for lunch and you will be the only one[s] there due to the late arriving Latinos. You will not be lonely though. Tacos are 99 cents with great meats like cabeza [beef head] and pastor [seasoned pork]. They have plates for about $ 8, too. Things like Chile Rellenos. If the plates are anywhere as good as the tacos, this place is dynamite. There is a little grocery attached, and a butcher. You can buy the wonderful green and red sauces they serve you over there for $ 2 per pint. The verde [green] sauce is made with avocado, tomatillo, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro and some of the best tasting stuff I have ever had. This place is not to be missed.

Wow, these tacos are fantastic! Really good stuff. Love the attached carneceria and tortilleria. Pretty barebones place, but they’ve apparently been doing pretty well – well enough to begin expanding the operation. The carne asada and chorizo are dreamy whether stuffed inside a burrito, taco, quesadilla or torta. For some reason which I cannot adequately explain, I have yet to try the carnitas, which I have committed to rectifying as soon as possible. On a recent lunch, a coworker bought a bag of(still warm!) tortillas and brought them back to work. The idea was, naturally, that he’d take them home and enjoy them with his wife; unfortunately, as one might imagine, they didn’t last through the afternoon. Poor guy had called his wife upon purchasing the bag to mentally prepare her for the awesomeness that was to be theirs that evening, and the vultures in this office swept down upon the tortillas and devoured them like so much carrion. Do yourself a favor and check it out. These guys even have a parking lot for those averse to feeding meters, unlike the other(also awesome) taco place down the street.

Walk through a grocery store? Check. Insurmountable language barrier? Check Mexican Meat Roulette? Check. I cant recommend a specific dish, mostly because I dont think I ate what I tried to order, but it didnt matter. Everything was fantastic, from the tacos to the horchata, and I would eat here weekly if I lived in KC. Go for the tacos, stay for the censored spanish jukebox. Olé.

Amazingly authentic tacos in downtown KCK. Fresh tortillas made on site every day. Wednesday is $ 1 Carne Asada tacos. But it doesn’t really matter because all the tacos are only $ 2 and packed full of meat and flavor. I’ve tried the Carne Asada, the Carnitas and the Chorizo so far. Chorizo has narrowly defeated all other selections. Each order comes with a great selection of fresh cut cilantro, limes, radishes, onion, salsa and this fantastic(and really spicy) avocado sauce. Did I mention they make and sell their tortillas right there on the restaurant floor? Amazing. Recently a co-worker tried the Tortas and said they were even better than the tacos. Hard to believe, but I’m going to try them next time I go. Don’t go expecting some american-ized«on-the-border» experience, with everything smothered in cheese, served with a side of beans and rice and singing sombrero waiters. This little gem is in a meat market and maybe has enough seating for 20. This is as real as it gets. To make the experience even better try the homemade Horchata ladled out of large vat in the corner of the restaurant.
