First off the lady owner doesn’t have a personality so don’t expect interaction. The food is good. Got the cooked flank phở– they were kinda tight on the shush of veggies this time around which was surprising since my daughter and I were sharing and they knew that. BBQ chicken was good. Short ribs were delish. Love the fried spring rolls. Curry chicken was bleh. Too sweet and it’s not something I would order again. My son ate most of it and is now home with an upset stomach. He’s not a sensitive eater either. Anywho aside from the curry chicken and aunties bleh personality(and she’s always there, like every day) the rest of the food is great. The setting is normal and I will eat there again. Oh yes and they have a bathroom in the restaurant. It’s rare in this strip mall.

This is my favorite phở ever. I hate other places. Like it was a daily routine with my boyfriend phở and hulashake. So this place is the best phở you’ll ever have. Trust’em

The oxtail phở with side order tendons, spring & summer rolls are always good. UPDATE: So sad today! Went for lunch & our usual order of Oxtail phở with side order tendons was lacking! Only 2 small pieces of oxtail in each bowl and generally the serve the generous side order of tendons on a plate, but today each bowl only had a few skimpy pieces! Wish we were told that they didn’t have enough oxtail & tendons to fulfill our orders… would have opted for something else!

This is our home spot for phở when we need to take care of our phở craving. The servings are pretty big and the phở is always tasty. I love their iced coffee and their summer rolls are usually part of our order. Their avocado shakes are really yummy too. It’s never left us disappointed which is probably why my family and I choose to come to this phở place. The service is always so friendly and very tentative when you need something. They do seem short staffed for when it gets busy but they seem pretty on top of it. No complaints and I will be coming back to get my phở fix.

We keep coming back to Phở 808. After trying many many phở restaurants, this place is always consistent, and we come at least once a week. For the price, the portions are reasonable. The service is pretty quick, as is the food. Everything is always fresh. Everything I have tried so far has been really tasty. I love the phở with rare steak, beef ball, tripe, and tendon, and the spicy beef noodle, which is a thicker noodle in a spicy soup is excellent too. They have a variety of different main dishes and combination plates, Thai iced coffee and even bubble drinks. I’m craving some phở right now, but I can’t go today. Maybe tomorrow! :)

I made a phone order and the lady was so polite to answer my question. Upon arriving my food was ready and still hot! I usually always get a lemongrass chicken banh mi from Bale but I wanted to try it here and what can I say, probably one of the best decisions I’ve made! It’s so flavorful. Definitely will be getting my banh mi fix here from now on.

This place really needs to get it together. I just went there to eat a late lunch with my mother and everything seemed to be okay up until the waitress dropped off our food at our table. We ordered a large seafood phở & one order of the peppered shrimp. Being this; we asked for 2 bowls because we were going to obviously share the large seafood phở. The first time I asked, the waitress said«yes yes okay!» Then I waited as I saw her run back and fourth servicing other tables after she’d made numerous trips to the back where she could’ve grabbed me the extra bowl. Finally I managed to get her attention again & when I asked her again for an extra bowl, she was EXTREMELY rude & had a mini outburst of sassy comments saying«YESYES! I WILLGETTHEBOWL!!» I was like are you serious??? She then proceed to get the bowl, drop it in front of me rudely on the table & never acknowledged me when I would say«thank you» et to everyone else in the restaurant, she would say«sorry!» Or «yes of course» when other customers asked for things. My family and I are NEVER eating here again. Throughout the whole meal, she was checking on others asking«is everything okay? Can I get you anything else?» But not us. We were the only table being treated so rude. Even when we went up to pay, the waitresses brother asked«was everything okay?» And my mother said to him«no actually, the waitress was very rude». He said NOTHING. He ignored the comment. Silence. We are never eating here again and I will make sure my friends never eat here either. This place SUCKS! *Update* when I called and asked for a manager, they were EXTREMELY rude again! Someone told me «they not here right now, they be back tomorrow» so I asked«okay what time?» And he said«okay thank you» and hung up. Yeah. I will make it my life’s mission that this place gets no business.

We’re regulars every weekend, most of the time is good, but last week was the worst, soup was lukewarm and spring rolls were old, today everything is perfect

My other half and I have been coming to this restaurant for a few years already and I’ll explain why. This place from day one has treated us like family since we walked in! They are so fast with their service and of course the food is off the HOOK! If you haven’t done so already, you should try the milk tea or chai tea with your phở The staff are super friendly and always courteous and I have always appreciated phở 808 for their food AND service. If you’re ever on the west side and just have the urge for some bomb phở. Hit up phở 808!

Went in for dinner tonight. Asked the lady if they have shaken cubed steak. She replied yes and showed me a picture. The picture had cubed steak and 5 pieces of shrimp for $ 14.95. She then proceeded to ask if I wanted shrimp. I politely replied no just the shaken cubed steak. The dish came out with about 10 pieces of ½ inch cubed steak. Went to pay and she still charged us the full price of $ 14.95. I asked her why we were getting charged for the shrimp when we didn’t want any. Her response was they added extra meat. And she proceeded to start arguing with me. So I guess I just paid $ 1.50 per ½ inch cubed steak. Feeling very ripped off!!! I’ve given this place many chances and tonight is the last straw.

I was hoping to find a really good Vietnamese restaurant that served bun bo hue and Vietnamese sandwiches. Sadly, this place was not it. My sister and I had lunch here yesterday and it came out to about $ 44. That’s kind of expensive for Vietnamese food in my opinion. We ordered 2 Vietnamese iced coffees(which was pretty decent, just not as strong as I’m used to) bun Bo hue, salt & pepper shrimp, and a Vietnamese sandwich. The bun Bo hue was just ok. It wasn’t that spicy and all I could really taste was fish sauce and not much else. I add more chilli oil and hot sauce also. The beef tasted old as if it’s been sitting out because it’s probably not one of their more popular dishes. I’m also used to getting shredded cabbage with this dish, but received bean sprouts instead. I loaded it up with all the fresh herbs they offered in order to counteract the strong fishy taste. My sister’s shrimp was delicious though. It tasted fresh with just the right amount of spice from the chopped jalapeño. The sandwich was most disappointing of all. The meat tasted old, the bread was old, stale, and overly hard, and it was so dry. I had to ask the server if they had mayo or some kind of spread to help with the dryness. It was a clean restaurant and the service was friendly and quick. I don’t think I’d come again though. Ba le has much better sandwiches in my opinion.

This is our Phở place when we choose to eat phở. Been coming here a few years now and was happy to find it when I moved back to the islands. The place was always rockin’ especially during lunch when there would be an actual line to get in. The ambiance is nice. Many of their dishes boldly displayed on the wall, something to look at while waiting for your food to arrive. Definitely not as busy before. We were prepared to wait but walked right in and got a table. Water is brought out as we sit. Menus are served. This is when I realized owners changed hands because the menus were different. The menus this time around were laminated sheets. Before, they were in a tall menu style book in style most commonly found at some of the better fancy eatery places. Mom, being the carnivore she is, orders the BBQ Ribs on Rice. I’m looking forward to it because I know she can’t eat it all. Mog P. tries something different and gets the Seafood Phở. That really is different. Me, I order the the Catfish simmered in Pepper and Spice. I ordered this awhile back and it was so good I couldn’t wait to have it again. We did order the Spring Rolls and those were brought out fairly quickly. Also loved there was enough lettuce and a good amount of mint. I did ask for an extra serving of the sauce which I could just drink as a straight shot because it’s so good. I explained to mom how to eat these with the lettuce and sauce. She liked the sauce. Mog P. and I gobbled up the rest. The Seafood Phở came out next not looking anything like i expected. Actually looked better than what I thought. However, the broth is different and not something I liked right away. Could be something I may acquire later. However, Mog P. loved it with all the different seafood bites. I couldn’t wait to dig into my catfish. However, as I did, something was not the same. It was still good but not what I remember. This fish was tender and moist. What I had before was harden on the outside, and meatier on the inside but not too dry. More like it was deep fried some before simmering in the pepper and spice. The sauce made up for the moisture. I liked biting into that bit of crunchiness with the flavorfull sauce. Mixed with the rice this was a dish to dream about. However, this time around, it just wasn’t to my liking. All this means one thing for me. I need to find the recipe so I can cook it myself to the way I can enjoy this. The ribs come out and mom is happy offering us to eat some off her plate. We both do without hesitation and they were delicious. We only had a couple ribs each so not to deprive mom of her meal. Overall the service is good but the food may not be up to par of the previous owners. I’m not sure when they took over but hope they can step up their game so I can continue to patron this establishment.

I have been eating here for years. I would wake up and be excited on a rainy day to go down to Phở 808. Now? I’m pretty disgusted. I went with my mom for lunch and the food came no longer than 3 minutes after we ordered. That doesn’t even make sense. After eating my food; something didn’t feel right. It seemed like it was already too flavored and the noodles were really mushy. To no surprise, I found a meatball in my meatball phở bitten into. Meatballs are bite size; I eat them whole. I waved the waitress over to not make a scene, but she told me that that’s how it’s cut sometimes. I don’t know anyone that owns a crescent shaped knife. She saw how angry I was and called a manager over. He nonchalantly asked if I wanted a new bowl; nope. He then grabbed my chopsticks and removed the meatball. That was either to yell at the back or to prevent me from taking a picture of it. To add insult to injury, the waitress made us pay for both of our meals even with me hysterical. I used to love this place, but what has it become? Who knows. I called the Department of Sanitation. I remember my mom used to trash her bowl after she was done eating for years. She thought they would reuse the noodles and I thought no way. Listen to mom; she always knows best.

If you’re sick and/or lost your voice like I did, phở is the way to go! I went here by myself late night because I could not talk for the life of me and I was tired of it. This small restaurant was fairly clean, just a bit outdated, but no complaints. The service was on point. All I had to do was look back at the lady near the register and she quickly came by. Hehe. Oh, I ordered a small rare steak phở noodle soup and it was perfect. Not scorching hot and had the perfect amount of rare steak. After sipping the rest of the soup, my throat felt so much better and my voice came back the next day, not fully but enough to hold a conversation. I would definitely come here again and try something else!

Received a way better service than last night’s eatery. I had the Seafood Phở and veggie summer rolls. I can’t figure out why I didn’t care for the summer rolls. Don’t know if it’s the summer roll or the peanut sauce. It had a texture that I didn’t care for. As for the Seafood Phở, the soup base is very good. I ordered the small which was just right for me. I would definitely come back to eat the Seafood Phở.

I’m so sad because this was my favorite phở restaurant, and the bonus was that it was in Kapolei so I didn’t have to travel to town. Now that they are owned by new owners, the food is not the same. The phở was mediocre, the noodles were a bit too undercooked, and I tried them again and ordered some vermecelli with bbq chicken. It was okay but you could tell it wasn’t the same as before. :(

Location: They are located in the Kapolei Shopping Center next to Boston Kine Pizza and L&L. There are tons of parking at this shopping center. Food: I always order spring roll, summer rolls, papaya salad, beef and meatball phở and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The food was good. The spring roll serving size is bigger compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. I love that they give a lot of the lettuce, noodles, cucumbers and carrots with the spring rolls. Price: The prices are average for Vietnamese food on O’ahu. A bowl of phở ranges from $ 7-$ 9 depending on the size. Spring rolls cost $ 8 and summer rolls were $ 6. Ambiance: I sense a different ambiance than past visits and I found out through Unilocal that the restaurant has new owners. It is not as busy as before but the food is still good. Overall, I enjoyed the food and would be back in the future. The only thing I was disappointed was my Vietnamese iced coffee. It had more ice than coffee.
