Found this little Kaufman gem via word of mouth. The tacos are AWESOME… best I’ve had ANYWHERE. Real, authentic stuff. I’ve never been a fan of most Mexican fare. I don’t like melted cheese on stuff(yeah, I’m weird) and I don’t like beans… but there is plenty to be had here. Everything is made right in front of you, although the tamales are usually made before they open and kept in a warmer. They make chicken, beef, pork and spinach tamales — always piping hot and really good. Their hand-made chips are AMAZING. You cannot buy chips like this in the store — very thick and flavorful chips. My husband will throw a small tantrum if I come home from Tia Juany’s without bringing at least 2 bags of the chips with me. The kitchen and storage area take up about 4⁄5 of the retail space. The dining area has 2 tables and 4 chairs. Seriously… but most people order to pick up and go. They have a self-serve refrigerated section with Cokes from Mexico as well.
