Nana is great. Super fresh acai bowl, the chicken wrap was good sized for the price, and the pasta salad was great. We also had the peanut butter cup frozen banana, who doesn’t love chocolate, peanut butter, and frozen banana together? Definitely worth the stop when you go through Kapa’a!

All of the 5 star reviews are right on. We missed this place when we were first looking for it. It was not there anywhere. It was for our evening meal. She does not do that. We stumbled on her a couple of days later. She is a Nana, so she does not do Unilocal or have her web site posted or her hours and menu like a lot of other sites. But that does not deter her followers from finding out when she there, with her wagon still hooked up in the parking lot for a getaway after the noon crowd is done. She is a friendly, helpful, one woman show. The sandwiches are great and the fruit bowls are tremendous. She even made me a vegetarian sandwich which was not on the menu. Love and mahalo to Nana.

My wife and I are back on the island after being away over a year. Since being back, we’ve had lunch at Nana’s Snack Shack twice. We are happy to report that Lorri’s sandwiches are as good as ever. In fact, even better now that she offers focaccia bread as an option. This is still the best lunch value on the island! Bottom line: you can’t do better on Kauai than this place for value, consistency, fresh ingredients, deliciousness, and the real Aloha spirit. Closed Wednesdays.

Holy smokes, such fresh and delicious food, filling but light so that you don’t feel weighed down. Owner is also incredibly kind. Don’t miss this great lil truck!

Oh my… As everyone says, you can get THEBEST Pitaya Bowl here. I tried other places in Kapaa, now I regret I paid for them. It was really really really good, so I had to go back in the same day for another Pitaya bowl. One of the best thing I’ve ever had., ever. The Taro burger was really good too, definitely you can have this only in Kauai. The lady is super super nice, friendly, loving and kind! So sad that we have to leave tomorrow, and the shack is not open tomorrow(she said it’s her shopping day for supplies), otherwise I’ll go back and have as much as I can from the menu. I’ll be back to Kauai just for this place.

I was in Kauai for 2 weeks, staying in Kapa’a. I found Nana’s snack shack on Unilocal and decided to try it out. Boy, am I glad I did! The reviews are right, this is the BEST place to get acai and pitaya bowls on the island. I tried them at at least 5 other places from Poipu to Princeville and everywhere in between, and none even came close to Nana’s. I would have eaten one everyday if I could, my only complaint is that I couldn’t get one 24⁄7! :) Service is friendly, and you can really just taste the freshness in each and every item. Not to mention, they all look beautiful as well! All in all, Nan’s snack shack pitaya bowls are right up there with the scenery when I think of what I miss most about Kauai. I’ll be back soon for more. :)

We stumbled upon this spot on our way back to the airport on the last day of a 5 day trip. My wife had seen reviews on Unilocal and coincidentally we were talking about it when we suddenly passed by. We stopped in and got an Acai bowl and it was a highlight of our entire trip. Afterwards, I flipped through the pictures of other items here on Unilocal and now I’m disappointed we missed out on everything else on the menu! We will definitely be back.

Awesome acai bowls! Lorri was so nice and took great pride in her work. We chatted about visiting New Zealand while she made my husband’s acai bowl and my kapa bowl. We had 2 more acai bowls on Kauai and 2 on Oahu and none compared. Our only regret is that we didn’t discover this gem earlier in our trip and eat there every day!

All the bowls are amazing, if your around the area you have to stop by Nana’s Snack Shack. The Kappa bowl was my favorite. The lady that runs the place is awesome & such a kind person.

People say this is where you can get the best also and pitaya bowls on all the islands, and I believe it. We had our first acai bowl a few days beforehand and was so underwhelmed(it didn’t even have fruit on top!), but coming here, we were redeemed. We opted for the Kapa bowl instead, which is similar but with different fruits in the purer instead of acai and blueberry. It had granola chunks on the bottom, the main part of frozen fruit purée, and it was topped with fresh fruit, carob chips, coconut, granola, and her homemade orange-and-vanilla-bean-infused honey! The owner, Lorri, aka Nana, is amazing. She takes such pride in her work, and she was telling us all about the different bowls, the honey she makes, and she explained why she didn’t have any ice cream sandwiches available(takes days to make, since she makes the cookies and ice cream herself). This place is truly a gem for the treats as well as the service! NOTE — A little hard to find, as it’s a trailer attached to a truck in the parking lot of a small strip mall. Just map Tiki Tacos, and park there. TLDR: MUST try acai/pitaya/kapa bowls!

Warning: Kaui is one big tourist trap when it comes to food. Everything is outrageously priced for mediocre to bad food. We were sick of spending $ 60+ per meal for mediocre food at dive bar places w/zero ambiance. Then we found Nanas and she saved us from the never ending rip off we were experiencing. Her food was the most reasonably priced we found in Kauai and food quality was excellent. I had the teriyaki chicken sandwich which was wonderful and my husband had the grilled cheese which was also great. They come with a generous portion of her homemade pasta salad which was delicious and I do not even like pasta salad. I finished the meal off with a frozen banana dipped in chocolate which was a refreshing treat. Nana was very nice and had an upbeat and positive attitude which added to great experience. If in Kauai, make sure to stop by Nanas.

Fantastic ingredients, excellent service, lovely lady. The honey and granola are so fresh and flavorful that i would visit her everyday if i could. Prices are reasonable. Multiple options available — sandwich, wraps, bowls, smoothies. Great for vegetarians. Meat eaters looked happy as well. They loved the bowls for sure. We got the pitaya bowl to share and loved it. Dont think– just go there. Would highly recommend to all. Conveniently located on the main highway. The Unilocal phone number works if u want to make sure she is there or want to check on timings.

My wife and I stopped by this food truck. Solid grilled cheese sandwich and great chicken teriyaki sandwich. My favorite part is that they use organic ingredients. The owner is very friendly and makes a great frozen banana dipped in chocolate. I recommend you save some space to try one. Thanks Nana.

OH Nana how I love you! You made my trip so much better. I came here twice during 5 days and it was not enough. On a little island where options are minimal, prices are high, and food is not always great, Nana was my refuge. The two people who worked here were so friendly and sweet. We got the chicken wrap, pitaya bowl, and frozen banana. They were all amazing! The pitaya bowl was so pretty that I didn’t want to eat it. No, actually, that’s a lie. It tasted sooo good that I couldn’t eat it fast enough. The chicken chipotle wrap was so flavorful and very filling. The chocolate covered banana with coconut and macadamia nuts was mind blowing. Go here! Seriously. It is located in a parking lot. There is no sign that says Nana, but it is across the Chevron gas station and the truck faces the street. Open 11−5ish.

Pretty tasty Acai Bowl from this little. Always wondered and have never tried. But today I did! What a nice surprise. Coconut flakes, fresh fruit; strawberries, banana, dragon fruit, blueberries and star fruit. Anahola granola, honey and perfectly blended fresh Acai. Yumm!!!

Nana’s pitaya bowls are incomparable to others. They truly stand in a class of their own. The pitaya bland is perfectly tart. The generous quantities of fresh fruit that top the pitaya spill out of the bowl. The thoughtfulness elevates the divine experience of consuming the product. However, more impressive is her aloha spirit. Nana is a gem in the general populace. Let me explain — My wife is in her first trimester and has severe cravings for pitaya/acai bowls. We took a trip to Nana’s while on vacation to Kauai. We stopped by Nana’s on the way to the airport and were blown away by the taste and quality of the pitaya bowl. My wife looked and me and stated defiantly that this was the BEST pitaya bowl in Hawaii. It’s a bold statement. I know, but what you may not know is that my wife considers herself a pitaya/acai bowl connoisseur. We crisscross distances near and far, seeking out good acai/pitaya bowls. Still, I agreed with her that Nana had something special. While Nana was making the bowl, we started chatting and it turned out that she could do me a huge favor. There was no need for her to follow through. I was just a customer and she was selling me a pitaya bowl. We exchanged emails and went on our way. To my surprise, Nana followed through on her promise. I was so humbled. Great food exists in all corners of the world. Good people are harder to find. At Nana’s, you’ll find both.

Awesome works of art! I liked the Kapa bowl more then Acai, but both are awesome! Ice cream sandwich in Mac nuts and coconut! We drove back and forth a few times and realize she doesn’t pull up with the cart until 11:30ish.

I visited Nana’s once on my visit to Kauai and it was delicious! I got the Turkey bacon chipotle panini and it had great flavor! I watched her compose the sandwich herself and make it on the spot. My boyfriend had the pulled teriyaki chicken sandwich which I had a bite of and found it even better than my panini. The wasabi mayo on the sandwich added a great punch of flavor. We also each got chocolate mac covered bananas afterwards and wish we would have just gotten one as they were huge. All in all Nana’s is a great place to stop for a filling meal that is delicious, cheap, and will leave you feeling satisfied!
