I was really impressed by how methodical the wait staff was. Moments after being seated by my hostess, the waitress arrived, then my chips and salsa, then the rolling guacamole station(very innovative), etc… After ordering my meal, I received my food quickly. When finished, the waitress didn’t miss a beat. Before I knew it, the credit card was run and off I went. A big thank you to the El Jarrito team. Excellent service.

We had visited El Jarrito many times because it is close and the food is okay. However, a couple of nights ago, we experienced a long wait and was concerned with the disposition. Once a waiter came, she was great and helpful. The following day, we ate the left overs for lunch and that afternoon, my wife and I noticed our stomachs were feel bad. My two girls ate a different plate, so we knew there was something specifically wrong with the fatijis. Two days now, we have been suffering with severe stomach problems, nausea and diarrhea. After a long-time favorite, we can no longer risk the chance of food poison again in the future.

I love this place. Food and Drinks are very good. I would have gave them 5 Stars, but I would have to admit, that they cook their fajitas a little more than I would like, their tortillas are too thin to make a taco without breaking up, and I do not like being charged for onions on my enchiladas. Micharita is the way too go!

Super big patio with lots of character. We had wonderful service and the food was very good. Enchiladas were very taste, lots of cheese on top. The beer was cold and the margarita was also tasty. Can’t wait for our next meal here.

The place looks very nice but the food was the very bad I asked for a a shrimp soup but it was more like a tomato soup that was it had tomatoes and more Tomatoes it had no taste whatsoever my girlfriend ask for a chicken salad what she got was a bunch of cheese with sour cream to be honest we didn’t enjoy it we did not eat it at all. They call that a Mexican place that sure was not. I don’t recommend it at all. I BUTONESTARBECAUSEITWON’T LETMECOMMENTWITHOUTONE.

We ate on the patio this afternoon. I ordered fajitas for one, and it was very delicious. The flour tortillas are perfect. I didn’t expect someone would smoke while other people were eating, which is why I want down a star. Otherwise, I loved this place and will be returning.

Pretty good! I ate here with my boyfriend for New Year’s Day. He had the cheese enchiladas, I had the chicken ones. Be warned: Portions are huge! I ate about a third of my plate and took the rest home to eat for lunch the next day. Service was quick, chips and salsa were just right. The bill for both of us was $ 20 and some change — definitely a good deal!

Worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. I go in and I have to wait like 45 minutes. When I finally get to my table the waiter is really slow on things and never refills my water. I ordered the cheese quesadillas,(because at every Mexican restaurant I order the quesadillas as the first thing I try: P) well anyway, they come out and they are sitting in a puddle of grease. Like I could pick it grease up with a spoon. I take a bite and there must’ve been. A half a pound a cheese in my quesadilla. I force myself to eat the rest of it and quickly leave. Later that night at a friends house, I got extremely bad food poisoning. Extra bad because it was at a friends house. I will never be returning.

My wife and I love the beef fajitas here. They are the best on the area. The service is always good and they have a nice patio away from the road noise.

‘Twas the night after Christmas and all through the house, we were all stirring, wanting to get out of the house. We ate at El Jarrito and had no grouse. Foodies — it was delish, the food I’m not lyin. The next time your in Katy, get over here and start trying!

So-so TexMex. Salsa is thin but does have good flavor. Ordered the #42 which comes with a crispy seasoned ground beef taco, guacamole, cheese enhilada, tamale, rice and beans. Taco was good as was the guac. Tamale and cheese enchilada were decent. I had double rice, but didn’t like it. My dinner was $ 12.95 + tax. Waitress informed me that they grind their own beef, plus make their own corn and flour tortillas. If you’re in the area, give it a try.

Good: Play area for kids — covered so it is available even when raining or very sunny. Bad: Salsa isn’t very good Meat was under seasoned — left much to be desired Mushroom skillet was also under seasoned… had to cover it with the not-so-great salsa Bottom line: come for the kids to play and really no other reason. the food isn’t worth the prices here.

The best way to lose a customer. Part 1 This place used to be great. Today my service was poor and my unexpected charge pushed me over my limit. I would normally rave about the place. Not so much now. Look at the bill. I asked for lettuce on the top of my enchilada. My friend said no lettuce on his fajitas. So… i get being billed extra for cheese… sour cream or maybe even the lettuce. They never said the lettuce was extra. It just appeared on the bill. When my friend said no lettuce … where is the credit for $ 1.50? There must not be a «credit lettuce button» on their terminal. I just find it pathetic that these places will take every opportunity to charge you to death. If they plan on charging for something as an extra they better be prepared to credit the item if it is not wanted. I am not sure when I will go back. The extra charge left a spoiled taste in my mouth. As I finish this review my stomach is starting to hurt. Stay Away…

We came here early Friday evening trying to catch what they might have for Happy Hour. Not really that good of a menu on that. We ordered the Top Shelf Margaritas which were about $ 6. It was way too strong for my liking. Good if you want to get wasted but definitely not good if you’re trying to enjoy a drink with your meal. Lady came by and asked if we wanted to order some fresh guac… reminded me of San Antonio… tableside prepared… they used white onions instead of red which left it a bit overwhelming in your mouth. Still not good as the one in San Antonio. I had the enchilada verdes and my husband had the chimichanga. Both were a good size portion. The chicken was nice and tender… I wasn’t so thrilled about the tomatillo sauce… I felt it was very one dimensional. My husband thought his meal was meh. We always see a ton of cars here on the weekend for dinner, but now we are kinda like… what’s the big hype? Nothing special.

I have family in Katy that love this place and come here all the time. It’s maybe a mile or so away from their home. We came together as a large party on a Thursday evening and were seated right away. The chips and salsa were okay. I liked the flavor of the salsa, but it was warm and watery so probably not my absolute favorite. My husband prefers the lighter tortilla chips, but still ate plenty of chips and salsa. The guacamole is made fresh at the table. Even my 2(almost 3) year old liked(both the chips and) the guacamole. I had a sangria margarita that was both strong and delicious. ordered a chicken fajita salad and a beef fajita salad showed up instead. I didn’t say anything. It was still yummy. There was so much food(for a salad) that I unfortunately could not eat it all. My husband had a house frozen margarita and enjoyed that and his fajitas. The tortillas were fresh and buttery. My aunt also let me try some of her nachos. Would love to come back here with them sometime.

Tasty food and good drinks. Get the fajitas. I have been to this location many times over the years. EJ has character. I like sitting out back on a nice day with the palm tree umbrellas, and the inside has a warm atmosphere with a big bar if you are thirsty. Service is always good and the foot is hot and delicious. «Fajitas for two» seems to be a bit small for the price. The beef is very tasty, but I am still a bit partial to the fajitas at Ruthie’s and Lupe Tortilla. Expect to spend $ 12 – 15 per person. A bit more than what you would expect at places like Los Cucos, but if you live in the area, you are paying more for convenience. Before you go to this location, check the website for specials. Notable discounts are offered for church bulletins and on Mondays.

We’ve been going here for over 20 years! El Jarrito is a Katy staple. With complimentary chips and salsa, you also get beans. I like to ask for the«Diablo» salsa which is a spicy, habanero salsa. I’ve never had a dish that I don’t like! My favorites are the abuelita chicken and the habanero chicken or habanero steak. My dad swears by the carne guisada, and my brother and husband by the enchiladas! It’s a little expensive at dinner time, so I usually come at lunch. Tasty, strong margaritas too! Also, if Ricardo is your waiter, you’re in for a treat. We got better service from him than I’ve had at fancy steak houses. He was perfectly attentive without being annoying. He was so friendly and made sure all of our needs were met with no delay.
