there are no words — sharon is simply the best! our baby was three and a half months old when we visited kauai last month and sharon was amazing with him. as soon as she walked in the door he would light up. though he’s just little, she brought age appropriate toys — and the soft silicone cubes were enough of a hit that we’ve bought them for him now that we’re back home.
it’s also worth noting that sharon is truly a professional, which not all care givers and babysitters are. she is passionate about children and doing her job well. she asked us about our baby’s likes/​dislikes and listened carefully to his peculiarities (such as his need for s moving — tai chi baby? — last nap of the day in a stroller or a carrier). it’s no wonder she’s booked months in advance. we were beyond lucky to get her.

We first discovered Sharon in Nov 2010 when we went to Kauai and wanted someone reliable, loving, and experienced to care for our then 2 year old son. We fell in love with Sharon the minute she walked in, wheeling her suitcase filled with age appropriate toys. We’ve talked about how amazing she was 3 years ago.
Fast forward to last week, Nov 2015, when we hired her again on our trip to Kauai. Our son, now 5, had SO MUCH fun. And my husband and I had the BEST hike and afternoon together all while feeling at ease knowing that our son was in amazing hands. Throughout the day, Sharon sent us text messages and pictures of our son letting us know how he was and what activities he was doing. As she was leaving, our son asked, «when can Sharon come back again?».
She books up VERY quickly and months in advance because she is AMAZING. Loving, kind, gentle in nature, strong in her knowledge of children (child psych background), caring, compassionate, engaged, present, and FUN.
Don’t look any further. Sharon is a jewel.

We booked with Sharon when we were on Kauai almost a year ago, but that time lapse is no reflection on how enthusiastic we are about her and her babysitting service! My children still talk about her almost a year later. We used her three times over the course of a 2 week stay and each time they had such fun with her. One evening, we left the kids with her while we went to watch the sunset, and then we stopped back in at the condo to get my purse before we went to dinner. We discovered Sharon and our kids running around together outside on the lawn, laughing so hard and having the best time. Exactly what you want in a babysitter: reliable, trustworthy, enthusiastic and has a wonderful way with children. Crossing my fingers she will be available for our next visit!

We’ve used Sharon’s babysitting service on two visits to Kauai, and she is incredible! She is prompt with communication, punctual, comes with activities for the kids, and my son loves her. We will use her on all future visits!

We have only left our 8 and 3 yr. old with immediate family members, so we were a bit reluctant when we decided to look into finding a sitter. However, we were impressed with Sharon’s reviews. So, we booked with her for two separate days.
Sharon stole our kids’ hearts straight from the get-​go. She was considerate and knowledgeable in working with our 3 yr. old who has a stutter, as well as making my shy 8 year old feel extremely comfortable.
Both of our kids wanted Sharon to watch them again and were disappointed when we arrived back to the hotel!
Sharon brought a luggage full of age-​appropriate toys that the kids were so excited about. She also made sure to take them outside to play at our resort. Sharon sent us photos of them throughout the day.
We will definitely book our vacation next year around Sharon’s calendar! She truly was a blessing to our entire family.
Don’t hesitate in debating whether or not to have Sharon watch your little ones. She’ll treat them as her own.

Sharon is world class! She refuses to farm out her services because she only trusts herself with our kids. Both of our kids (Milo and Bethany) LOVED «Miss Sharon». How could you not with someone that rolls in with a large suitcase full of various toys and games individually wrapped and sectioned off for play. She updated us throughout the babysitting time with text messages and pictures. TRULY world class!

So grateful that we found Nana’s babysitting service for our trip to Kauai! Sharon made all of us feel comfortable, including our almost two year old who typically has major separation anxiety. He didn’t shed a single tear when we left him with Sharon, he was too excited about all of the cool toys she brought for him to play with! We requested for her to bathe him because we had just returned from the beach when she arrived, which she had no objections to, and she was also able to get him down for a nap so he was cheerful and ready to play when we returned from our afternoon date. This kid does not nap easily! She was very professional, and from the time of booking gave me peace of mind that our son would be in great hands. While we were on our date she sent us texts and pictures to let us know how he was doing. I would highly recommend Nana’s and will definitely use Sharon for our next visit to Kauai.

Very long overdue review. About a year and a half ago we went to Kauai and decided, after reading reviews here, that we would try Sharon. I was pretty nervous to leave my then 3-​year old daughter with a stranger, but Sharon was amazing and immediately put us at ease. As others have mentioned she brings a suitcase filled with tons of fun things that kept my daughter entertained. She also helped her get off to sleep without much fuss. She sent us photos and endured my many text messages of checking in without any problem. I think we had Sharon come 3 times and my daughter was super excited and practically shoving us out the door. We still have the Kauai rainbow that they colored together hanging on my daughter’s wall.

Sharon watched our 3.5 and 5 year old for a full day and a night out and we all absolutely adored her. My son can be a little grouchy with strangers but the suitcase of toys melted his heart immediately. They had so much fun with Sharon and she is just so at ease with children, there is just something very special about her! I wish Sharon lived in Seattle so she could be our babysitter all the time. Do not hesitate to have Sharon watch your precious babes, they will be in wonderful loving hands!
