OK, from the outside, this place doesn’t look that great. We were skeptical /would be another tourist spot. Good news is that the service is on point, food is quite good(portion sizes are large), and the drinks are not watered down. Definitely a spot worth checking out.

Super good Hawaiian pork on the menu. A great selection of salads with plenty of other items to choose from. They also serve breakfast.

This was the only place my husband and I ate at twice while we were on Kauai. We ate here our first night and shared an order of fish and chips with a side order of macaroni salad. Our waitress was super nice, we loved the big portion size and it all tasted great! Our second time we ordered the seafood platter and some drinks. Once again food was great and our waiter was super nice. The only complaint I have is drinks were very expensive and happy hour was only about $ 1 off.

Great place for breakfast.(May be it also work for lunch and dinner but I did not check). Chill, not pricy(with respect to SF). not crowded. It feels good.

We just had a terrible experience at this establishment. First, it’s a slow night, and we waited forever to see a waitress. We were seated at a sticky table with 2⁄3 of the silver wear — no knives unless you requested them. Second, we had three small children. There’s no kids menu –and the menu is 4-pages single spaced, so there kitchen obviously isn’t overworked. When we asked about what the options for children, we were told that they could make suggestions but had to order off the menu they had. Ok. So they had typical bar food, so we ordered them chicken tenders and French fries. They were $ 17 and $ 18 each, and came out on platters. Seven huge tenders and a plate full of fries. Each. They couldn’t get through half of it. It was ridiculous. No one should eat that much food in one sitting. And the food took forever to come out of the kitchen. It was unreal! We were there for a good hour before we saw food. Or knives. Or water refills. Finally the bill comes and for 5 of us it was $ 120 — with the gratuity written in on our credit card bill by the waitress! So NOT recommended for children, families, people who like silverware or normal portions, or not being totally ripped off.

Waste of time! Generic food! No need to waste time going to a mediocre restaurant when there’s so many more to choose from. Dont go here.

We couldn’t complain about the portions or service here. We ordered the Kalua pig burritos and they were huge. So much we couldn’t finish them and they were delicious.

We had the Banana MacNut pancake, Portuegese sausage then Ahi Tuna with rice and two over easy eggs! The pancake serving is huge and can be shared for two! We are pleased with the serving as well as the service! The owner served our meal! He seems a hands on business owner! I will return and will eat here again!

Came for breakfast — the view is great and it’s cool to sit street side and watch all the cars go by — our service was good, the waitress was nice and attentive — our food was blah. I had the breakfast wrap which has bacon, cheese, eggs, and potatoes wrapped in a spinach tortilla. I was disappointed. It didn’t have any flavor, the bacon was over cooked, and it had an odd smell. — I think for the quality and taste, they are definitely over priced. — I came here like 8 years ago and loved it, and so I was excited but overall I left disappointed with the food.

Funny, I wish j read my review before I came back because I ordered the shrimp salad again and asked without tomatoes and it came loaded. LOL. I didn’t return it tho, I powered through. Just a huge salad for one person. However, my husband and I came back a second time and shared the fish and chips and I must say, the fish was really really good. Perfectly battered and melt in your mouth. I would definitely come back and get the fish and chips. Our server was awesome and we had her the two times we came during this trip. We like sitting in the booths near the street. We had a nice time and would return. My husband for some reason is in love with this place :)

I’ll be back. The Kalua pig quesadilla was amazing! Better than the Carne Asada Burrito which had good flavor just not amazing. The portions where huge. My hubby had to take home about half his burrito(rare). Waffles were good. Kinda pricey but reasonable for what you got. ONOONOONO Kaua’i Pie. We stopped in another night just for that. Server was friendly. Stopped by frequently to fill up our waters. Got a window seat, nice view of the street.

I absolutely fell in love with this place! The service is wonderful. We had the best waitress ever. The breakfast potatoes are so delicious. The bloody Mary’s are amazingly good. My husband left his credit card at the restaurant and the waitress was an honest woman and turned it into her manager and we were able to retrieve the card as soon as my husband realized he had left it. Thanks for awesome service and delicious food.

When we visit Kauai we always eat here at least once. Sometimes we just come for the Kauai pie. This time we had dinner. I had the seafood platter which is a combo of fried shrimp, squid and fish. It was very tasty. My husband had the blackened ono sandwich and enjoyed it. The service is decent but a little indifferent. The beer was served very cold which is tgecway i like it. All in all a decent bar and grill type experience.

It’s on old dirty bar with poor service. We sat at the bar and waited 15 minutes to get a drink and there were only a few other people sitting at tables in the restaurant. We had to ask for everything and she would never ask us if we needed anything, and then we would ask for something and she acted annoyed with us. We then asked for a custom ordered drink and the bartender Kristen told us there would be an up charge, which was fine, but then we didn’t get our drinks for a while after that. We ordered the ribeye and it was fatty and vegetables were dry. We wish this was a better experience because it’s such a great location and such great potential.

Came in here on a not so busy morning. The hostess was really nice and our waitress was awesome! It was my friends 21st birthday and the waitress bought my friend her first drink! The food was good. My Caesar salad was so-so, not worth $ 12 I think. But the French toast I tried was yummy!!! I love their waffle fries. I’ll be back!

Meh. Got the monster burrito and it was just meh. Plain burrito on a plain tortilla with very little flavor. Maybe the other dishes are better, but this one … not good.

Bloody Mary’s were DELICIOUS!!! The kahlua burrito was to die for. And HUGE!!! I shared it. The salsa was so amazing. The service was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Kind of looks like a little dive bar that’s all outside seating but it was pretty decent. I enjoyed it!

We came here for lunch and our server,(can’t remember name but he was new and from Minnesota) was really nice and did a good job but that is the only positive thing I have to say about this place. I had a avocado, brie and sun dried tomato on sourdough appetizer because they ran out of sourdough bread for the panini. The sourdough bread it came on was not toasted, dried out and there was no sun-dried tomato unless you count a red smear on top of the avocado. It was sprinkled with some weird herbs that just didn’t taste good at all. My mom had the blackened ono sandwich and this poor fish died a couple times as it was severely overcooked. It was so dry it was hard for her to choke down. My husband ordered the Kauai wrap and said he didn’t want any cheese because he is vegan. It came with cheese but he didn’t want to be wasteful so he picked out the cheese. When the manager came to check on our table, my husband said to him(very nicely I may add), «Our server is great and I know he is new but I want you to know that I ordered my wrap with no cheese. A lot of vegans are really strict and would have been mad to get cheese. You may want to let him know this for the future». The manager said«Thanks for coming in» and walked away!!! WHAT!!! We couldn’t believe his attitude. We didn’t want anything just wanted to let him to be able to talk to his new server. We certainly could have complained about my food and my mom’s food as neither one of us finished our meals. I do not recommend this restaurant and there are so many more to choose from in the area.

[Interior & Ambience] This location is a semi-open restaurant. Meaning it’s covered, but there is no AC and the trade winds and fans are what keeps you cool. I think the best tables in the house are the ones that neighbor the road. It’s a great place to people watch and catch a glimpse of the Kauai lifestyle. Like I mentioned, I only came here for breakfast but I did notice a small bar so I’m assuming this place might get busy at night since Kauai doesn’t have too many bars. [Food] Breakfast Quesadilla — Your typical quesadilla with cheese, avocado, salsa, and BACON. It doesn’t look that big, but it’s actually pretty filling especially when you add in the starches. [Overall] Service and food was pretty good. I’d say this is one of the lesser busy breakfast restaurants in Kapaa. I also heard rad reviews about their dessert so I definitely need to come back again.

olympic café sits above the main drag that runs through old kapa’a town, which is kuhio highway. if you can get a table/booth near the window, it’s a cool view while you’re dining. they have a really awesome breakfast menu with quite a bit of variety and such large portions! i would recommending splitting a plate if you’re not that big of an eater. my husband got pancakes with a strawberry compote and i got some sausage, eggs and hash browns. also got a papaya to share with everyone. my husband’s friends got a burrito which was gigantic, and another pancake/egg combo type dish. the service was a bit slow, even on a slow weekday morning. maybe they’re just on kauai time? hehe i will have to come back to check out their lunch/dinner menu. i bet this would be a really cool place to be for first saturdays to people watch!
