What can you say other than AWESOME! The taco’s are so fresh and creative you can’t wait to go back and try another one. Food quality is great, the staff is super friendly and attentive. The only down side is it’s so darn popular that you have a hard time getting in some times. Do yourself a favor an go!

This torchies ether fills the tacos up overflowed(the way it’s supposed to be like the first torchies Austin location) OR they are scared to put anything in the taco. Which makes me so mad because all you get is(trailer park for example) a chicken strip and not enough lettuce. Or if you get the republican you get sausage and a pinch of cheese. I don’t know i personally would just go to the torchies in Austin. They never let me down

I really recommend this place it has yummy tacos they just make them a tad bit spicy but it’s okay cause I really didn’t mind I give it 4 stars cause it honestly does get crowded and then the food is slow but you should go when it’s not busy

Please note that this is only our 2nd time here. The first time wasn’t too bad, it was actually pretty good from what we remembered. That’s probably the reason why we wanted to come to Torchy’s again. For this visit, we opted for to-go. This mayyyy or may not have affected the food quality. All the tacos(8) were ordered with corn tortillas… it was super dry and chewy. Tasted like cheap store brought tortillas. We ordered: — Mr. Orange: 3.5÷5… Overcooked salmon. I was expecting flaky salmon but it was more of a blackened, well-well done and dry salmon. Aside from that, the flavors of this taco mixed well together. I love black beans and corn so that definitely helped. — Mr. Pink: 2⁄5 for the tuna, 3⁄5 for the flavor… I wanted to fall in love with this taco. It sounded so good. Torchy’s should take out the disclaimer of «eating raw or undercooked seafood on this because just like the salmon, the tuna was way, wayyy, wayyyy overcooked. It was again too dry for my liking but just like the salmon, it had good flavors. — Baja Shrimp: 4÷5… Not entirely overcooked but it only had 3 shrimps inside. Not worth the cost but the flavor was enjoyable with a little spice. — Crossroads: 5÷5… This was eaten the day after for breakfast. By far the best item in our order. The size was somewhat worth it for the price. It was thoroughly packed and the flavors mixed very well together. It does have some spice to it from the pickled jalapenos but it wasn’t overly spicy. — Chicken Fajita: 3÷5… The chicken was dry but it was pretty good in flavor. That’s all, not so memorable though. — Street Corn: 1⁄5 … Just hearing or reading the word«elote» should make your taste buds wake up BUT this was far from that. It had very little flavor and the corn, although they looked very pretty, were very dry and hard to chew on. We didn’t even bother finishing this. PS. we ordered 8 tacos in total and when our order was ready to go, we were only given 4. We checked before leaving so we were able to catch the mistake. We got a sorry and waited for the rest of our order. Good job on almost shorting us half of our order, Torchy’s. On a good note: We did enjoy their chips and salsas. The chips were not oily and all the salsas were good in flavor. Our favorite was the their tomatillo sauce… Great concept and the storefront was very nice on the eyes BUT their food needs work. Not worth the price in my opinion.

Overpriced and overcooked tacos. I took my family and it was crowded so I thought it would be great food. We ordered several tacos and queso. When the server brought the food out, the fried chicken is simply a chicken strip yet it was well done(dry, hard, and crunchy) I looked for any type of manager but none could be found. Just a bunch of kids serving. After spending $ 50 for tacos they should be so much better. Also they could serve normal drinks like Dr Pepper or Coke. There are no-name flavored sodas that are not very good. I will add two photos of what we received for $ 4.00 each.

This is my first time at Torchy’s Taco. I was told the Green Chile Queso was the thing to order. It was good but their black retried beans are amazing. I’m impressed with the taste of the tacos and the price. I will be back.

High expectations… Tacos were cold and flour tortillas seemed store bought. Very underwhelming. Queso was amazing. Others in our group ordered gluten free(allergy) and they screwed that up.

My father and I visited here this morning and the restaurant was quite busy for a Tuesday morning! We noticed a line out of the door, so we decided to sit at the bar countertop instead. Having dined here before, I am well aware that this is the best option if you’re unable to stand for long periods of time, and want to get your food quicker than normal. Our bartender and server, Freddie, was on point throughout the entirety of our dining experience. He smiled the whole time, was quick with his service, made an effort to personally connect with us as guests, and made us feel at home, while still remaining professional and getting the job done. He suggested we try Torchy’s signature queso, which although we were hesitant at first, was well worth the suggestion! The queso was creamy, spicy, and overall made a huge impression on me. For lunch, we had the Baja Shrimp Tacos and a Jalepeño Sausage & Egg Taco. The shrimp, my father said, were a little dry, but nonetheless was a good taco. My eggs were a little bland, but the salsa provided made up for it! Our bill amount to roughly $ 10 for quite a good sum of food! That is a definite plus! Cheap price for amazing quality food that keeps you feeling satisfied! I look forward to coming back here!!!

Went here today because it’s a go-to whenever I’m in Texas. The corn tortilla was soggy and falling apart. Not too sure about the consistency of the tortilla. — I had the democrat. The barbecola was good, the soggy tortilla messed it up though. I ended up using my chips to scoop up the inside of the taco pretty much. We shared the queso which is pretty much fool-proof and of course, I bought bottles of the Diablo to bring back home to Cali with me along with another Torchy’s shirt LOL

We really used to come here a lot when it was opened, but we have stopped coming in. Food quality was really up and down, and several times they were out of items we wanted to order like the lil nookies, and rice(amazed that a mexican restaurant can run out of rice in the middle of a day). They also had multiple occasions where they brought out the order and forget a few tacos in a party of 4 – 6. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants around the area, just too many others with better consistent service for us to visit.

Stopped in after 9pm about a week ago(10÷28÷15) and Torchy’s was empty. Ordered 4 tacos to go plus the street corn(about $ 30 with tip), which took over 25 minutes to prepare. The employee apologized for the long wait — unfortunately, after we got home, we realized we were missing 1 taco and the other 3 tacos were tasteless, dry, and served with old, dry limes. Had to call in and spend another 25 minutes on the phone/on hold with the manager to resolve the missing taco issue(forgotten on their own kitchen counter O____o). The discussion took so long that I couldn’t even give feedback about how crappy the tacos we actually got tasted! The only saving grace from this meal was the salsa, but given the wait, price, forgetfulness, taste, and poor quality of the food, we will not be coming back. My tips? Go to a taco truck instead for better tacos at better prices. If you eat here, dine in. If you take out, count your items before you leave!

So I was overly excited and ready to try some fabulous taco’s and all I got was over priced taco’s that should be marked down. The most exciting part of the meal was the chips and queso, Which tasted like velveeta cheese with some extra mixins. The taco’s to me were on the dry side and needed more sauce. Since it was my first time I didn’t know that you could ask for extra sauce so I was left eating dry taco’s.I actually had to jump on to see what else to ask for. Oh and the customer service there sucks. They brought my food to the table and didn’t say enjoy your meal, They just walked off. The cashier seemed a little to shy to be handling customers also. TBH…I would go back but since they didn’t put forth an effort with customer service, I’d rather take my business elsewhere.

I was just checking out the area and wanted to grab something to eat and after looking around, my boyfriend and I decided to eat here. We tried some tacos elsewhere and everyone raves about Torchy’s Tacos and wanted to compare and try it out. We’ve heard so much about this place from family and friends, but never got the chance to try it. There was no line when I came in and it wasn’t hard to make a decision. They have some interesting items on their menu, but some things already caught my eye. My boyfriend and I both got 2 tacos each. We made our order and received a number and chose a booth to sit. The area where we sat smelled like it was badly cleaned. like I was eating at a fast food joint in the play area. It was gross and the table was badly cleaned. GREENCHILEPORK– slow-roasted pork carnitas simmered with green chiles and topped with queso fresco, cilantro onions, and a wedge of lime I like that the taco was filled to the top with meat. They were very generous, but it was dry even when I squeezed in the lime. The meat to veggies ratio was off and there wasn’t many onions and cilantro. I tasted a hint of it, but it would’ve tasted better with more veggies. Overall, this was my least favorite taco. BEEFFAJITA– marinated and grilled skirt steak with grilled onions and peppers, topped off with shredded cheese and pico de gallo, served with flour tortilla and tomatillo sauce The beef was nicely flavored, but a bit chewy and tough. It wasn’t as moist as I would’ve liked it to be, but the cheese added a nice creamy flavor and texture to the overall taste and I loved the fresh pico de gallo, which added a nice acidity. MR. ORANGE– blackened salmon topped with a grilled corn and black bean relish, queso fresco and cilantro, drizzled with avocado salsa, then served with a wedge of lime on a corn tortilla I love salmon and had to try this taco. The salmon was a bit overcooked for me. I tend to like my salmon either sushi style or medium rare. This salmon was more of the medium to well done. I love the earthiness of the beans and the sweetness of the corn. Out of the tacos I ordered here, I liked this one best. The flavors of the tacos have potential, but I’m not sure if it’s up to par with all the high ravings and reviews I’ve heard and read. Some people have told me it depends on the location and I might not have hit the right location yet. I can see that the tacos could taste amazing, but the way it was made here lacked a bit in finesse and quality. I’ve seen better presentation, but worse flavors; so I’m not going to put this place away permanently. I’ll be trying out their other locations for sure!

This location was my first experience with Torchy’s and overall, they do a pretty good job. I’ve been to the Cinco Ranch location a few times for breakfast lunch and dinner. The service is pretty consistent and they do a pretty good job of moving the line through. Whether you get breakfast tacos or regular tacos there’s something for everyone. My favorite breakfast tacos are the Wrangler and Ranch Hand, with the slight edge going to the Ranch Hand. Both are packed with flavor, and you can’t go wrong either way. Politics aside, the Democrat is a very tasty taco. That and the Baja Shrimp are tops on my list whenever I eat at Torchy’s. Don’t be afraid to venture out and try something new though. I did and I enjoyed the Crossroads and Fajita tacos as well. I’m not a big fan of their rice or beans sides or their queso. They don’t have salads on their menu, but their guacamole is decent. Just stick to the tacos and you’ll be happy.

Holy queso, Batman! The reviews don’t lie– the queso is awesome! I had the Baja shrimp taco which was wonderful and the taco of the month which had grilled chicken on it. I am a lover of tacos so I like to think I know a good one from a bad one. My sister said her beef taco didn’t have much flavor though so that’s why I gave them 4 instead of 5. But the tacos I had and the queso and rice and cheese all deserve 5 stars on their own! Overall I definitely recommend this place if you are in the mood for tacos or queso! Just know before you go that some tacos are much better than others.

Stopped by Torchy’s after walking around La Centerra. After hearing all the hype from my friends, I couldn’t wait to try it! Overall, the ambience is fun and quirky(with devil-inspired décor), the service is friendly, and the food is decently yummy, but not mindblowing. I got two tacos, the Democrat and the Brushfire, along with chips and green chile queso, which was definitely enough to fill me up. The barbacoa in the Democrat was a little dry, and the Brushfire was too salty, in my opinion. The best part of my meal was definitely the chips & queso — couldn’t get enough! I won’t go out of my way to come back here, but if I pass by again, I want to try their breakfast tacos!

My first experience with Torchy’s Tacos was in Austin with friends who know of my taco obsession. Ever since, I have been hooked. I love authentic Mexican tacos, but Torchy’s offers variety! I come to this location because it is the closest. Usually, I call ahead with an order to pick up at the bar and leave. One time I have dined here, and the line moved reasonably. I have dined a few times at Rice Village and Montrose, which can be a wait most of the time. Food I have tried: Green Chile Queso & Chips(4⁄5): Chile queso with guacamole, cilantro, and diablo hot sauce. I mean, if you have not tried this… where have you been?! This is definitely shareable between 3 people. I usually like to ask for more diablo hot sauce and kick it up a notch. Democrat(3⁄5): Shredded beef barbacoa topped with fresh avocado, queso fresco, cilantro, onions and a lime wedge. Served with tomatillo salsa on fresh corn tortilla. This can be a hit or miss for me. It’s never consistent when it comes to the barbacoa. There are days when it’s juicy then not juicy. Usually, I like to mix the tomatillo salsa and avocado salsa with this. Fried Avocado(1⁄5): Hand-battered avocados fried and served with vegetarian refried beans, topped with pico, lettuce and cheese. Served with poblano sauce on fresh corn tortilla. I remember this was the first taco I tried from Torchy’s Austin. I love avocados, but this taco didn’t do it for me. Never ordered again. Republican(2⁄5): Grilled jalapeño sausage, shredded cheese, and pico de gallo. Served with poblano sauce and on a flour tortilla. I’d say the first 2 bites were great before the sausage overpowered everything. In other words, too much meat for me. For you meat heads, cast this Republican a vote. Never ordered again. Brushfire(4⁄5): Jamaican jerk chicken, grilled jalapeño, mango, sour cream, and cilantro. Served with diablo hot sauce on a flour tortilla. This is one of my go-to’s with an extra diablo hot sauce. Can you handle heat? Everything goes well together. If you aren’t into sweet and spicy, don’t try it then. Otherwise, I definitely recommend this baby. Baja Shrimp(3⁄5): Hand-battered fried shrimp with cooked cabbage slaw topped with pickled jalapeño, onions, queso fresco, cilantro, and a lime wedge. Served with chipotle sauce. I love the mix with the cabbage slaw, which you can’t really go wrong with. This is a hit or miss for me though. I’ve had from 3 to 6 pieces of shrimp, either being bland or salty. Mr. Orange(5⁄5): Blackened salmon topped with grilled corn and black bean relish, queso fresco, and cilantro. Drizzled with avocado salsa, then served with a lime wedge on fresh corn tortilla. This is my absolute favorite. It was my second taco I tried aside from Fried Avocado. I never had a problem with this taco and keep going back for more. Salmon was cooked perfectly. You. Will. Not. Regret. Hipster(2⁄5): Panko fried tuna, with green chiles, chopped bacon, black bean relish, cilantro, and cotija cheese. Served on a flour tortilla with avocado sauce and a lime wedge. Secret Menu. I personally have not tried Mr. Pink, but I’m an experimenter. The bread crumbs on the tuna are not bready. Tuna was probably a medium rare. I didn’t like the bacon with this at all. It’s kind of hard to eat this because the tuna is huge. Nothing really stood out to me though. Missionary Style Pork(4⁄5): Slow roasted pork carnitas with pickled onions, guacamole, shredded jack cheese and cilantro. Drizzled with creamy chipotle on a crisp corn tortilla inside of a flour tortilla. Secret Menu. Pork went well with the guacamole and chipotle. Thank goodness for the pickled onions. They just add the missing oomph. By the way, this taco is pretty heavy but double tortilla for the win. **Happy Hour is from 3−7PM Monday-Friday. $ 1.50 off all beers, $ 1 off margaritas, and $ 0.50 off everything else **Daily Specials run all day. It is overpriced compared to my love, Mexican taco trucks(tacos cost about $ 1.50 each)!

I love Torchy’s, but I’m glad this location wasn’t the first I’ve tried. I ordered the Baja Shrimp, my favorite! I get this taco every time I go. Other locations will pack my taco with shrimp, to the point where I typically have to use two tortillas for one ordered taco. I only got 4 pieces of shrimp today… Kind of disappointing. Wait time for food: ~10 minutes, even without a line and not packed at all.

I’m not a huge fan of the Torchy’s in Austin but family in Houston was interested in trying out the new location in Katy. The tacos were about the same size as usual. I personally feel for the size of the taco, it’s overpriced. I got the beef fajita and the breakfast ranchero. Both were fine but I think the ranchero’s beef was a little too spicy! The sweet corn was yummy! We also got the queso, which was very flavorful but I feel the consistency was a little too chunky. I’m not sure if it was the avocado that was creating the texture or the queso was not melted properly. I definitely recommend for anyone to try! I just feel it’s the experience is what counts and after that I don’t think I would return as a regular.
