Went by there on 10⁄7& it had two paper signs on the front door windows saying that it was closed for remodeling. When I called their phone number, at normal dinner time, all it did was just ring with no answer or voice mail. When you go to the Bennigan’s corporate website, it doesn’t even have this location listed any longer.

Floor is crazy sticky, and saw a giant roach crawling around on the floor in the middle of the day in the bar area, the food is usually good and cheap. But I will no longer be eating here, seems like their standards for cleaning are very low. If the areas out in the open show signs of filth then imagine what behind the scenes look like.

Staff is delightful. The appearance of the joint leaves something to be desired, for sure. The food? Meh. It’s just not quite the same as I remember except for the smoky honey mustard. YUM. perfection. Fries are different. Pretzel roll is different. Instead of the thinly sliced turkey on the turkey o’toole its carved, which is great but not what we were looking for. Reuben was perfect, apparently, though. Don’t think we’d go back but maybe?

Oh Bennigan’s how I want to love you but… you need to get your act together. We came about two months after it opened and it was the worse service ever. We sat at a high top table in the bar area and it wasn’t crowded but we still weren’t greeted promptly and an appetizer took about 30 minutes to come out. There were other issues, we kinda laughed it off because we could see other issues all over. The ordered take-out a couple weeks ago and the phone must of rang about twenty times before being answered. I was getting ready to hang up and just order from somewhere else. They finally answered and were very nice on the phone. I ordered a Monte Cristo and the fried outside was just too much and too thick. There are too many other food choices in the area that have better service and food quality so I don’t think this location will last long.

Bennigan’s was a childhood favorite of mine, and I was excited to finally get to try the reboot. My husband and I were sad to see that there were no cheese sticks on the appetizer menu. Not normally a big deal, but this is the restaurant that introduced them in my neck of the woods in the late 80’s! I was wishing for the cheese sticks from my childhood, but no dice. We tried the potato skins and I have to say that we were really disappointed. The bacon on top was strangely thick, chewy, and significantly undercooked. The potato skins had a lot of cheese and that was nice, but we’ve got to say that BJ’s is winning the potato skins war by far these days. We split the Monte Cristo for old times sake. It came with the raspberry jelly and fries. I hated myself afterwards, just like always! Haha. I don’t have the stomach of steel I had when I was 17, that’s for sure! It tasted the same, but really, after you eat something so fried, can one feel good afterwards? Not like that even stopped us from ordering it; we knew what we were getting into. I would have loved to finish it off with a DBC(that’s a Death by Chocolate, y’all), but they DIDN’T HAVE that classic Bennigan’s dessert. They had a drink named that on the martini menu, but no DBC dessert. I’d love for that to come back. I probably won’t return even if I’m in the neighborhood. It’s missing too many items for me to be TRULYHAPPY, and there are much better restaurants. Zero complaints about the waitstaff, by the way. It was almost empty for Thursday at 6 pm, and we had our waiter’s full attention.

Great food, great people and leadership of this franchise truly care. About our wounded troops, our veterans and about their customers!

I can’t tell you how excited when I saw the first Bennigan’s open back up in the Houston Area. I thought I’d never see that place again after they all shut down here a while back. Luckily for us, they built one out here by us in Katy. When we finally got a chance to try this place out, we weren’t that hungry, so we decided to split something. Since it’s usually hard for us to pick something we both like, we decided to do their Mix & Match deal. We got the sliders, chicken tenders and the Hogan’s Egg Rolls. I really missed the chicken tenders with the wonderful batter, and that sweet honey mustard that I would always get back when I would eat here. The egg rolls were tasty and so were the sliders, quite juicy. We even ordered up an order of fries for our son, but of course we had to partake in them as well. The food was just as good as I remembered and the service was great as well. I’m going to need to visit this place soon again and try out all the other great looking items on their menu. Hooray! Bennigan’s is back!

I was happy to see that Bennigans has finally been revived from the dead! I went in there for my old faithful, the Monte Cristo. They also had some happy hour appetizer stuff on the menu or it could have been lunch specials but everything was just super greasy and filling. The Monte Cristo was good but there was so much grease in it, I think I felt sick for two days. This definitely aint the same Bennigans we used to have in Houston back in the day. Maybe the same name but not the same quality of food or service for sure

Saturday afternoon lunch, hubby ordered the monte Cristo, I ordered the fish and chips, we each got a crock of soup(soup of the day for me, chicken tortilla, and baked potato soup for him). The food came out quickly and it was pretty hot and fresh, the soups were delicious — my 1 year old fought us for them! Haha! Husbands monte Cristo was as delicious as he remembers it being, and the fries were excellent also. Coleslaw with my fish was non-descript and lacking in flavour, and the batter coating my fish was wayyyyy too think and squishy, like it was wrapped in bread then battered and fried, but the fish itself was tasty and the portions were generous. Service was great, friendly and helpful. We’d happily go back! And hubby is already counting the days to his next monte Cristo

It’s been a while but I still remember Bennigans of olden days… some of the dishes are the same(Turkey o’ toole, famous monte cristo) but it’s just not the same. Bennigans used to be banging back in the day… fried cheese app was always my favorite. Not even on the menu now *womp womp* And speaking of the menu… it’s 2 pages of lacklusterness(let’s pretend that’s a word). I spent 10 minutes of my lunch break just mulling over what in the world to order because absolutely nothing stood out. We settled on the fish and chips with a side salad & cole slaw. I was not impressed with the taste of any of it. the fish was just too big for single human consumption. It’s not like it’s good afterwards even if it tasted up to par right out the fryer… so basically lower the price and give me a smaller portion, please and thank you! I did complain that the only tartar sauce they serve is a spicy jalapeño mix. My coworker liked it and no shade, I told her it was the Latino in her that was unaffected about how hot that mess was. The hostess & waiters(we were helped by 3 different ones) were ALL very friendly and talkative! One even brought the manager over so I could express my disdain for the tartar. I think he’d mentioned it prior and wanted backup from a customer perspective. I’m really quite torn with how I feel about Bennigan’s! Wish I could say I’m excited they brought one to Katy but man, the menu sucks. Even the pick 2⁄3 apps weren’t exciting enough to have as an entrée and frankly it was quite pricy. Definitely not off to a good start, 3 stars for the service.

Service was excellent food was great. Wife ordered grilled chicken sandwich on pretzel bun which was very fresh and juicy. I ordered chicken tenders which was very fresh as well.
