Jabo’s Ace Hardware

Used to go here often. Last visit was a disaster. Waited over 6 minutes to check out my one item. The 2 cashiers were bogged down with complex problems. Butterflies they didn’t call for help, or help wasn’t forthcoming til someone behind me complained. I wrote to them and received a computer generated response that I would be contacted. No one did. I’m nothing going back. I asked to be unsubscribe do from mailers and that hasn’t worked either. Sad because I like the smaller locally owned shops. But why reward poor service. As a retailer myself I appreciated a polite complaint or concern because I could usually resolve the issue and improve our service. But not Jabo’s

Unless they have something that Ace doesn’t, don’t bother going to Lowe’s or Home Depot. My wife and I live right around the corner from this place. More often than not, I’ll walk through the door and someone will be standing in the entryway asking what I need help with. If you feel like doing a project on your own, this is the place to go.
I wanted to spray my outside shrubs for spider mites, and I got help from an employee with a degree in horticulture.
You can rent all different types of equipment. There is a large outdoor landscaping section, and there’s even a Post Office in the back of the store!
Everyone at this location genuinely wants to serve you. I hope these folks thrive for a very long time.

Gosh I love this store. What makes it great is the team inside. Everyone is wonderful, passionate and out of the way helpful. I cannot tell you how many times a team member walked out to my car to see what I was working on and provide help. The unique gifts, power equipment, outdoor living etc… all the things I love about this place. I try to shop there first for my needs.

We went to Jabo’s when decided to paint some of our rooms. Benjamin Moore paint drew us in and the excellent customer service earned our business. The team took a lot of time explaining the differences in paint options, painting equipment, and even recommending techniques for us! It was fantastic.
We have and will go again — it’s a completely different experience from the bigger shops.

Do NOT rent from them!!! We were given a chainsaw that couldn’t be used at all and they still charged us full price. We were on the phone with them and returned to the store trying to get it started. No luck. When we questioned the charge, we were told ‘that’s store policy.’ No phone calls or emails to the store were returned. We have shopped there ever since the store opened, too. Sad.

Great service and they have pretty much anything you need. I know if I go here that there will plenty of friendly people offering to help. I love this place.

Don’t you just love the smell of Ace Hardware stores? It reminds me of the smell of the old mom-​and-​pop hardware store I used to go to with my old man back home. I swear they must spread sawdust and axle grease around so the place smells the part. Anyhow, this is a great store — on the smaller side but certainly PACKED with all kinds of stuff you’ll need. I had trouble finding some wire but a guy working there helped me find it real quick. Good store and I’m glad it’s here in this location for when I need something!

The outside plant/​fountain center is pretty cool. I can easily imagine spending a few hours there just enjoying the shrubbery and peaceful settings.
Prices here are reasonable and if not sometimes better than Lowe’s and Home Depot. I came here to purchase weed n feed and saved a few dollars. Same with the air filters here. The ACE brand is just as good as the name brands.
While I as there I noticed that the paint center was lined up with lots of people. So I surmise that the paint center is probably top notch.
Overall this is a great place for tools and home and garden. I plan to come here next time to purchase more of my gardening needs.

Jabo’s consistently meets all of my hardware needs without the overwhelming size of the big box chains (which I also enjoy, by the way). What I really appreciate about Jabo’s is they are always properly staffed with friendly and knowledgeable people who greet you as you enter and are more than happy to help. Be sure to browse the garden shop out back and the BBQ section inside. Outstanding!

This is my new local Ace. It’s actually a little further than the closest big box hardware store, but it still gets my business primarily for all those yellow pull-​out drawers filled with doo-​hickeys, thing-​a-​ma-​jigs, and what-​do-​you-​call-​its. If you need an odd part, chances are you will find it here
This store is a little different than my old Ace (
). While they do have a popcorn machine, I’ve never seen it used. This was going to cost them a star, but then this location does something else very well: The garden center.
The garden center at this Ace is like a mini botanical garden. In fact, when you find it, you may think you found the secret garden. Seriously, the first time I stumbled upon it, via the door in the back, I could not believe it was here. There is a wonderful selection of plants, plant and garden care products (I’ve found some very good deals on soils, albeit via rebate) and working fountains.
While I do think Ace prices are a bit higher than big box prices, the Ace Rewards Program can help offset that cost. Unlike grocery store cards, this program actually gives you cash back (in the form of store credit). So if you plan to shop in Ace (most all Aces are part of the program) often, don’t turn down the card.
Oh, and keep an eye on the rebates… Ace is always having rebate deals and most, if not all, can be done on-​line without having to clip and send UPCs (very helpful when you just bought the bag of fertilizer and the UPC is on the bag).
