Dr. Freed was very good with our Chiwawa. He remedied the problem in under 5 minutes while charging a very reasonable fee.
Dr Freed also sent us an article explaining what was going on with our dog.
We highly recomend him for all of our Vet needs.

So happy a friend recommended me to Dr. Freed! It was so easy! He fit us in for an appointment 2 days after I called, showed up exactly on time, and it only took 15 minutes for him to check my dog and cat. They loved him too, my dog was locking his face and my cat (who never likes anyone) was rubbing against his leg. It’s like they knew he was an animal person. He did a quick test for heartworm for my dog and sent us us to
, which is such an easy way to get meds! I have had some bad experiences with other vets here on the Big Island, I made an appointment for a popular vet here who shall not be named and had an ordeal getting my animals to his office, when we got there the lady couldn’t find our appointment in their system! And they wouldn’t even fit us in! They were very unapologetic and presumed to tell me that they could make an appointment for a month from then. It’s so convenient that Dr. Freed will come to your house! I highly reccomend him!

Dr. Freed is the best! I just moved to Kona and brought my young french bulldog with me. She had some sort of irritation on her neck which was causing her to scratch at it incessantly and started removing the hair on her neck and creating a big scar.
I looked up the vets in Kona on Unilocal and Dr. Freed’s reviews seemed the most favorable, so I gave him a call. I’m darn glad I did. Though his appointments were chock full for the day, he found out where I was located and made arrangements to meet me (between house calls) in the parking lot of Ace Hardware, in an effort to make sure he could see my dog as soon as possible that day.
Dr. Freed was extremely nice, a has a sincere passion for animals. He was very concerned about my dog’s well-​being and spent a good deal of time talking with me about her, trying to gain a deeper background to help in her care moving forward.

Dr. Freed is a great vet! He’s been practicing forever and he has very practical remedies.
Clearly, he cares more about your pet than he does making a dollar– from my experience with other vets in town, (especially Dr. head at Keauhou Vets) this is their bottom line.
It’s awesome that he will come to your home. My cats don’t like to travel!

Dr. Freed is awesome. He comes to your house which is a good thing because my pet feels more at ease at home. And my dog loves him! From the first time they met he was comfortable with the doc. We have a senior dog, Jack Russell, who moved with us from the mainland and has been spooked by every vet she’s encountered. Heard of Dr. Freed — and thought we should try him. Our 12 year old dog LOVED Dr. Freed, layed down by his feet! Whereas at ALL OTHER vets, they insist on muzzling our dog — no wonder she freaks every time we bring her in for a routine checkup or update shots. On time arrival, personable with an interest in the welfare of our four-​legged kids — he is reasonable and definitely our go-​to vet.

We called Dr. Freed because we were fed up with the high prices at local vet offices. He came to our home, which is a huge perk. He has an excellent manner with our animals. Our dogs are usually quite shy around strangers, but they warmed right up to Phil. Very thorough physical assessment, blood tests, etc. Less than half the price of our previous vet, and house calls!

We just had the first shots done for our pug puppy with Dr. Freed and the experience was outstanding! Not only did Dr. Freed drive to our home, but he was very gentle and loving with our dog, gave us very useful information and advice about how to take care of him and answered all of our questions. I would recommend Dr. Freed to anyone in the Kona area as their first stop for Veterinary Service over any of the clinics due to his professional and kind nature as well as his no bullshit approach or unnecessary sales. We will happily use his services in the future and are grateful we decided to try Dr. Freed!

I had Dr Phillip Freed come to my house to give my dog her yearly shots and annual check up, not only was his charge very reasonably however, I loved that I didn’t have to take my dog in the car to the vet and then wait to see the vet. Dr Freed was awesome and yes I do recommend him and will for sure use him again
