Great place to satisfy craving for a wonderful breakfast in Kapaa! I’ve been in Kauai for a week and came here after reading reviews on their super tasty pancakes. I had the Macadamia Nut pancake with coconut syrup. Wow! One word of warning. The pancake covered the whole plate so think twice about getting two unless you have someone to share with. The waitress was very friendly and stopped by several times to chat and make sure everything was good. Plan on going back real soon. Looks like a bunch more hiking coming up to work this off.

Word on the street is this place gets HELLA packed. Started our morning off here and to our luck we beat the crowds and got seated/served pretty quickly. The place was full of tourists but there are also some«regular» locals that drop on for their«usual»… Unsure if its family owned but all the«Aunties» are super nice and get your food out pretty quickly. I had the«make your own omelette» consisting of Kalua Pig & onions, and ordered the mac nut french toast. My breakfast partner had the eggs benedict and mac nut pancakes(YUMM). If you get there before 8am you’re sure to beat the crowds and get seated quickly to enjoy the ono food!

The food was good but there were some service problems. The hostess was a little rude and we found a hair in both my husband’s coffee mug and my french toast. The service was also slow and tables that were seated after us were getting their orders in before anyone had stopped by our table. I did enjoy the coconut french toast quite a bit(once they brought me a new one) and they were nice enough to comp my meal. My husband enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. The fruit salad was also pretty good, but not exceptional.

Delicious food. I had the corned beef hash and rice with two eggs. And a side of spam! My friend had he hungry mans breakfast with the mahi mahi, and he couldn’t even finish it! It came with coffee AND guava juice. My other friend had their special which was an omelette with crab cakes and bacon smothered in hollandaise sauce. Insane!!! Great service. Fast. Friendly. Island vibe.

Great place to eat. We have had breakfast and lunch there and found both to be wonderful. Their pancakes are unique, really large and come in a few different flavored. You also have the choice of maple or coconut syrup. I tried and enjoyed both. My wife had an omelet and it too was large which enabled me to help her eat it. The first time we went I had the loco moco which was the special of the day. I didn’t even know what it was but sure was glad I ordered it. It too was large and delicious. A base of fried(or white) rice with hamburger meat, slices of Spam, and eggs on top made to order and covered in brown gravy. Wow! I plan to get that again before we leave after our month long vacation The service has been wonderful each of the three times we have been there over the last couple weeks.

Wow, this was a good breakfast. From my Luau Omelette to my wife’s classic Loco Moco, Kountry Kitchen was an incredible place to eat! Great service, and even better food! I got a nice side of toast and hashbrowns with my omelette, and it was very nice and filling! Not to mention it was one of the best omelettes I’ve ever had, if not the best! The kalua pork was fantastic and they made it nice and cheesy. My wife’s Loco Moco was PERFECTLY seasoned. One of the best seasoned pieces of meat I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. If you’re driving through Kapaa and you’re hungry, come here!

This was my absolute favorite breakfast spot on the entire island. It’s usually busy, so expect to wait. My Mediterranean omelette was to die for and a perfect vegetarian option for me. Friendly service each time I visited! Portions are plentiful and prices are fair. Check it out!

Kountry Kitchen has had a face lift! Things are so much more modern and the dining area has been opened up. A very nice redo. Breakfast is what it always has been, good hearty food well prepared. Very friendly service as well with constant check-ins with the customers. A tip: there is a parking lot on the south side of the building.

Great hearty breakfast food and customer service Pancakes are huge. Don’t get too ambitious! Downside — «Fruit salad» was a sliced banana when I ordered with my meal… I guess that counts? Seating policy — they will seat according to group size over order. For example, if there is a 4 seat table, a party of 4 that arrives after a party of 2 will be seated at the table. It’s a little weird when you’ve been waiting, but I understand that they’re being efficient. Restroom — prior reviews said there’s only one, technically there’s two separate single restrooms. They labeled one as men and one as women, but use whichever is free. Overall good stop when you’re on the road

This is the one restaurant that we made sure to visit twice during our one week stay. My wife ordered a ham and cheese omelet. The side was pineapple and they happily fulfilled her request to put the fruit inside the omelet. She raved that it was delicious both times she ordered it. The second visit she had cornbread which was great with the coconut syrup. I had the loco moco over pork adobo fried rice which was pretty good. The second time I had the sampler plate with pancakes. It was fantastic, especially with the coconut syrup on the pancakes. I wish they were open later so that we could have had breakfast for dinner a time or two. The staff was very friendly both times and we will definitely eat there again if we are ever back on the island.

We came here for breakfast and it was pretty good; however, the service was lacking. We didn’t see our server very often and our waters were generally empty, but they got us in and out pretty fast so it’s okay. My husband got the Loco Moco and I got Eggs Benedict. Both were good and I’d order them again. However, our waitress never told us about the specials. We saw some other people order the specials(tamales and a special Eggs Benedict) and they looked amazing — I was sad that we didn’t know about them. Not a big deal though, food was still good. There were also a lot of locals here — which means you know this place has to be the real deal. They have a really big menu so I’d definitely come back here and try some more options.

Stopped here for brunch while driving back to Princeville from Lihue after a morning helicopter tour. Though my friend and I stopped here on a whim(after finding it thanks to the Unilocal app), we were pleasantly surprised. We parked a bit down the street(closer to the Olympic Café) and walked the short bit to the Kountry Kitchen. Once there, we were seated quickly and ordered coffee. A male member of the restaurant staff was speedily making his way around the restaurant(which seemed a bit odd, considering there weren’t a ton of people in the place) and got us our coffee, spilling some onto our table in his rush. He wiped it up quickly and made some quirky magician-esque movements, saying«you saw nothing!!!» and went on his way. Humorous enough, but seriously… it’s okay, random restaurant man… you can slow down. Haha. Our waitress was over quickly, took our orders… and, before we knew it, our food had arrived! I had ordered a Luau Omelette(Homeade Kalua pig, spinach, cheddar cheese and onions) and a side of the fruit(bananas were the fruit option for the day). I had ordered a side of the cornbread too, and the slice was pretty large. I enjoyed bites of the cornbread and switched between the guava jelly and butter. The omelette itself was delicious… though I’m probably bias to anything that includes kalua pig. I would totally order it again. There are plenty of other delicious-sounding options on the menu though(and they serve breakfast all day, so yay for that!). TL;DR Delicious omelettes. Pleasantly surprised by how quickly everything came out of the kitchen, though the guy serving coffee *can* slow down. :) Don’t spill the coffeeeeeeeeee! No substitutions, but pricing is generally reasonable for the island. Worth a visit.

Macadamia French Toast is everything! Definitely a Kauai breakfast diner with walls of décor consisting of various figurines and paintings of… you guessed it-roosters. We got the kids sampler and 1 adult sampler which was more than enough food for 2 adults and one toddler. NOTE: They don’t do substitutions. They provide juice in sippy cups for toddler.

Great spot for breakfast and Hawaiian food! The fruit and juice were both fresh and delicious. Macadamia nut pancakes plus coconut syrup was an amazing combo. Good quality bacon too. The service was also very good, my coffee was always full. Definitely recommend this place, even though it doesn’t look like much from the outside.

Hmmm… I should have gotten the hint from the name. For some reason I didn’t get the Hawaii feel here, more like a country feel in the garden isle of Kauai. The Kountry pancake is pretty good and plenty to share. I got the macadamia banana as suggested by others and they are the perfect pair. The loco moco was a let down for me. The egg wasn’t as funny as I prefer it to be(I specifically asked for runny egg) and I found the burger patty a little on the drier side. I also saw our next table over complaining about their order of bacon. It was swimming in oil. Service is one of the better ones we had on the island. If you do come, the Kountry pancake is the way to go here!

Delicious breakfast! The restaurant is really bright and open. Their juice of the day was pineapple ginger, which was perfect. We shared the Eggs Benedict and the Macadamia Nut Pancake. The pancakes are HUGE! Definitely just one is enough.

Came here for breakfast on our 2nd to last day on Kauai. I had an intense craving for pancakes, and, coming from the SF Bay Area, I can come up with at least 3 places near my home where one can order delicious pancakes at any time of day or night. So, I’m serious about my favorite breakfast food. I understand that California in general tends to have huge portions, and try not to have unrealistic expectations elsewhere. I’m happy to report that the(gigantic) banana pancake that I ordered at the Kountry Kitchen did not disappoint. It was buttery and cakey and amazing. My boyfriend ordered the sampler plate and all was good. Service was great too, which I know has been an issue in several previous reviews. We were seated right away, server was attentive, food came out quickly(good thing, because I was starved), and no grumpy mention of cash being the preferred method of payment when I handed over my card.(«Cash Preferred» is printed in the menu. I try to use cash when possible, but dining establishments also need to keep up with the rest of the world. Plastic is the way it goes nowadays.) I’m trying to figure out how to eat here again before we fly out tomorrow morning.

Walked in and went cuckoo for«Loco Moco»! Local favorite in mid-town Kapaa that seems to be visited by locals. Received a warm and gracious welcome from Art and then turned to size up the dining room which was an open concept that was brightly lit from the sun gleaming. Having just flown in from the states, I was craving a local dish and went with a staple. Beef patty covered in brown gravy with two sunny side eggs that was rich in flavor and sensational in taste along with two big scoops of rice it was more than enough to eat. Prices are reasonable and staff was attentive. Big fan!

Unbedingt probieren!

This place is pretty popular especially for breakfast :) no need for air conditioning because it’s right by the beach and the ocean breeze is mighty cool! Booths are nicely spaced but the tables in the middle are super cramped! I was tryin to eat my loco moco and this inconsiderate lady(late 20s) who could have just asked me to scoot my chair in since I was sitting there first kept pushing her chair into the back of mine. SHOOOOOOOOOT the ghetto southside chick was going to come out of me buuuuuuut I kept my cool: P My husband was afraid I was gonna unleash the ghetto but I simply turned around and politely said«Excuse me — I’m trying to eat my food and you keep pushing the back of my chair.» «OHIMSORRY!» said Dumb Girl 1. Ayeeeee other than that — the food was okay. The corn bread was crumby, the loco moco was bland(Mark’s Place has DABESTLOCOMOCO) but their Kalua pork was delicious! Three stars because the servers are friendly BUT they could be a bit more friendly! I know it’s busy but SMILE A LITTLEMO’ people! Enjoy! Aloha!

This place is pretty good in getting your order and food out in a very quick amount of time! Parking is available in many different places. There is a lot to the side of the building, in front of the restaurant or on the street. Inside is very clean and can fit a ton of tables for any sized party you can think of. The sweetbread french toast is pretty good, its very fluffy and pretty. They only have the regular syrup flavor though. . The hash browns are crisp on the outside and has a nice potato flavor to compliment the omelet. If you like artichoke hearts, then you have to get the garden omelet. They have real grilled artichoke hearts. There is nothing more amazing about this breakfast then popping that grilled goodness into your mouth. The coffee is okay. It is a little bold, slightly bitter and burnt.

Service was poor, food was much better… Good french Toast and pancake.
