I first went to see Robert Gruener after I heard him on the radio with Skeeter (700 AM on Saturdays). He diagnosed a problem that three other highly recommended mechanics could not identify. He really listened to me, he applied his sense of logic, and used his extensive mechanical education and experience. Just yesterday, I went to see Robert (and Della) to have my rear shocks changed, as another mechanical shop told me I needed after having my oil changed. (I don’t live near Robert’s shop. Otherwise, I would ask him to change my oil.)
The other shop’s estimate for the shock replacement was just under $ 1,500. Robert’s was about $ 1,000 for the same job. (My vehicle has air assist shocks.) Robert put my vehicle on the lift, came to get me, and asked me why I needed my shocks changed. I told him what I was told and showed by the other shop. Robert showed me why I didn’t need my shocks changed. The other shop was incorrect about the shocks on my vehicle. If my vehicle happened to be a Ford truck, the other shop may have been correct. So, I went home having spent only my time, and Robert’s, for which he charged me $ 0.00. Robert and his staff are honest, experienced in nuances of different vehicles, very competitively priced, just plain good people. I appreciate them all! Many thanks to the staff at Autotechtronics! I do most of my own auto work, but know when to holler «calf-​roped» and get some help. On two occasions Robert’s team was able to diagnose my problem which had eluded my own digging. They provide excellent services and fair prices.
