I went to Shamrock Storage because of a deal I bought on LivingSocial. This is a long story. To put it briefly, my experience sucked. And when I asked for help, I was met with rude and reluctant responses. Additionally, when I told the manager Jose that I did not appreciate his tone, he told me he «Wasn’t yelling» I agreed that he was not yelling, but I reaffirmed that I did not appreciate this tone. The long story I had just moved to Kansas City from Los Angeles, and my movers were coming in a week or two in an 18-wheeler truck. My movers told me that they would charge me an astronomical fee if the 18 wheeler didn’t fit up to my storage location so I asked the manager Jose if an 18-Wheeler would fit. He said that he would give me a unit that was accessible from an 18-wheeler. Here is where I made my first mistake, I didn’t check out the unit, I just thanked him, took my lock and went on my merry way. When my father came back with the movers on the weekend, my unit was padlocked, with someone else’s lock. They couldn’t get into the storage unit. We called Jose and could not reach him. He states he was on the the premise at the time, as he lives there, but my dad looked around and could not find him. So my moving company charged me a $ 100 fee to bring my items to a different location. I called Jose and left a message with him about the issue. He returned my call the following week. When we finally spoke, I requested my original $ 55 dollars back along with reimbursement for the $ 100 fee I received based on his company’s negligence. He said he’d talk to the owner and get back to me. After no call for 2 weeks I called him back and asked why he’d never called, and he told me that I never called him and that we had never talked. So we had the same conversation again, he said that he could get me my $ 55 dollars back, but he’d have to discuss the $ 100 with the owner and he didn’t think that it would happen. He promised to call me back. 2 weeks pass. No call. So I called him back again. This time, he remembers me, and tells me that the owner will not reimburse me for the $ 100, and basically that I’m ridiculous for even asking. «It’s not our fault that your moving company charged you that fee» Except, it is, because had there not been an unauthorized padlock on my unit, I wouldn’t have gotten the fee, also, The 18-wheeler that he promised me would be able to access my unit, could not access my unit and there was a fee associated with that as well. Finally, I still have yet to receive my reimbursement, so I called LivingSocial, they refunded me immediately and gave me an additional $ 15 of Living Social bucks. This was an utterly ridiculous experience and the owner refused to talk with me the entire time.
