Hardware Hawaii

Went to several stores looking for the same bolt but no one had it. Sadly, Hardware Hawaii did not have it either. However instead of kicking me to the curb and telling me the name of another store that «may have it,» they helped me find an alternative way to get the job done with other equipment. They even went out to my car and assisted me with the task I needed to complete.
Kudos to them and their customer service. They definitely have my support for any future repairs and equipment that I need!

Awesome store! A little off the beaten path, as it’s kind of hidden in the back of Costco. Only found this place with the help of the Google Maps app (gosh, I don’t know how drivers got anywhere before these apps were invented). First off, there’s tons of parking here. Second, the workers are very friendly. I was greeted and asked if I needed help immediately. No having to walk around forever trying to flag down someone.
They have generic «Hydro Flasks» here. They’re not brand label Hydro Flasks, but they are built EXACTLY the same. The Hydro Flask accessories all fit the flasks here, and they’re way cheaper. As in $ 24.99 for a 40 oz. Yes! Colors are a bit limited. They only had baby pink, a smoky navy blue, and black when I got here. I’ve literally carried my baby pink «Hydro Flask» around for one day today, and had several people ask where I got it as the brand name Hydro Flask doesn’t have that shade of pink. ;) I found out they had them from an ad I got in the mail.
A+ for prices and service. I’ll definitely be back here! I also got a fold up roller cart for only $ 28 that I’ve wanted for ages, but it was always too expensive at other stores.

I believe in buying local whenever possible and keeping the money in the State. Hardware Hawaii Kapolei is the place I go to for my needs. If they don’t have it, they can bring it from the main store in Kailua.

Oh how I would love to give this place 5 stars. But sadly ⁹⁄₁₀ times they are always out of what I need! Which is a real bummer because they have the cheapest prices for what I’m looking for. However, I understand because I look for and buy specific small hardware pieces (metal clips, steel rings and fasteners) and I guess they can’t just always have these small things that I need available. BUT then again if it keeps getting sold out, (and I go there at least once a week people) shouldn’t they supply more!!! Ugh. Except for that, I really love this store and I would choose this place over city mill and Home Depot.
Whyyyyy?
Because the employees are awesome, they always say hello when you enter and are prompt with assistance if you need any. They are really friendly/​helpful and that’s a big part of any business… To make the customers feel welcomed and comfortable. Also the store is clean and nicely organized, parking is abundant never a hassle and they carry a variety of quality products that are most times cheaper than city mill and Home Depot. Especially when they have sales! Oh my power tools… Things get really cheap then. Which reminds me, I need to check when their summer sale starts, if it hasn’t already!

I was apprehensive about going here because of the looks I was getting at the other hardware stores (ace, Home Depot, and lowes). But my dad recommended I go here. I’m 7months pregnant so yeah it’s a little odd seeing me there alone, but when the workers start giving me weird looks I feel super uncomfortable.
So I called beforehand to make sure they had what I needed to avoid all awkwardness. The girl that answered was nice. I asked her for the drill bits I needed and she directed me to An associate Kimi. She told me she had what I needed and kept it on the side for me till I got there. I walk in there and to my surprise, I didn’t get stared at like an alien. And Kimi immediately knew who I was based on what I was looking at. She called me by name, gave me what I needed, and further assisted me to find other stuff I was looking for. She even went online to look up the other things I was looking for that I was terribly describing lol (stainless steel under sink storage trays)
I have never had a pleasant experience at a hardware store. She made me feel comfortable and I really appreciated that.
As a pregnant person, anything ruins my day. But Kimi actually made my day great. I didn’t realize customer service has that much of an impact on me.

This place is HUGE!!! As soon as you enter the parking lot, you’ll find walls of lumber. I was sure glad to see it. My car drove itself into my neighbor’s fence thus I needed to repair it asap! Home Depot didn’t have the the size I needed, but luckily Hardware Hawaii did. The prices for their lumber were comparable to Home Depot.
The second time I came, I needed to have some old paint shaken to paint over the repaired fence. I decided to go to Hardware Hawaii since I was closer to it. They were nice enough to shake it for me even though they knew I didn’t originally purchase it there.
I must say their customer service is top notch! Folks at Home Depot are there but not particularly customer service oriented. Here, big smiles and friendly faces are abundant! However I did take off a star due to the fact that they don’t offer military discounts here like they do at Home Depot. However I’ll still be back =)

Always had good service until today. Most hardware hi’s have good service.
Today i stopped in real quick for some lumber because that is supposed to be their main lumber yard. I ordered within five minutes. And spent 40 minutes waiting in the yard. Only one yard guy working. Not sure who manages employee distribution but there were employees all over the place just chillin.
Poor management is to blame. Ill think twice when i need something quick.

When you need something unique they seem to have it. The wood cutting service is exceptionally good. Kinda pricy, but when they have sells no one can beat their price. Ask for a military discount.

Sort of a smaller cousin to Home Depot, you can find better deals here sometimes. The employees are very helpful and the overall service is great.
They are a great addition to the Kapolei neighborhood, competition is always good for customers.
