Not sure what people are expecting… It’s a station. With shrimp. The garlic shrimp was tasty, and the rice was white and sticky! My wife’s coconut shrimp and onion rings were fried and tasty! The fountain drinks were not at all watered down! Service here is quick and to the point. Not quite«soup nazi» level efficient, but along the same lines. Soft drink refills are an additional 50¢. The décor is Chernobyl chic(post-meltdown). I could see how your milage may vary, considering how the cooks seemed to be a couple of teenage boys, but they cooked our food well. This place is as «what you see is what you get» as it can get. All in all, Shrimp Station delivers exactly what it advertises: shrimp in a spartan setting. If you crave shrimp, I’m not sure how you could go wrong.

We love this place! Came a few years ago and have been dying to get back! It was just as good as I remembered. My husband got the spicy Thai shrimp with red potatoes and I of course got the coconut shrimp plate with fries and the chili sauce. Best damn coconut shrimp ever! They are big shrimp and I could not finish the whole plate(and I can eat a lot). Kama’aina gets a free small drink :) will always go here every time I’m ever on Kauai. For 12 bucks, you can’t beat it for the amount of food and how good it is. Thank you shrimp station for being just as good as I remember 3 years ago!

Pretty pricey for what you get. We got garlic and coconut shrimp. But I guess average for the island. The garlic was good but nothing like giovannis if you are trying to get that. however the coconut shrimp was really good– esp the dip they give you with it! The service was fast and we got our food really fast which was great.

Good dishes! We had the Thai spicy & the garlic butter one. The only bummer is having to peel them but we knew that going in. Coconut shrimp & Fish & chips were also very good. The«service«was ok. The guy taking our order couldn’t be less helpful if he tried. It’s a good little spot. Worth a stop. Outdoor seating only with ceiling fans on the patio.

Good food but they don’t clean the shrimp properly. Items we tried: *Thai shrimp — good but very spicy. They do not clean the shrimp completely so you have to peel them thus they lose the flavor *Garlic shrimp — this dish by far had the best flavor. I can’t rave enough about how good the sauce was but once again just like the Thai shrimp, they don’t completely clean them and by peeling them they lose all the flavor. *Beer batter shrimp — Very tasty but some of them had shells underneath the batter which was disappointing. *coconut shrimp — as expected just delicious Overall a good meal with some disappointment. The price was also decent at about $ 13 a plate they give a decent portion of food.

Coconut shrimp! Coconut shrimp! You can’t go wrong with any choice. The shrimp are so tasty and delicious! Right flavor. After a day at the beach this was the best way to finish our last day in Kauia.

Must try: coconut shrimp and garlic shrimp plate. Generous portion and size for the shrimp and the flavor is on point. There’s two shrimp stations on this island. The other location has better reviews but I honestly like this one more. The sauces are amazing and worth the extra pay. Best sauce is papaya ginger sauce

Not so great today. Two young kids who over cooked the coconut shrimp and garlic shrimp we ordered. The rice was not good, overcooked, mushy, and bland. Has potential, I think we just came on a bad cook day. Big shrimp, just not well prepared. Really liked the papaya ginger sauce though. Service is lacking, like eating a meal catered in a barn. Not very clean, serve your self from the few condiment options.

Had the garlic shrimp and coconut shrimp! Pretty good value for shrimp. The garlic shrimp was amazing, the coconut was alright but wasn’t amazing. Friendly staff :)

This shrimp station is cutting corners on their food. I went to the same shrimp station in Waimea town yesterday, and they provide more shrimps per serve than this Kapaa one.(Same price)

My wife loved this place! Therefore, I do too. :-) She loves spicy shrimp, but most trucks usually squirt sarracha sauce on the shrimp and call it the day… not Shrimp Station. They actually developed their sauce with actual hot peppers. I had the coconut shrimp and also loved that. Sheesh! When both of us love the same place? That’s something to Unilocal about.

Disappointed in my shrimp tacos. No whole shrimp as I would have expected. All ground up and mixed with sauce. Not very tasty. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, some of the other stuff looked to be pretty good. Shrimp tacos. not so good.

My Dad loved Shrimp Station, I have to say it was pretty Good however didn’t like the shrimp tacos being cut up into little pieces it tasted good but seemed weird. Parents had beer battered shrimp & fries they loved it. I had shrimp tacos they were good, you get 2 huge tacos I saved one for later. I recommend it for a quick hole in the wall taco shop …

3rd time eating here while staying 5 days. Tried other restaurants but here the taste is the best! Must have shirmp taco!!! I just made order of 3 items and 1 is for togo. Will be earing the shrimp taco on the plane! ^^ I like this location better than Waimea since this one is partially indoor. Will miss the food! Definitely!!!

We stopped in here for a quick bite. Since it was between lunch and dinner, we didn’t want to eat to much so we shared a shrimp cocktail and the garlic shrimp. Some people aren’t sauce people — those people are crazy. I though the sauce was amazing and it went perfectly with the two scoops of rice that come with it. I wanted to come back again but there were so many places that I wanted to try on vacation so I never made it back but next time I’m in Kapaa — I’ll be there!

Yum! Had the coconut shrimp and sweet chili garlic shrimp. You’ll get messy but it is worth every sloppy napkin. Consider it a step up from street vendor food. Reasonable pricing. Ate here more than once(drool!)

Every time I make it to Kauai I have to go to the shrimp station at least a couple times. The flavor of the shrimp is so tasty. My favorite is the cajun shrimp, but you do have to peel the shrimp. That’s how fresh it is. Most people don’t read the menu and get surprised when I have to peel there food. You just have to make sure if you don’t want to peel your food, order off the other side of the menu. Love the coconut battered shrimp! Thick pieces of coconut fried in the batter. If you love shrimp definitely recommend this place it’s amazing.

Great shrimp! We had the coconut shrimp and sweet chili shrimp. Just beware, the sweet chili shrimp come with their shells — so eating is a hands on activity! The coconut shrimp was slightly over fried, but still tasted great. Quick service too!

We came to this Shrimp Station a few times. Once while we were staying in Kapaa and once while driving from Princeville to Poipu. This restaurant is tiny with about 5 – 6 dining tables. During both of our visits, we ordered the coconut shrimp. Yum! Make sure to check out the coupon books that can be found all over the island. We were able to find a $ 1 off coupon. The coconut shrimp were really tasty, and the ginger papaya dipping sauce was a nice addition. The dish comes with a side of fries.
