haha i went to see the same ship, and it was pretty cool. i didnt get as close, but the beach itself is cool too. my nephews go all the time to surf, so the sand is nice, LOL. its a cool spot to fish, i agree. my cousins and i went opihi picking or attempting to pick a few times before too… fun times! hahaha we ended up goin to zippys after our unsuccessful escapades, LOL!

This review is on the area and the staff. I don’t have a boat but was out Kalaeloa Barbers Point Harbor because I found out that Disney is building«The Queen Annes Revenge» pirate ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies on Oahu. It’s an easy place to find and a popular fishing spot. Bring your pole, cooler and camera. I drove out with my husband to see the ship and was directed to it by a friendly little security guard who was eating his lunch in the parking lot. I was surprised at how helpful he was considering I had no real business being there.(Thank you security guard, it was kind of you.) Right now the ship is under construction and being built around the hull of another ship so as to make it actually float. It’s a huge undertaking for Disney and a boon to our local economy. The filming of the movie is set to begin this summer and the rumor is that the ship will be displayed on the grounds of the new Disney resort in Ko olina. This is a fun little adventure to take on the Leeward side, come for ship and stay for a quiet afternoon of fishing!
