Wendy’s

Place definitely got a lot better since I last reviewed. They newly renovated the interior and the night manager is very courteous. They still get things wrong but seems like that’s just the norm for fast food here.

Went here tonight after I hadn’t been here in years because of my previous experience (see last review). I knew they had renovated, but man, they REALLY stepped up their game since my last review. Renovations are AMAZING and it seems as though they want it to feel homey and similar to a Starbucks, where you can sit, relax, eat, etc as they now have a fireplace right in front of a small sit– down area. The restaurant is very clean — didn’t see one scrap, napkin, etc on the floor, and same with the tables. Décor and furnitire are very comfortable, welcoming, and nice! The staff was great too — Ashley, the manager was friendly and asked if we had any questions about the menu as we were deciding what we wanted to order. He even asked us if everything was ok before we left the store! Top notch! You just don’t get that at any other «fast food» joint. Last, but not least, my favorite part of my experience there — the soda machine! Haven’t seen this anywhere else — all digital and a ton of different flavors. We had the Lime Fanta, which I’ve never seen anywhere else, and it was good! Needless to say, I’m going back just to try another new flavor! Great job, Wendy’s!

Why can they not get the fries out hot, and salted properly. I’ve tried eating here a few times now and was hoping the problems were a one time thing, but no. Today I asked for extra salt on the fries, and they charged me for a second order of fries instead. The manager told me, don’t ask for fries when you order a combo, they’re included. Really?

All of the diet sodas were empty today. I told them but it was the lunch rush and they weren’t aware of it. They need to monitor that closer but lunch rush hits. Otherwise food and service was good as usual.

The line is always long for this one, but the service is good, and the food is always good as well. The only Wendy’s down the west side so that’s why its always busy, lol.

This Wendy’s was recently renovated as of 2015. What was renovated was done really nicely. And that’s appreciated since this location was beginning to see some wear. The flooring is nice as well as the accented décor. They have a nice large screen LCD TV that plays sports. When I visited, they had the station on the NFL Network. Below that TV is a nice fake fireplace. The only other Wendy’s location that has this LCD TV/​Fireplace combination is the one in Wahiawa.
One thing to mention about this location is that it gets really crowded during the lunch hour. Often the line will snake to the entrance door. I’m not a fan of the Wendy’s ordering line philosophy.
As with any place, there are negatives. The renovation has not added more seats. I would have thought that because Kapolei continues to grow, they would have actually improved on the amount of seats. This isn’t so.
The service time has gotten worse. In the past, it never took long to receive my order. They need to work on pushing out the food orders more efficiently. Even the drive thru, though a priority, seems to be slow as well.
The drive thru is typically okay, though. They’ve gotten my order wrong in the past. Drive thru gets busy as well. Snakes around the curve near Kmart.
They have the Coca Cola Freestyle machine. Many don’t know how to use it. Not sure if it’s because the have so many choices or they just are not sure what to do. They have 2 machines.
They have (3) outside umbrella tables that seat four. But during lunch, good luck scoring those (during the weekdays). There’s a group of old nostalgic & classic car guys who are always there. If you want to see cool classic cars come here. I believe they’re called the Kapolei Lunch Bunch. They’re harmless, as they just hang out outside under the umbrella seats.
I think that with this location, the main fault would be that the renovations didn’t make the place any larger or have any more seats available. The service is still the same. I would argue that there’s a slight chance that they’ve gotten worse. Different manager and different crew that was there prior to the renovation.

Nice new location which makes it even more puzzling that the service was bad. Despite not being busy, the young crew didn’t seem too happy to be there. It showed in the messy burger and sandwiches that we got.

They are HORRIBLE at giving receipts! Why is it so hard if you ask for the receipt that you can’t give it!
Also your pot hole in your drive thru is almost the size of a car.

Wendy’s was closed, I drove by today.

We went to drive thru in Kapolei ordered 2 double cheeseburger got home and open the bag to find out only 1 double and 1 regular cheeseburger. I was so pissed and hungry and sent my wife to go back and get your money back. The burgers looks so old all I want to do is return the burger. The manager wasn’t nice didn’t even say a word. Never going back to Wendy’s again… Bring In n Out to the island.

This cashier tonight was so rude. No customer service and made us feel rushed while dining in late. Do not dine in here!

I am giving 1 star and strictly for their lack of «good» customer service. Coming from someone like me who has managed and supervised in the corporate world and have been in customer service for over 20 years, I have never been treated with such rudeness. Immediately approaching the cashier, there was no smile, a snippy tone and an attitude as if I had interrupted her day. Secondly, when I realized the iced tea was not among the self service, I once again approached the same cashier and asked «excuse me, do you have iced tea?» (While keeping my composure), she «snatched» the cup right out of my hand. I partly blame those who manage the restaurant for not providing adequate customer service training at the least. If anyone is unhappy with their job then that is not the place for you. There are many folks out there who would appreciate just having a job.

This franchise is a joke, customer service is nonexistent. Don’t think about even ordering anything too complicated ie. a meal and a side or two without having to worry about leaving your car (if you used their pointless drive-​thru) to go back inside with hopes of getting it correct. Don’t even bother eating inside either, you’ll be so frustrated that if they ever get your order right… you’ll lose your appetite or have really cold food after all that waiting. I’m pretty empathetic and set my standards low with fast food but this franchise sets a new low.

If I could give this location 0 stars, I would. Great food but HORRIBLE service. I waited in line for 20 minutes and finally they took my order. I only ordered one spicy chicken sandwich, not even a meal, a sandwich – my friend ordered the same thing and she got hers promptly. People who ordered after me were receiving their food before me, which I thought was kind of strange so I asked the cashier if they forgot to give me my order… No, they just completely FORGOT my order. After more customers who ordered after me were receiving their meals, I decided to go up again and ask for my refund since I thought that waiting 35 minutes for ONE sandwich was completely absurd! During the 55 minutes that I was in Wendy’s, they lost 3 customers because just the wait in line was too long. Horrible experience, left with no food and took my money somewhere worth the time.

Can’t beat this location if you only have time for drive thru food.
Great location, large drive through and ample shaded parking in the parking lot facing Kapolei PKWY.
Food actually tastes pretty good, hamburger and fries came out nice and hot, kids meals came as ordered and the lady working the window was friendly.
It’s nice to come to one of these places and have them not only provide you with tasty food but also get your order right!
If you are out shopping and get the urge for some fast food, then this place won’t let you down.

Every time I go to this Wendy’s (the only one in my area), something always goes wrong. Last week I went to the drive thru and order my usual jr. bacon cheeseburger with a side and a drink. I always park on the side and make sure that my order is correct. In this case, I had no bacon. So I parked and went inside and asked for a new one. I took it and went back and realized that there was still no bacon. I walked back inside and the manager told me that he thought I said no bacon as in I wanted no bacon. He gave me attitude and him being a manager was not professional. He grumbled and made comments to himself about making my sandwich for the third time. Honestly, this ruined my day.
Tonight, 21 Nov 2014, I went inside to order because the drive thru had been crowded. I’m greeted with a short line, but as soon as I get to the front, I notice that the cashier has a huge hickey with a diameter of about 2 inches, maybe bigger, with her hair in a loose side pony tail trying to cover it up. She tells me to wait as she’s preparing the food with her hair dangling. That is just disgusting, I wouldn’t want someone’s hair grazing against my food. So I just left. It’s unprofessional and unsanitary to have someone doing that. If I were the manager at Wendy’s, I wouldn’t want someone representing my company looking sleazy and unprofessional. It is disgusting. Never again.

I only gave 2 stars instead of 1 because their sandwiches are good (on the rare occasion I come). On this occasion, I went through the drive thru. The person who collected my money was laughing & just took my payment and gave change. Ok, well that wasn’t nice. The person who gave my food was really rude. I was placing the drink in my cup holder & I when I turned my head the bags were in my face (like just shoving it to me). I just took them & without expression or saying anything, she closed the window. I faintly heard her say «thanks. Come again.» What’s the point in saying that AFTER closing the window?
I used to work in a restaurant, customer service & a drive thru. So I know how to provide service. That was just plain rude! Both of them were, but the last girl was worst. The worker gave the vibe of not wanting to be there. If that’s the case, don’t work there anymore & ruin a customer’s experience.
Ps. I’m writing this immediately after the incident, in your parking lot because I’m that annoyed.

Best time to go to this Wendy’s restaurant is an hour and half before the restaurant side closes. There’s hardly anyone there and you can sit back and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed to leave. The night shift stay is chill and friendly.
I love that they have the Pretzel burgers! But what I was surprised to see return for a limited time was their Bacon Cheese Portabella Burger is back and tastier than ever! It’s great to drink with a Cherry Coke, another thing I love about Wendy’s, one of my favorite sodas at an all you can drink fountain machine! Can’t go wrong there!
I always have to order a small chili with a sour cream and chive baked potato; extra sour cream and tons of chili sauce. Combined — total comfort food!

Not much different from other Wendy’s locations. I did decide to try something different from my usual Baja Salad; I instead opted for the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It was worth it – loved the chicken with a kick!
The staff here was friendly, the place was clean & there were bathrooms. On a weekday at lunchtime, this place was pretty crowded. I even ran into a classmate here.
On this particular day that we went, there was a man near the drive through entrance with a sign that was asking for money for food. My coworker asked, «what would you do, give the guy money or buy him food?” – what would you do? Of course being the great guy that my coworker is, he bought him a couple of burgers & that man gladly accepted. Good samaritan story of the day.
