I came in this place when my car broke down. Sweetest bar tender ever tried to help any way he could. Great shots. Nice bar menu and perfect Sports Bar environment. Mike was amazing and worked hard to make everyone happy. I saw some delicious looking food and happy people! I will be back. The only reason this isn’t a 5* is I never tried the food. ;)

I hate even giving this place 1 star. But I obviously have to give it something. But honestly doesn’t even deserve one star… So I have been going to Porter’s since before they did the«big remodel». I must say, they were SO much better before they redid the place and got new owners. Since they reopened, they have gone down hill fast! I don’t see them being around much longer. My husband, father in law and I went in this past Sunday for breakfast. The lady handed us a pathetic one page menu. That only half the meals on the menu, they can actually make. We were THEONLY people in the restaurant/bar. The place was FREEZINGCOLD. A/c blowing, when the heater should have been on. We sat with our coats on, the whole time. Our meals came out cold, and with being the only people there, you would think they would be hot. NOT! Our toast was burnt, and NO butter or jelly on it. It was like biting into a piece of cardboard. The«homestyle fries» were cut up tater tots and French fries. Not actual potatoes. The coffee my husband and father in law had was gross. My orange juice was disgusting. They didn’t even have napkins. The waitress told us she had to pull the paper towels from the bathroom. Yay! I must say, I was HUGELY disappointed with this«new» Porter’s. Like I said, I don’t see them being around much longer. They were SOMUCH better before reopening. Don’t waste your time, money and stomach on this place.

I was recommended this place by my hotel — wanted to have a place to sit and have a beer and a few appetizers while I got a bunch of work done on my laptop. It was explained by the owners that this used to be called Porter’s Pub but the new owners Denny and Lisa have taken it over as new ownership and have changed the name to «The Pub» because apparently most folks around here simply call it that. Either way, it’s very inviting — and the owners are attentive, conversational, and very friendly. I felt totally welcome and that to me is really what I want to find in a pub watering hole. They offer a reasonable of menu of what you’d expect — burgers, sandwiches, tots and fries — brew pub foods. All I had were a few wings off the appetizer menu when I first arrived to munch while working. I also had a couple $ 2 «Rolling Rock» beers — all day at that price, so not just a happy hour thing. They have about 25 beers on tap with a pretty decent selection, as well as a selection of liquors as well. The owners make a point of introducing themselves to their customers by name — nice touch and it was appreciated to be called by name. Bartender Mike came on while I was there and he too made an introduction and was very talkative and engaging with customers — so obviously there is a personal touch all staff aspire to. It didn’t seem phony or «the boss makes us» — even chef Anthony came out and yakked with the guests. One minor warning is the music at least while was here was all pop/hip-hop/modern R&B oriented with a current pop station in Portland — doesn’t bother me at all but might not be for everyone. But not loud and not obtrusive at all while I was there. I just know some folks may not care for that so felt a mention should be made just in case Finally, I decided to just stick around and have dinner here and just went with the BLT.- it was just as I’d expect with crispy bacon and quite yummy. I no longer eat things like burgers but I saw one go by and it looked great. Also saw a plate of sliders go by that looked really good, along with a basket of crispy tots. My review is about the«place the vibe and the attitude» — it’s not so much a food review — a BLT is pretty much a BLT — and they did it well. I’ll definitely be back — not being a local and not knowing much about the other pubs in this spot in the past, but this is the kind of place I like to find when I travel. Thanks for the great service guys. And as usual, I’m not in any way affiliated and have not met the owners prior. Dave
