We only have breakfast at IHOP so cannot comment on other food types Service has always been prompt and attentive and hostess usually is at her station and when she is she always helps us with holding inner door open to enable easy wheelchair entry.(I wish the external door was ‘automatic’ — but it is not too difficult to hold open) IHOP have a seniors breakfast at aprox $ 6.50 which represents good value. Fruit juice at $ 2.50 is a bit expensive; as much coffee as you can drink is the same price. My 2 complaints– silverware is very ‘lightweight’ and coffee is as weak as ditch water otherwise this is a good place to come for breakfast with good food, efficiently served and offering good value. We shall return

I was impressed to have to wait for a while to get into this restaurant around the end of the afternoon during thanksgiving day. I had an impression before getting to know the restaurant that it would only serve pancakes. I was absolutely wrong. You can also have breakfast meals such as several omelet meals, sandwiches and bigger meals such as fried chicken, which comes with 4 breaded whole pieces of chichen(not as good as a fast food branch such as Church) with a spicy mashed potatoes and buttery corn. Some tasty soft drink options like with fresh strawberries, orange juice and lemon soda or mango syrup with lemon soda are great. Pancakes were ok, although I was expecting more from something that was supposed to be a house specialty. I liked the nut topping option though. My overall impression was that it is a place full of options to eat, even though I would expect a bit more for around 20 dollars per person.

I haven’t eaten here in a while so this will be my first review. I decided to eat here as a change of pace. I felt like pancakes lol. When I arrived there was a wait but the time went by quickly. After I was seated I was approached by the waitress and she took my drink order. She returned with them and took my food order. I decided on hash browns, scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon and 2 pancakes. When they arrived all was well except my toast which came without being buttered? Who does that? After the waitress returned, I had her bring me fresh buttered toast. Everything else was cooked to my approval and was delicious. They also had a special of all you can eat pancakes but I wasn’t ready for that. I will return at a later time to re evaluate.

My tip: Well, It’s been 40 mins and we haven’t received: Water, 2nd set of silverware, hot chocolate(instead the wrong kind and barely warm) and we’ve asked…3 times. _____ Well, now that I’ve actually finished my meal, I’ll just go ahead and write this review. I’m not very happy about this one. So, I came in here with my Wife to eat a late dinner. Strike one was that there wasn’t a hostess at the front door. So we sat ourselves and attempted to flag down a server. After about 5 mins(Not exaggerating) we finally got someone to come to our table. We let the Server know that we sat ourselves and so we didn’t have silverware or menus. She said that she could take down a drink order and that she would be right back…10 minutes later, we get 1 set of silverware, no water(Which we asked for) and no coffee or Hot Chocolate(Which I also asked for)…a few minutes after that, our coffee and the wrong type of Hot Chocolate was delivered to our table. Still no water or my Silverware. The Server takes down our order and disappears for the rest of the evening. Then we had some other fellow show up to make sure we ordered and then he, as well, sort of just Houdini’d his way out of being our server. What remarkable incompetence! Then, enter Craig. This guy… this f***king guy… he saved our night. I would go as far as to say that, unless you have Craig as your server, there is absolutely no reason to come here.(This was late Sunday night, so I’m assuming that the day staff might be more accommodating, but I could be wrong.) He just cam in like a storm of absolute competence. He brought everything we waited so long for in about 2 mins. He brought our food order correctly, exchanged my AWFUL cinnamon pancakes for regular buttermilk, refilled our waters, made sure we were OK and adjusted our bill at the end to correct the errors that were made on our order and even gave us a discount for how unsatisfied we were by his coworkers, who were nowhere to be found. He handled our bill in a timely matter as well. He was extremely polite and did his job remarkably well. He is the reason I’m giving this place 2 stars instead of one, like it probably deserves. All in all, if you have to come here, make sure you get a table with Craig, he’ll take care of you. If you don’t get him, then prepare to wait and wait and wait… ultimately for cold or the incorrect food.

I’ve become a bit of a regular and I highly recommend Josephine. She’s so pleasant. Yes, the other servers are exceptional as well and I’m not trying to take anything away from them, but Josephine makes you feel special! I love their limited time Caramel Bön Bön pancakes. Yum! I had their Classic Ham dinner(limited time) also, and it’s great, but I prefer mashed potato to the sweet potato fries. Also, their stuffing is much better than any other restaurant. I also love how they are willing to put flavor shots in the never ending coffee! Denny’s has too much of a diner feel and too much oil makes me feel disgusting. Waffle House is a distant second, but their is something about the comfortable ambiance versus the truck stop feel of Waffle House.

So I decided to deviate from my Waffle House visit. After all IHOP is a diner. It was impressively busy for 3:50 A.M. I was seated immediately, and a waiter, Toriano, came promptly. The Holidays are around the corner, so I opted for the Pumpkin cheesecake and spice pancakes, they came accompanied with sausage links, bacon, eggs and hash browns. To drink I had sweet tea. The food took a while to come out. I assumed it was because they had two considerably large tops. It didn’t take too long though. My tea was refilled, so it wasn’t a huge deal. The pancakes were good. Well spiced and with not too many cheesecake chunks. They were not quite what I expected — I wanted more pumpkin. Eggs were perfect over easy, hash brown was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, bacon was perfectly crispy and the sausage links were juicy. I noticed that my waiter was doing side work while he waited on me, so his attention did slip towards the end. Perhaps he is new, perhaps he lost track of time. No matter what the reason was, side work should always come after the guest. He also forgot to charge me for the tea, but I let him know to charge it. The question that I ask myself is: «If I were this server’s boss, what would I do?». For one, I’m not sure what IHOP’s training program consists of, but I would have him follow seasoned waiters, and also do a mock service with him. The potential is there, but it needs some fine tuning — it needs some coaching. So, to management: Retrain and coach! Give Toriano the tools and knowledge he needs to succeed! Teach him about suggestive selling. Teach him how multi-tasking can be done if it is done correctly.
