A local told us we had to try the food here while we were visiting. I’m glad we did! We had the yellow curry noodles and the pork saimin. Both dishes were so good they make you involuntarily close your eyes when you put a bite in your mouth. We also like the fruit stand out front, and that you can get a chilled coconut there. The staff were friendly and genuinely wanted us to be happy with our meal. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Kauai!

Stopped in for lunch and over ordered because everything looked so good. The garlic coconut pasta is AMAZING. The staff is very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place!

I’ve had better soup and noodles everywhere else I’ve eaten. And anything that requires batter ends up being a TON of batter. we were bummed out. I’m not picky when it comes to food. I don’t mind spending 80 $ on food But this place wasn’t even sort of good. It was just bad all around. Really disappointing.

Expensive and gross! Over cooked shrimp. Orange chicken was disgusting. Noodle dish drenched in a watery sauce. Egg rolls were saturated in grease and nearly inedible. Top ramen noodle with dry shredded chicken on top $ 15.95. Nothing tasted fresh. Worst Asian food I’ve ever experienced. Gross!

I’m giving this two stars ONLY because the service was wonderful. The food was seriously awful. The Thai iced tea was awful, the POG juice was great but it’s hard to mess up POG juice. We got coconut shrimp as an appetizer and the shrimp wasn’t deveined, gross. I got the coconut curry noodles with veggies and chicken… 3 small bites of chicken… Maybe 5 small pieces of broccoli, and sauce(coconut curry) that wasn’t sauce at all. It was soup. And some noodles. Boyfriend got dry chow mein noodles with veggies and chicken. Which was slightly better then mine but he was starving and barely touched it. Cost us SIXTYDOLLARS. I nearly burst a vein in my forehead when he told me how much the check was once we had left. SAVEYOURMONEY! EATSOMEWHEREELSE! But they did have a bar and all of the employees were so lovely I’d consider going for a drink. Also they offer Hawaiian shave ice, which we didn’t try, but it looked delicious.

Had lunch here this weekend. We got the pork sandwich, and a couple of the dry noodle dishes. Found them all to be very fresh with interesting subtle flavors. Nothing was oily. The beach vibe was relaxed, the service friendly. We were very pleased all-in-all. Will visit them again.

The ladies are friendly enough. We ate there on a Thursday evening about 5:45pm. We had a long day of touring and we were hungry. This place was available so we were game. We also saw a zagat and trip advisor sign so how bad could it be? I ordered the pork with tomatoes and bell peppers. Overall, it was too salty. My husband had the Kalua pork and cabbage. The pork tasted a bit stale and was also too salty. My friend ordered the coconut shrimp and that was good. My other friend ordered the battered chicken and he said it was dry. When he complained, they wanted to charge him extra for more sauce. After a bit of discussion, they just wanted to make it right, so A for effort. The food was ok, but they need to adjust the flavoring. It was meh– I hope they tweak their cooking so the food will taste better.

Ever been to a restaurant, and after you left you wanted to cry because you just dropped $ 35 bills on the worst meal you’ve ever eaten? A giant turd. This is that place. I was recommended by a local to go to Saimin #9 for noodles. For whatever reason, I figured The Noodle house had to be pretty decent as dishes such as Chicken Low Mein are not brain teaser dishes. I mean how much better could noodles cooked in a wok in oil change, right? I should have ran when I saw that a plate of chicken low mein was $ 10.95, but hey this Kauai right? My bad, my mistake, I mistakenly didn’t let Unilocal hold my hand. SO my kid orders the Thai Iced Tea. It sucked. I’m not sure what it was, but lets just say we didn’t care for it. My Low mein comes and my wife orders some dancing spicy shrimp… This dish was particularly nasty. This is the first time that I can ever remember my wife offering me and my son a shrimp off the plate and we declined. We will never reject a shrimp… EVER… I mean it was seriously nasty. Now understand, I am a white boy who did live in Thailand for three years and consequently I ate a LOT of low mein with chicken plates. But I am not a noodle snob, I still enjoy a plate of Panda Express noodles or bulk noodles at $ 5.95 from Food Land. Yesterday was one of those days, where I wanted to take a bite and refuse to pay, but I couldn’t. It was Thanksgiving and I felt like I had been violated, $ 35 for 2 nasty dishes and a gross tea. After we left, my stomach was churning and burning. As we passed the 5 star taco trucks and the first Chicken in a Barrel, I watched the mobs of happy tourists devouring their al pastor and succulent char broiled breasts. All day long I suffered and sulked, because of our sucky over priced lunch. I apologize for being be a hater. but I usually only give reviews when I desperately think people should avoid a place at all costs. Maybe what got a bad batch, but I think not. This place seriously Blows, go somewhere else!!!

Had the spicey thai soup and udon noodle soup. The udon soup was ok. Nothing to rave about but the spicey thai soup was pretty gross. I have never had spicey thai soup before but i am pretty sure its not supposed to taste very chemically. I eat anything and i couldnt finish it. But it gets e stars because the service was amazing! Our waitress was friendly, attentive and shared stories. She even gave us a really nice desert to go! Wonderful woman but the food left something to be desired. Especially at the expensive prices.

My husband and I went here for a late lunch. We love noodle soup back home so we thought this would be great. We ordered the egg rolls and Thai spicy noodle soup with tofu. The egg rolls were hot, oily but terrible. There was absolutely no flavor to this. The noodle soup was bland to say the least. The broth was vegetarian — it tasted like water with ketchup mixed in it was not at all spicy. There was no preparation whatsoever done other than the tofu which was okay but overall, instant ramen has more flavor and spice than this. If you’re expecting Phở or Ramen soup like back in mainland, it would be better to try elsewhere. definitely disappointed and would not be back.

This was a pretty nice stop. Hawaii was getting hot and we needed a cold drink. What’s perfect other than coconut and shaved ice? Felt so refreshed and relaxed, it was simply paradise!

Came here the night before for shaved ice with the girlfriend. The perfect dessert, lots of flavors. Came back tonight for delicious yellow curry chicken noodles, and chicken pad see ew. Make sure to ask for medium spice level. Yummy! Got more shaved ice for dessert tonight.

Very disappointed, we have been here in the past and it was pretty good but this time was awful! The only reason that I gave 1 star was because 0 was not an option. My husband had an egg noodle dish that was dry and flavorless and tasted like the noodles were still raw. Mine was the Noodle House Special Shrimp and was swimming in broth(this was NOT a soup dish) All it tasted like was Sambal(chili paste). the best thing was the Coconut shrimp which were good and nice large shrimp the portions were also good size but if it isn’t good size doesn’t matter. The service was also very poor and the waitress could not even answer simple questions about the menu. They seem to be more focused on selling Shave Ice than running the restaurant. Make up your mind are you a restaurant or a Shave Ice stand?

The staff was nice and we were served quickly. The food was bleh. The server recommended the Saimin soup. He told me it was very popular. The soup was bland and they charged me $ 1.50 for 6 additional won ton chips. I asked for the chips to try and create some substance and flavor in the soup. As a last resort, I dumped a bunch of chili sauce in the soup too. Nothing was going to save that dishwater tasting soup.

Some of the friendliest service on the island! The server we had was incredibly friendly and personable. He even showed us photos on his phone of the 100 lb. fish he had recently caught. Really made us feel welcome and more like locals than visitors. As for the food, I loved my yellow curry noodles. It really was the sauce that did it for me. There’s just something about curry sauces I find completely addictive. By the time I cleared my plate, I was left wishing I had rice or something to sop up all the saucy goodness. At least there was a sizeable portion of vegetables on top to help me believe I was being somewhat balanced and healthful in my eating despite my indulgence. It was only when I learned the woman who I think is the owner is originally from Bangkok that it made sense to me why the food was so good.

Just stopped in here to buy some fresh cut fruit as it was advertised all over and an employee at a nearby business recommended this place to me. I got fresh cut pineapple and papaya. The lady working was nice and even gave me a cup of water to go. Not sure how any of the food is, but I know they do fresh fruit smoothies as well.

We should have read the reviews first. They seem to have an off night. We waited 45 minutes for not so tasty food. As a business owner, when a customer’s order isn’t right, the least you can do is offer some type of compensation.

The first time we came here for a sit down dinner, we were blown away by the service! This gal that was our waitress was beyond friendly and helpful. I think her name was Lisa. She is a middle-aged woman with a wrist tattoo of a plumeria. She was fantastic. The food was awesome. I ordered the sweet and spicy Thai noodle soup, which is rice noodles(not my fave, but the broth was excellent). My mom got some kind of chicken noodle dish that was very similar to yakisoba and it was very tasty. My dad ordered the garlic coconut noodle dish with shrimp that was AWESOME. My mom and I were both stealing bites. The sauce was just excellent and so creamy. The owner of the place is also the cook, and she does an amazing job. Her husband was helping out that night and we talked with him for a bit. All three were so friendly! The second time we came, we went in for take-out. None of the familiar people were there, but instead a young guy and a different woman. Only one other couple were currently dining and the staff did not greet us when we entered, or when my dad and I say down at their shaved ice bar to order to go. Finally the young guy turned around and said it would be just a minute because they were in the middle of a shift change. I said sure, no problem. But many minutes passed by and it appeared that the two were arguing over tips or something. Then another employee who was not on duty began arguing loudly and it was very awkward. The cook finally came out and took our to go order. The food is great, and I highly recommend their coconut garlic noodles, but the younger staff needs to up their service a bit. Keep the drama out from the customers’ view and ears. The staff doing the shift change should have taken our order before continuing, at the rate they were going. But again, the food was delicious.

was craving a good bowl of saimin, but didn’t want to drive all the way to lihue for it. we decided to come here. the service was excellent. the girl that took our order was very friendly! she let me order the keiki(child) saimin, which would be between a small/medium sized portion for an adult. i liked that the broth wasn’t too salty. the noodles were cooked just right, too. my dad had a noodle curry dish. i think they gear the spiciness towards the tourists here. it wasn’t at all spicy, but the flavor of the curry was good.
