Quinoa and couscous salad was good, but way too much couscous and only a trace amount of quinoa… would order again but extra light on the couscous. Two stars due to service… she not very friendly. Spinach dip was good.

I’m really jaded giving The Well a two star review, but my recent visit here didn’t impress anymore than my previous visits. The Well has the potential to be incredible — great location in Waldo, incredible rooftop seating, large industrial themed environment perfect for hanging out, and dedicated owners of other successful ventures around KC. Despite everything going for it, it really lacks the«zing» to make me consider it a go-to location for drinking, eating, or hanging out in Waldo. My last dinner here was underwhelming at best. The spinach artichoke dip(free with your first check-in on Unilocal) was slopped together with a smattering of chips. Definitely not worth the $ 10 bucks, had it not been for the coupon. The sliders were decent, but nothing that couldn’t be served elsewhere with more pizzazz. My wife’s Mahi tacos(on special) were really sad and at $ 16 bucks, a real waste of money. Our server, albeit friendly, never made it back to our table to refill drinks or offer another beer. We saw her once after ordering — to pay the bill. She seemed overworked being the only staffer on the floor outside of the hostess and food runner. The food prices in general are really high here. Two beers, an app, plus two entrees totaled our bill to $ 51 bucks. After the free Unilocal coupon for the dip and a $ 10 gift card in hand, $ 31 seemed more reasonable but not satisfying given the lackluster food. I’m disappointed because of their potential. I’d head back to drink here, but not for dinner. With so many other quality(and cheaper) food options popping up around Waldo and Brookside, it doesn’t make sense to spend beaucoup bucks for a «meh» product.

The fish tacos I had were awesome. Katie, our server, did a fantastic job making sure our needs were taken care of. Will definitely come back.

Weather was sunny and the roof top was the place to be. However you should avoid the NE corner of the roof to avoid sewer gas fumes. Service was fast and friendly. Margaritas were bitter and bangless. Fressh friut was blamed and sweet water was added. Yuk. Burger was not note worthy but filling. the fries ok. The cuban sandwich very good.

We beat the Saturday lunch crowd and ordered a couple of soup combos with sliders. Once I checked in on Unilocal, there was a free spinach artichoke dip offer, so we asked the waitress to bring that out when she could — no hurry since we didn’t notice it right away. She didn’t seem familiar with the offer but didn’t put up a fight. Our food came out fast. The tortilla soup was a tad tart for me, but mom had the pork chili soup so we traded. That pork soup was awesome. Thise little slider burgers were sad and I’ll be happy if I never eat another one. After further consideration, we realized that combo price was kind of a rip off anyway, but wrote it off as a lesson learned and considered we got a free appetizer anyway that was pretty dang delucious. We still left happy and had good service.

Went in on 1÷13÷16 for lunch and the powerball deal. Just want to say, Jamie our server was great. The well was busier than usual, and jamie had a few tables seated all at the same time. She was on top of everything. Food and drinks were great as usual.

I been there a few times and enjoyed myself. Good food love the live bands that perform there. They get very busy in the summer and Saturday nights it’s hard to get in. But over all a great hang out spot. I’m a wing eater love buffalo wings and there appetizer are nice. Don’t like the fact the restroom is right across the bar.

Let’s mark this review as incomplete — as it’s based off of a holiday visit(when not everything is going to be normal)… and a visit 2 years ago. The Well fits into that niche of «high-end neighborhood bar and grill where the food is better than what you’d find at Applebee’s». And it really is; ordered Christmas dinner there on Christmas with a friend, and it was pretty good. The atmosphere is more designed for casual dinner with friends than it is bar-hopping on a Friday night, and the beer, wine, and cocktail selections are, as the kooky young folks say, «on point.» Service was a little odd on this visit; our server would go between periods of checking on us every 2 minutes — to not checking on us at all. There were a couple of other things, but really, those are all one-time only things, and with only a couple of visits under my belt, that might be a little harsh to include in a review. But overall, the place isn’t bad. What more needs to be said?

I’m giving the Well 3 stars based on a few happy hour experiences over the years. Not a bad place to stop in for ½ priced appetizers and a couple of drinks after work or in the summer after a day at the pool, getting a table on the rooftop. The food isn’t anything special and at regular prices is more expensive than its worth and I can definitely tell this wouldn’t be my type of place to hang out when it is more crowded. What else can I say? Fine by me for happy hour but otherwise I’ll pass.

The Well has a friendly vibe, decent beer menu, and lots of teevees for viewing your sports. What more could a girl want? Actually, I like the cocktail menu too, it’s got some fun & creative choices. Try the KC Socialite. There’s a fairly extensive menu of pub grub type of food — not hitting it outta the park, but a solid base hit — plus servers have always been friendly & chatty. Their ace in the hole is that wonderful deck up top… who wouldn’t like that? But it’s a solid choice even on a gloomy downstairs day. Parking is a zoo, because Waldo.(Edit: my bad, I guess there’s another lot behind the building. No more trying to park by the bus stop!)

I would not describe the food as amazing. I had the jambalaya and my husband had the fish and chips. The jambalaya seemed to be missing something and the fish and chips was just three small pieces of fish and the fries were a fairly small portion too. Had each entrée been about three to five dollars less it would have been a better deal.

Such a fun atmosphere. You will come across people of all sorts in this bar. There is a new special everyday one with great happy hour specials! Unfortunately they are a bit overpriced if you do not attend their happy hour. The service and food is amazing

The main reason I enjoy going here is for their open roof top patio. With heat lamps and gas fire pits it truly is a three season patio. If you check in on Unilocal, you get the spinach/artichoke dip as a free appetizer. The tacos are yummy.

Happy Hour ½ price appetizers are well worth the money and delicious to boot. I had the chicken tenders, the nachos, the bruschetta(my favorite), and the three dips. We went for a goodbye HH the day after the Royals won the series, and it was dead on the rooftop and on the inside. Servers seemed tuckered out from all the activity, and ours made sure she let us know she had only two hours of sleep the night before due to working the series. The only other time I have been here was a few years back when it was packed; I turned around and left. This latest experience was decent, and I would definitely go back as long as it was not crowded.

It’s a bar and grill with better than average ambiance, really great bruschetta for you vegetarians and a killer upper deck. As far as I’m Concerned it’s in the top tier of bars and grills in KC.

The rooftop is just what you need on a nice Kansas City night. There’s plenty of space to lounge and sit for a drink. The place kinda turns into a dance club at like 10 or so so if you get all liquored up and want to dance, just head downstairs. If you check in with Unilocal you get free spinach dip! I think the only downfall is the view from the rooftop. It overlooks a csrwash and the night we were there, a guy was washing his car for a good hour… I mean it was kind of amusing to see his technique but I would rather have liked to see the city in the distance.

So, it took me awhile to come back here because this place left a really bad taste in my mouth. The owner read my review and was really apologetic which I dearly appreciate; now that lovely service. I came back and the service was a zillion times better, we were checked on and the waitress was really attentive and nice. I had a specialty cocktail that came in a really awesome tiki cup. I order a burger(which was yummy) and redeemed a free app of the spinach dip with check-in, which is some of the best I’ve had. This place is really awesome, the lovely rooftop dinning is now to par with the service and I couldn’t be happier.

Came here for lunch after a long drive and it was pretty great. I love the Waldo area, and the fact that you can sit on the roof here and look around at it is cool. I sat on the roof for about 10 minutes and was never helped so I decided to sit at the rooftop bar. After that poor start things got much better. This place has a great menu and the bartender was pretty cool. I can tell this is where the younger crowd in Waldo must hang out. I don’t think I would probably come back to hang out at night or anything. The roof had a few beers on tap… two Boulevard ones which was enough for me I suppose. They served it in plastic cups which I found a little odd. I really didn’t expect to be blown away by the food but it was far better than I expected. My French dip was outstanding! The fries were awesome as well. Overall it was a pretty relaxing time with a brew and some food on the roof with the beautiful weather.

I used the Unilocal ordering option to have dinner delivered. The food is ok. Just ok. I ordered a Cuban(because when presented with an option that allows me to order something out of the norm delivery options, I go with a sandwich) and it wasn’t overly flavorful. The bread they use is perfect for a Cuban, the pork and ham just need more flavor. You have a good variety of sides to choose to go with your sandwich. I decided on fries so I can make hash in the morning and they are pretty decent fries. The delivery service has a minimum order price of $ 15 so I added the donut things for dessert. They were overcooked and came in a paper bag, The donuts were supposed to be cinnamon sugar. The cinnamon sugar was in the bottom of the bag and not coated on the donuts. They either put them in cold, or didn’t bother shaking the bag after adding them. Once cooled they were not going to coat in the cinnamon sugar whcih meant plain, overcooked, dough balls. Overall, the food isn’t bad. I probably wouldn’t rush back or order again anytime soon, but I would give them another try if someone wanted to go there. The order was delivered within 45 minutes.

The Well, owners Andy and Chris are doing things right… and that starts with an inviting atmosphere, coupled with tasty grub. The Resta-Bar, a combo restaurant/bar has a hip look, garage doors, that double as windows, that we’re open today to let in the fresh air and subtle street noise. Several TVs dot the walls, all showing various sporting events. A long, well stocked bar, hugged a wall leading to stairs that climbed to the rooftop deck. The place was packed with, 20 something’s looking for the perfect place to hang. We were there to have an early dinner, and I would’ve given 5 stars, except the place was so loud it was hard to hear the table conversation. The food was very good, my son and niece chowed down on their chicken fingers and fries… standard kids fair. My son really liked the honey mustard, and said the fingers were pretty tasty as well. I grabbed the club sandwich and fries. The sandwich, was standard fair, but very nicely put together, with toasted bread, it added just the right crunch to the bacon, turkey, lettuce, and tomato. The seasoned fries were natural cut, and better than most served at R/B’s. Mom had the fish tacos, that she absolutely loved. I guess they were newly added to the menu. They looked great, with all the taco fixin’s, with a big wedge of avocado to finish off the presentation. The plate was clean, which indicated she was a happy camper, plus she picked up the bill tonight… bingo… The well, a good neighborhood hangout, with lots to offer.

The Well is one of the better bar and grills in KC. The food seems to be hand made and the portions are LARGE. Sometimes it would be nice to have a smaller portion. When the weather is nice, eating on the rooftop is a must. Good food and sunshine on your face is always a good thing.

If I lived within walking distance of The Well, I’d be there often. For a sports bar, the menu choices, the food, and the wine are unusually good and at very reasonable prices. The service also is very good. But the parking problems and the noise level in the restaurant got progressively more difficult, starting at around 5 pm, when the restaurant became more crowded. We arrived at 4 pm and enjoyed it very much until the noise level became unpleasant.

The well the well. I was asked to come back to this amazing place and I can’t tell you how much fun i had. I came on a Saturday around 10pm ish and to my surprise I was told there was a 5 $ cover due to having a dj. Yes I got a bit upset I came for strictly dinner I danced before I made it here but ok what the heck we live almost a hour away so no turning back now. I and others were surprised that they were asking for a cover but I think they paid as well lol moving on. It’s almost packed on the first level, as I searched for a waitress seemed I would get no luck, so we sat ourselves and my husband went looking and found success. On the phone we were told the kitchen closes at 12 midnight but the woman said the menu changes at 11pm. So we rushed to order. I got the creole pasta and my husband basic self got the nachos again. He isn’t hard to please. But me… I wanted to be wowed. The music is great I’m jamming with my free check in chips and dip. Drinks were made within good timing with all the folks here just drinking. The pasta was good I added salt BAM and it took it there. Mai tai and adiós drinks come in big cup. Don’t know how much it was. But made well not to heavy handed and not soft either. Boogied the whole time I was here. Got to watch some funny drunk people dance and I sweated until I couldn’t nomore. Time to go home. I’m absolutely in love with this place we are coming again and again! Thanks CHRIS L. The owner takes his business real serious and has the BEST customer service.

I came here for brunch this morning to meet up with a group of co-workers. For $ 16.99 I had the full buffet which was really good with lots of variety from scrambled eggs to shrimp pasta to bread pudding. My waitress was outstanding. She refilled my coffee on cue like she could read my mind, no, better than that… she refilled it BEFORE it was on my mind! The atmosphere was casual, yet clean, and lots of people were having a good time. It felt good to be here. My group sat downstairs at a big round table, but I cant wait to return and sit upstairs/outside. I recommend it for brunch! 8÷18÷15 Update: a couple months ago(in June) I returned for brunch on the rooftop deck. Had an omelet and fried potatoes, my daughter had a salad and sandwich which she was happy with. It was great to relax with a Bloody Mary, all at reasonable prices.(see extra pics). I’m keeping my 4 star rating. :)
