The receptionist is rude and unhelpful. I called to find out my prescription so I could order a spare pair of glasses, but apparently after a year they hide your records away in some inaccessible place. Funny, because I bet if I made an appointment to come in they would have a record of my last prescription…

I am a big fan! Jane, one of the women who work there, is just fantastic! I made an appointment because my Mom suggested I get contacts before my wedding next week so that I can actually see what is going on without squinting(ugly pictures). So I went in, I have never had contacts before so I was nervous about getting them and putting them in. So after they did the full eye exam, the doctor was very knowledgeable about everything. She never once was flustered by one of my questions or said«whatever is good for you»(I really dislike that answer at a doctor’s office. How would I know what works? I’m here for you to tell me what works) Jane sat with me by holding«Contacts 101 Class» She showed me how to put them in and was very patient with me when I couldn’t get them in the first time. We did it together twice and she said to call if there were any problems. Before I left, I felt that there was something in my eye(other than the contact lens) so she had the doctor look at me one more time to make sure I didn’t’ have fuzzy or something that was making my eye irritated. I would not hesitate for a minute to send friends and family here.

How could I give any less than 5 stars to the optometrist that tells me my aging eyes are actually in pretty good shape and that I don’t need glasses(except the«readers» I got at the dollar store and use only occasionally)? Our current, better, eye care insurance is coming to an end this year and we wanted to get our last claim in. Dr. Lauri Anderwald-Melton and her staff were top notch. Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful. The waiting area was comfortable and better yet, the office is conveniently located right next door to a Starbucks(should your eyes need a place to rest after the examination). Also worth noting is that Keller Eye Associates uses the«optomap» machine, which is does ultra-wide digital retina imaging. A conventional dilated pupil exam gives a view of about 30 degrees, or 12% of your retina(and other eye parts, at one time). The optomap machine sees 200 degrees, which is about 80% of retina. It does not require your pupils to be dilated. It’s a pretty neat machine and completely painless. If you have not heard of this machine, it’s worth looking into ). It”s got a great story behind it. So I left the office with the very good news that my eyes are in good shape and corrective lenses are not required(save for those readers that come in handy for print on glossy pages). It’s a great way to leave a Dr.‘s office. I’ll definitely be back for any future eye care needs(I’m sure I’ll need glasses sooner or later).
