Posting from my room now… This is my wife and I 2nd stay here and would not stay anywhere else on the island. The friendly service from Hans is remarkable, the cleanliness around the entire grounds Is impressive and the comfort and privacy of our suites is the best. STAYHERE you will not regret it.

My husband and I stayed in the Yellow Ginger Suite for 7 nights and had a lovely time. The Inn is located on a beautiful upcountry road and I walked up the road each morning to the trailhead for the Moalepe Trail, one of the best trails in the area with beautiful views down to the ocean far below and the green mountains above. The hike, at least for the first two miles, which is as far as I was able to go in the time I had, is moderate to easy and well maintained.(One day I passed a young guy running and twice met an older woman with a walking stick, the only people I ever saw on the trail.) The Inn itself is beautifully and simply decorated with painted exotic flowers and trees and birds on the walls and ceilings. The continental breakfasts in the shared area of the Inn were simple and good, with host Hans eager to provide. We met some lovely people from Germany and from Canada over breakfast. Our unit had an extra bed in the main room where our kids slept one night when their hostel down in town proved inadequate, and the management was very understanding. The tub is a high step-in in that particular suite, so probably not appropriate for an infirm person. Shower and bedding(things I care about) were great. This particular unit is in the tree tops and we were able to listen to and watch the mynas and the cardinals(and, of course, the ubiquitous moas crowing), and we enjoyed the hammock out back in the lush yard. The electric oven top is weird and my daughter and I burned three batches of popcorn before giving up. Also small very high microwave which I couldn’t reach.(It’s about 15 minutes down to the town of Kapaa on a straight-shot country road to get some hot food.) Our German neighbors showed us their unit, the Green Rose Suite(the other upstairs suite) and it was very large, open, and had a lovely big deck with eating table and comfortable chairs. Our only complaint about our own unit was that it had no direct access to the outdoors(though there were huge windows everywhere), and we would probably opt for the Green Rose Suite next time for the deck. We always stay by the sea in Hawaii and had done so in Kapaa the previous week, so the upcountry scene was a lovely and lyrical break. PS. The owner Michael has a rather extensive Beatles museum in his downstairs. We didn’t see it, but we were told by other guests that there is a very cool car and other memorabilia.

My husband and I stayed at the Kauai Country Inn for 6 of the 10 nights that we stayed in Kauai. I have to say that we were VERY impressed with the suite as well as the quality of service and accommodations we received while there. We stayed in the Orchid Suite which was perfect for the two of us(but could realistically sleep 4 people) and seemed even bigger because of the efficient utilization of space. The room was lovely and very clean. The sheets were soft and obviously high quality. The bedding was also perfect for the climate and the pillows were very comfy. The towels were plush and big(not like those tiny hotel towels) and all the seating was super comfy! The continental breakfast was more than I expected… most mornings it consisted of a variety of oatmeals, cookies, muffins, croissants, any kind of toast you could want, yogurt, bagels, coffee, tea… even fresh fruit picked off the fruit trees on the grounds. They set out more food than probably all the guests could eat! The Inn-keeper, Hans was most helpful. He was very kind and accommodating. He was very prompt in addressing requests and made us feel so welcome. We got married while we were there and I mentioned to him days prior to the wedding that I would be needing to use the steamer for my dress. He remembered! When I woke up the morning of my wedding, the steamer was waiting for me outside the door. Hans truly cares about the comfort of the guests and it is evident in the quality of service. As mentioned earlier, I got married while here so I had guests coming and going. It was never an issue. My suite had it’s own entrance and the room was more than spacious enough to accommodate everyone. At one point there were 10 people at my place for dinner. We even used the gas grill to cook for everyone which was right outside the room! The cost of the stay per night is very reasonable. You can’t find accommodations like this anywhere on the island for this amount. We stayed at a beach resort for the last four days of our stay and I have to say that the resort could not even begin to compare to the Kauai Country Inn. I was very pleased with our stay and would highly recommend staying here. If I go back to Kauai I will never stay anywhere but the Kauai Country Inn!

Ein kleines B&B mit 4 Suiten und dem einzigen Beatles Museum der Staaten! Kleines Frühstück gibt es auch! So schön und gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtet! Ich würde nie wo anders in Kauai übernachten!
