We’ve been wanting to try this place for quite some time. Service was a bit of a disappointed. Food took a very long time to arrive. We ended up having to get it all to go because we ran out of time to eat it. Sweet and Sour Chicken was nothing special. We ordered it for our kids. Fried Rice was just okay. Appetizer Shrimp Rolls were good. Beef Satay was also just okay. There isn’t a place nearby that would compete with what they have, so we are willing to give them another try. Hope they work out their kinks. Also, the price on the menu and what they charge you seem to be a bit off. Pay close attention.

I got a carry out with some friends the other night. Everyone’s food looked pretty good. I had the beef delight and a spring roll. The spring roll was very greasy, as if it was fried at too low of a temperature. The beef delight was pleasantly spicy and had a good flavor profile, but it was waaay too salty. I wish I could’ve been in the kitchen to prevent the cook from putting so much soy sauce in the dish. It would’ve been really good. I’d like to give this place another shot, but I’m not going to hurry back.

As a frequenter of Asian cuisine I feel like I have a very seasoned palate when it comes down to it. I have tried many dished many ways. Indo was truly a unique experience, each dish, appetizer, and dessert felt like it had spent centuries perfecting. I had the Spring Rolls which were huge and amazing. The peanut sauce is to die for, and they sell it by the jar! Best peanut sauce ever. I shared the Rendang slow cooked beef with my girlfriend. WOW. I love thai curry, and it reminded me of a panang sauce, but thicker and the slow cooked beef was soooo tender and amazing, I definitely recommend it. Filled us both up. We got the rice pudding for dessert and once again were amazed with the dish. I look forward to returning to try many more interesting dishes. The service was fantastic, Nina was a great server and offered great suggestions! The manager visited all the tables and also made some recommendations for next time! We absolutely loved Indo, and will be returning many more times to come.

This place is really incredible. Food was amazing and service was also very good. Ordered 3 entrees to share and it was more than enough food. Left very stuffed and happy. More stuffed than a turkey. Will come back

I really wanted to like this place since there aren’t a lot of places that serve Indonesian food but I couldn’t. it just wasn’t good. The appetizers are awesome though but then everything went downhill from there. The currys are on the bland side and the proteins are dry and tough. Just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Read all the good reviews and I decided to go to Indo. The service was good but the food was horrible. Only tried the seafood and they were all bad. Overpriced! Would not recommend this place at all.

My friend and I ordered the rice table for two with 4 courses since it was a value. Food: Meatball soup– kinda like a mini phở, my toddler son loved it. I thought it tastes great and had a nice depth to the broth and very tender meatballs. Satay beef with peanut dipping sauce– tender and delicious. Potato and onion fritter with tomato chutney — fresh and crisp. My son also loved it. Delicious chutney. Egg roll — I am very picky about egg rolls and this one is good and well flavored. Java chicken– the chicken was super dry but the coconut curry sauce made up for it. I had to seriously slather it and dip my chicken back into it. It would be better if the chicken was less dry. Spicy beef pot?- it wasn’t very spicy and we ordered mild plus. Very tender and had a good taste but no depth of spice or flavor other than beef. It’s a nice plain dish. Tofu curry– it was okay. Could have been saltier and have more curry flavor. Rice-super tender and sticky. My favorite. Banana roll– a crispy juicy egg roll banana with chocolate sauce. So good. Service: excellent. She knew the menu and was super sweet to my son. Décor: nice, clean, and comfortable. Overall: I would come back and try other dishes. I highly recommend the rice table.

We ordered the 3 course rice table for only $ 29. Says it feeds 2 people but it was more than that. Instead of soup, we started dinner service with the mango papaya shrimp salad, followed by a platter of appetizers(vege roll, potato fritters, chicken and beef sate). We feel full eating but there are 3 more entrees served such as slow cooked spicy beef, Java chicken and curry. Taste was good, served fresh and hot. The interior was spacious, comfy and the music was authentically indo.

This place was wonderful! As a native Indonesian stuck here in the midwest, I always wished that there was some place that had decent Indonesian food, as it is often very difficult to find. Indo fills that niche. Yes, it is a little out of the ways, but it was worth the trip. The chicken satay was delicious and perfect. The rendang(spicy slow-cooked beef) was a tad too lean for my taste(certainly leaner than how my mom would make them), but the flavor was excellent. If only it was closer to Detroit, I would gladly visit over and over again!

I absolutely loved this place! Small local restaurant, tucked away in a more residential area. Don’t judge any place by the looks of the outside. My best friend and I were looking for something new, interesting, and unique. This place popped up on our Unilocal search, with a Unilocal deal along with it. So heck! We decided to give it a try. I can honestly say, the food was absolutely fantastic. My friend got a curry dish and I got Dua Kali Masak Ayam Goreng which is a traditional Indonesian dish with hen. The curry dish was so deliciously spiced with strong tasting flavors, nothing watered down. It was filled with ingredients. My hen was cooked was tender, it was just divine. I have been to Indonesia before and this this definitely tasted like what I had when I traveled there. I can’t rave about this place enough and hope they can get more people to come here; it deserves more reviews and mentions. The owner was also a delight to talk to. Very knowledgeable and can see that it was something he loved, being able to own this restaurant. Service could be a little better, but the food was too good for it to lose a star just for service. And it was only because the waitress was a bit slow, and hard to get ahold of her. I don’t know if she was new or just a bit confused. It got better as the dinner progressed, so it definitely wasn’t bad. Restaurant is also clean, and kept nicely for an older place. The decorations are very unique and fits well for the environment. I will definitely be coming back, no doubt about it.

I’ve been very happy with my multiple experiences here. Sure, having a coupon helps out the bottom line, but I’ve eaten here for full price with no regrets. I’ll spot that the place can often be empty, but I’ve never had service suffer for it. To the contrary: it ensured that I was pretty properly taken care of, without any«hovering» by the servers that I’ve encountered. I really like the food, though, and the portion sizes are correct for the prices that they’re charging. I’ve enjoyed the beef short rib dishes on more than one occasion, I know I’ve had a couple of chicken dishes, too, and while some tickled my taste buds more than others, they were all at the very least good, and some were excellent. In absolutely no case was food sent back to the kitchen for any reason, and any food that was left over was taken home with me and gladly consumed for a later snack or meal(usually a snack, though). It’s a place that revels in spices, true. That doesn’t mean that everything is going to be HOTHOTHOT, though… it just means that there’s a lot going on in many of the dishes they serve, and most dishes hit the tongue/mouth in several different places. I happen to like that a lot, but if tastes are more geared to bland food, this may not be the place for you/your guests. Sometimes the dishes can be spicy-hot, yes, but many times they just have a goodly number of spices combined together, and it seems to work well. They know what they’re doing in the kitchen. Service has been friendly, there may be a *bit* of a language barrier on occasion, but nothing that can’t be worked through when you’re being reasonable. The aesthetics of the place are, admittedly, a bit on the odd side, but that’s of far less interest to me than the food and service. So long as the place is clean, which they very much appear to be, atmosphere is very low on my List Of Important Things For A Restaurant. I’m happy to return again and continue to work my way around the menu. There really isn’t any place else that serves this style of food around(that I know of), and it comes together well, here. I like it very much.

I LOVE this place! I eat here all the time and it’s always perfect. The food is delicious, the service is wonderful, and I love the peaceful atmosphere. I recommend trying the potato fritters. The rice plate is great if you’ve never had Indonesia food and would like to try several dishes.

I’ve been looking forward to trying Indo for a few months now, and finally made it out to Keego Harbor. I’m sad to say that I wasn’t very impressed with the food. Although the ingredients seemed very fresh, I tried a bite of every dish on the table and they were all quite bland. I wonder if the cook has ever cooked professionally before, because the vegetables in every dish were just kind of steamed to a uniform softness, which is not what I would expect from this type of cuisine, or from any restaurant, really. Portion sizes also varied widely; vegetarian dishes were much larger than their meaty counterparts, though sadly just as lacking in salt and spice. Although the entrees were all flops, the papaya salad and spring rolls were okay, though still not especially notable. Also the«homemade» coconut pie(«homemade» is in quotes because the crust was definitely the frozen variety and it comes topped with spray whipped cream) was far saltier than any of the entrees and not particularly coconutty. The brown sugar syrup it came with was a nice touch, though. I guess our meal was really more deserving of two stars, but I feel kind of bad for Indo. It seems like they’re really trying, they just need better cooks. If I had never tasted Indonesian food before, I might like this place, but there are far better options in the metro area for this type of food. If I lived nearby I would go back again in a few months to try it again. But if good curry, satay, and papaya salad are what you’re after, you’re better of patronizing Satay House in Madison Heights or So Thai just down the road from Indo.

Don’t judge a book by its cover! Nothing to speak of from the outside and even inside it looks like a converted bar and grill, but what matters most is the really good, fresh, high quality food! We enjoyed three appetizers — the fried tofu, potato fritters and mango papaya salad(all were great). For dinner — spicy shrimp soup which my son loved, veggie soup, tofu stir fry and veggie fried(Basmati) rice! Large portion sizes — beware the soup is all of its stated 57 oz!(57 is NOT a typo!) Decent price for all that food though the owner is contemplating another price change… so hurry up!

My wife and I came here for dinner not really knowing what to expect. I haven’t been in the building in probably over 10 years, since it formerly was a bar, so I was a interested to see what they did with the place. It looks nice. I liked the open floor plan and the lively green paint. We didn’t know what to order because neither of us has has this kind of cuisine before. I suggest that my wife get the Java chicken and I get the beef rendang but that was just a stab in the dark. The owner came by and asked if we had any questions, so I asked what he recommends and what is popular etc… he confirmed my suspicions and picked the same two dishes. lol. btw, who I assumed was the owner was a nice guy, very friendly and helpful. We ordered that and the fried vegetable fritter appetizer. It came out fried up with shrimp in it, I guess I didn’t read that but ok. It was pretty tasty. I would order it again but I wasn’t really digging the tomato sauce. I stuck with soy and chili paste. My rendang was delicious and tender. A new flavor combo for me. I had to look up a recipe as soon as I left I liked it so much. My only complaint is I wanted a larger portion. I was really hoping I could find an easy crock pot recipe or something but it turns out to be a lot more complicated than that. One of these days soon I’ll take a stab at it. My wife’s Java chicken was fine. I would guess it was baked or simmered in the yellow curry sauce. It was good but nothing as exotic or intense as we were hoping for. Not their fault, I’m sure it’s a big hit with the local clientele. Her second choice was a shrimp soup entrée. We plan on going back to try that one sometime soon. I will have to order the rendang again because I’m craving that stuff now. Both entrees came with delicious rice. I would guess it’s what they call sticky rice maybe? It was a little sweet and the texture was a bit sticky and gooey. It was really good and complimented our entrees well. They also had some great sounding desserts but we had other plans so we’ll have to try that next time. All in all, I want to go back and try more of their menu. My only criticisms would be that I would like to see larger servings or better yet a little less expensive of a menu. I know this sounds like I’m just being cheap, but I think the menu should be priced more like a similar Thai food restaurant would charge and this place was a little more. Not enough to keep me away, but I would come here more often if it were a little more competitively priced. IMHO.

My third visit. The sign-board outside mentioned $ 2 ‘special’ for a cup of soup, $ 1 more if it includes shrimp. I’ve already tried the spicy shrimp soup; so I opt’d for their Meatball soup. Served hot. Not spicy. Nicely spiced. Fresh vegetables. Broth base, not tomato base — hurray. Will I order again? Probably not. This soup didn’t ‘wow’ me the way the spicy shrimp soup did. I’ll post a pic; Indo’s cup is what most places call a bowl. It’s a bargain for $ 2. I also tried to order a Banh Mi sandwich. Sadly; no sandwiches are available today. Emily is a new waitress. She was attentive without being obsequious.

Fantastic new Indonesian restaurant in Keego Harbor. The food was authentic and very, very good. I highly recommend the fritters for an appetizer. Prices are more than reasonable, with serving size requiring to go containers. Will definitely be a repeat customer.
