ABC Stores are a Hawaiian Convenience Store chain that strikes me as a cross between 7 – 11 and a tourist souvenir shop. The prices are nice too and they’re open long hours. I stopped in several times during our recent Kauai stay for wine, snacks, toiletries, reading material, and several things I’ve already forgotten about. Staff was always helpful, friendly, and welcoming.

I love these stores. From the tiny bottles of alcohol to the LILIKOIHI-CHEW that’s only available at ABC stores! This was the only one out of 5 ones I visited that had it! So, of course, I bought like 15. Friendly and fun staff!

Always easy, friendly, and all over. If you can’t find an ABC store in Hawaii, your eyes are closed! Lol not the cheapest, but mostly fair prices.

How could I have forgotten this store from the last time we visited Kauai. This is the place to find some good finds for souvenirs. You can find great prices and cool things here, I even bought a couple things for myself! I found some Hershey’s Macadamia Nut Kisses that I brought back for my work to share and for the chocolate lover’s in the family. I’ll have to remember this place when I return to Kauai. Great prices and cool finds. As mentioned from the other Unilocaler’s, the employees are very friendly. This store can be seen from the main street, but because there is so much to see on this street you can miss it if you are not looking for it. I would definitely return here to shop.

ABC Stores are rarer in Kauai than on other Islands. I was pleased to see that there was a location within walking distance from where I was staying at. This ABC Store is located next to Starbucks, and shares the same plaza as Safeway and Longs Drugs. ABC Stores tend to carry a range of items from food and drinks, alcohol, souvenirs(shot glasses, key chains, t-shirts, hats, etc.), sandals/flip flops, sunscreen, tanning lotion, and more! I would recommend going to the ABC Store over Longs Drugs for souvenirs because the prices are more affordable, and they have a better variety of products. On a side note, if you are looking to buy chocolate covered macadamias/souvenirs in BULK… I recommend going to Costco instead! This location was clean, well stocked, and not overly crowded. The cashier was friendly and always reminded me to save my receipts. You get to choose a free gift if you purchase more than $ 100.

Thank goodness for the ABC store… while we were planning a trip to the beach, we needed a place to keep our precious adult beverages cold and ABC had just the option! A nicely insulated bag where we could store our stuff. We always end up getting a snack or two as well! They have it all!

Kind of a weird hodge podge of products! Just your average convenience store with souvenirs tacked on. I got a shirt but there was an extremely limited selection of sizes. The other souvenirs were a tad pricey and some were completely random and not practical whatsoever. I also grabbed an odwallla smoothie(my favorite) for the same price I pay on the mainland. Solid place, nothing fantastic though.

Perfect place to buy some generic Hawaiian gifts to bring home for your friends and family. They’ve got everything you can think of: leis, dresses, shirts, keychains, shot glasses, postcards, calendars, macadamia nuts, chocolate, alcohol, hats, and so much more. I believe most of the items are made in Hawaii… or in China. I didn’t really look. Since I wanted to buy things that were just made in Kauai, I settled for the Salty Wahine sea salts to buy as souvenirs/gifts. The Hawaiian Rub and the Guava Garlic salt smelled delicious. It’s a good place to buy the salts if you aren’t able to make it to a farmer’s market to buy them.

Very cool store, Came here a couple of times for souvenirs and beers. Good prices not too bad and easy way to spend $ 200 on souvenirs for the family.

My sister-in-law said that ABC Stores were going to be my best friend in Hawaii. She didn’t lie! I was so excited to go to ABC Stores that I requested a catalog to prepare myself. It did not disappoint. I wanted to go every day! And while I didn’t make it every day, I did go more days than not. Some people complained that the prices were high… I found them to be reasonable and was fine spending the money I did. Everything is expensive in Hawaii, get over it. And I did save my receipts and I did get TWO free gifts for the amount I spent and I was happy to receive them. some reviewers have complained that the gifts they could receive from saving their receipts aren’t worth it. Shut up! I don’t see any other place offering to give you free stuff if you spend money there. And while the gifts aren’t bars of gold, they’re nice gifts that you wouldn’t have received otherwise. Let us not act like entitled brats, okay? the best part about this particular location is the store manager, Leeann. She was working every time I went in and she always remembered me. She’s super friendly and so nice and I think I almost had her convinced to adopt me so I didn’t have to come back to Missouri! I’m still waiting for the custody hearing, Leeann! She is amazing and if I could give six stars, I would just for her!

For all your souvenir needs! This place has all the crap you will want to take home to coworkers and whoever else. Shirts, hats, towels, sarongs, shot glasses, hula girls, nuts & coffee, and on and on… This location was nicer and larger than the location near Nawilhili(sp?) Park in Lihue. Location is easy to get in and out of and the staff was friendly.

NOTE: keep your receipts if you spend so much you get a gift. i can always use a cute mug. :)

We are staying within walking distance, and they have Hawaiian bottled water for a better price than the grocery stores. They open fairly early and close fairly late. Local rum is only $ 1 more than Safeway, and there are lots of(relatively) cheap things in there. The employees are really nice. Like everyone says, they carry a little bit of everything. Once you spend $ 100 total(«save your receipts» they tell you), you get a free thing, either a mug, a shopping bag(including Hello Kitty for those fans), or something else I forget. I looked for a unicorn based on Chun’s review, but I guess they were temporarily out.

This place has got EVERYTHING for reasonable prices: beer, wine, liquor, candy, food, juices, souveniers, condoms, medicine, clothes, shoes, magazines, gyros, bitches, douchebags, ponies, cigarettes, cigars, weed, unicorns, alpacas, children, meth, cocaine, leprechauns, angels, and much much more! (OK, maybe I completely made up some of the inventory)

Expensive tourist trap is what ABC stores are. But, if you’re a tourist, lots of stuff here to bring back to your homes if you wanna drop some $$. On Kaua’i there are a few. On Oahu, hi, every other store.

11÷9÷11 The folks here are so nice and helpful! But then who isn’t in Hawaii? I always love to go shopping here… especially for the souvenirs and the Hello Kitty Hawaii items! It’s always our non-stop shop when on any of the islands!

Almost everything here is junk. The jewelry is likely to break before you get back to the mainland, and anything that looks like it is from Hawaii is most likely from Indonesia instead. That said, they do have a nice assortment of local drinks and candy. The staff is friendly, and they will remind you to keep your receipts for a free gift… but who spends $ 500 at the ABC store? And if I did, I would expect a better free gift than a cheap collapsible cooler! We were able to find a great Ukulele here($ 21) which although is not nearly as good as one from a music shop, is leaps and bounds better then the junky ones at Walmart. Make sure it uses worm gears to hold the strings in place or you will need to re-tune it every 20 seconds.

This is the first time ever that I’ve come to an ABC Store and didn’t buy anything. Usually, they have some stuff that looks enticing — and it’s so cheap! But no today, nothing. Wanna know why? Because Kmart(on this island anyway) is a much better place to go for tchochkes and island gifts. Their selection is bigger, and their prices are better. Sorry ABC, I’ll always remember you fondly — but when I’m in Kauai I’ll go Kmart.

Reliable source for value priced everything for your vacation needs. Outside Costco and Walmart, you can still get OK prices without making that long drive as these stores are scattered around HI. Avoid the way overpriced tourist areas that gouge you. Here is a good acceptable standard to look for your essentials in terms of prices(be wary that there are lower prices but this is the max I think one should pay): 1) Boogie Boards: $ 15 — $ 17 2) Hawaiian chocolate covered nuts and gift packs: $ 3 to $ 6 depending on size. 3) Snorkel gear: $ 6 cheaper $ 10 higher quality. 4) Aqua shoes: $ 8 to $ 10 5) Goggles: $ 5 to $ 9 6) Board shorts: $ 20 7) Tee shirts/tank tops: $ 5 to $ 10. 8) Sandals: $ 6 – 7 9) Beach Mats: $ 2 max! You get the drift. So be smart and head here for your gear. More money to spend on food, drinks and gas!
