I’ll give a 5 star when I can’t find anything to suggest for improvement. I have an older plasma TV that only has two HDMI inputs. I need to be able to plug in more than two HDMI cable’s. I had tried a product off of Amazon and it did not work. The screen would flicker with white flashes. The gentleman at RadioShack seemed to believe that could be software related. The different companies try to prevent software/video piracy and he said it probably was the DVD player not sure if the HDMI switch was fully compatible. He was knowledgeable and able to educate me on the different types of switches and why I should choose one over the other. I found this a good visit, a good store, and a pleasant experience

I had my screen repaired here a few months ago. I told them that my lock button is also broken but I don’t need it fixed. Then when I got my phone back, my home button didn’t work. I asked them how come my home button doesn’t work and they said they thought it was broken before. But on my receipt it only says my lock button and screen was broken. And a few weeks after that, the screen started popping out and my phone wouldn’t respond to my finger touching the screen. I eventually had my screen repaired there again(I don’t know why I went there again) and when I got it back, there were two burnt looking spots on the screen and it gave the area around that a yellowish-brown tint. When I my phone got stuck on the apple logo, I couldn’t do anything but restore it. But I needed to put it in recovery mode but couldn’t do that broken home and lock buttons. I went to radio shack again(also mistake and waste of time) to get my home button fixed this time. 5 hrs later they called and told me they couldn’t do it because of my screen(aka the screen they installed on my phone) or something. I started looking around and found this place called iTek Reps( ) And he did it just fine. He told me he doesn’t know what radio shack was talking about and he found that they didn’t even install all the screws back inside so I had missing screws. So basically radio shack lies and is untrustworthy. If you’re looking for a place to repair your phone go to iTek Reps. They’re on Rufe Snow just about 10 min away and you also he a free screen protector with a repair.

This store is OK. I stopped in to price a battery. Price was a little high, but less expensive than driving to Fry’s. Guy working was super helpful and friendly. I browsed around the store and still think RS has a pretty good selection of stuff you might need for ordinary household needs. No, your not going to be able buy the parts to build something cool from scratch(like the good old days). But if you need something in a pinch(cables, chargers, batteries, gifts), I think RS will have you covered. PS. Decent selection of sealed lead acid(SLA) batteries too, at least enough for home application(alarm panel, FiOS, UPS, etc.). Again, the price was a bit high, but if you need it quick, this is still a good option. Oh, and as a bonus, they will take your old SLA battery for recycling(sealed batteries only, not automotive).

I struggle to understand the existence of Radio Shack anymore. Even the most basic electrical components they don’t carry(and haven’t in years) even a simple item like an RJ45 outlet for a house or an RJ45 coupler. What little they do carry is astronomically marked up making the drive to Frys worth it even at 5/dollars a gallon for gas. I think the new name should be ‘cell phone shack’ because this store has about 45% of it’s space dedicated to cell phones and cell phone accessories.
