You have to love the diversity of restaurants that exist in south Florida. This is one of those that has been around for a long time. They are your typical Colombian restaurant. They actually have live music on Friday’s and Saturday’s. Its a family atmosphere. The quantities served are super sized which is good for the value. The patacones or fried green plantains are perfectly made into a bowl. They are fried to perfection. The service is very good and you feel at home.

It is difficult to find delicious Vegan food in Miami, and although this restaurant is not Vegan the options for Vegans are exquisitely a delicious. A real treat with gracious service to match.

I’ve visited this restaurant about 3 times and have never been disappointed. I went for lunch today and was seated promptly but had to wait about 10 mins for service. We decided to place a take out order and the server was so polite and apologetic for the wait that we ended up staying and eating in. Within 10 minutes we received our meal and it was absolutely delicious! The portions are big and the picante sauce on the table is to die for!

I have always been a regular at this place, and have loved their food every time. However, as much as I try to love it completely for a 5 star rating, I cannot do so with such bad service. Service has only been good(not great) the first time I went. Other times the servers are just not on point. One example is I ordered a lemonade with coconut, I could see it ready at the bar, the server walked by it at least twice and also, approached the bar to get things for another table. Never acknowledged that I had been waiting for a bit. Another server had to bring it. They don’t check up or follow up. I don’t understand why they can’t improve on such important part of the business.

I will admit that I have no experience with Colombian food, but if this place is truly authentic and representative of Colombian food, then it’s safe to say that Colombian food is tasty. Located near the Tamiami Executive Airport, as well as the West Kendall Lexus and Toyota dealership, I came here due to its convenience to the service department, while I was getting maintenance on my vehicle. As someone else mentioned, being greeted upon arrival took quite some time. My friend and I stood around waiting for someone to approach us. The place was full, and I guess the service suffered somewhat, due to that. Finally, we were seated and scanned the menu. I was not in the mood for a patacon, despite being the restaurant’s namesake, and opted for something else, as did my friend. I ordered the Pollo Criollo, while he got the Bistec a Caballo(and no, it’s not horse meat, as you may think). These dishes came with a side salad, maduros, and white rice. Although our waiter was nice, he wasn’t too attentive, but it’s not due to sitting around or chatting. He was overwhelmed and was speed walking from table to table, even jogging at times. We both enjoyed our meal. It was well-seasoned, tasty, and not too heavy. At the same time, it was filling. I loved the pikliz-like relish on the table(sorry, I know the Haitian name for it, but not the Colombian name for it), and put it all over my meal to make it super spicy. My chicken was moist, tender, and tasty, but I just love spicy food and if hot sauce is available, I will make use for it. You may opt to not use the pikliz and may find it too hot for your taste. Unfortunately, getting refills on our drinks was something that required patience. Getting the bill at the end of our meal was even worse. I think we waited 10 minutes, though we felt bad for the waiter being made to run around like that — I even think I saw sweat beading up on his face from this workout. Considering how busy this place gets, I feel they ought to hire more wait staff. I don’t know if they just happened to be short-staffed that day, but my friend and I were in a rush to get to the Wings Over Miami Museum and we lost a lot of time here. Though we both enjoyed our meal(and I’d love to try the patacon next time), if the service is going to be that slow, it may prevent us from coming, as we like to eat and then move on to our plans without spending all afternoon being held up at a restaurant. This is the reason I opted for a 3-star rating, versus a 4-star rating.

El patacon antioqueno fue lo mejor que yo comí. Es un poco demorado pero vale la pena.

I had never been before and we decided to visit on a weekend afternoon for a birthday. From our party of six, only two had arrived and we were told that we would not be called until everyone arrived. Initially, I was pretty annoyed but fortunately I decided to give it a try. There is a reason why this place was jam packed! As a Hispanic in S. Fl, I’m not incredibly inclined to try Latin cuisine. This place has a lot of options I had not seen elsewhere. The juices are fresh and different. There are plenty of meals(of course, the patacons) that are not available elsewhere. I liked every single thing I tried. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. Additionally, the wait staff was lovely. Tip: not to visit during peak hours because this is a small spot. I will definitely be back!

Oh my goodness this place is great, I love Colombian food and was definitely not disappointed. They are reasonably priced, and their coconut drink(I forget the name) is delicious. If you love fried plantains as much as o do then you should definitely check this place out.

This place is a really nice change of pace. The«PATACON» is a whole or two plantains, smashed, flattened and fried into a boat. In it you have your choice of several options to pack it with– Rice, beans & steak, Colombian«Plato Paisa» fare(fried egg, pork cracklins, red beans, rice and stewed meat), seafood… All sorts of options. Anything from their menu is really good. They’re Colombian Coconut like drink is ridiculously good. I mean stupid good. For the food– this place deserves 5 stars. So what is preventing it? The service… Wait staff seem lifeless at times. You must repeat your order a few times because they may find new ways for you to try new food without your knowledge. I’ve been here 6 – 7 times, and I order the PATACON in some variety. My wife orders different things and she ends up missing items or wrong orders altogether. Such a same. This place could compete with some of the best places on this side of town if it wasn’t for the ok service. The food is soooo good though. Can’t fault the chef for the wait staff. So run and try this place out. You’ll be happy you did, just be patient with your server.

As a Colombian, it’s nice to see Colombian restaurant with some variety in the menu. I had the patacon with shrimp which was delicious and my friend had the fish special which was also very good. Friendly service and timely as well. Will likely head back for lunch during the week soon.

This is a great Colombian spot located in London Square. Their empanadas are always delicious… Pair it with their aji and it’s perfection. The coconut lemonade is interesting, refreshing and tasty. Service is great and the food is yummy. We’ve tried the bandeja paisa with medium well steak and the llanero with chicken.

Chain Colombian restaurant located in Kendall. Not a bad place for a quick and reasonable meal. The empanadas are OK, mostly potato filling and little meat. The shell on this visit was soggy. The perfect empanadas have crispy shell and seasoned filling with plenty of meat, so these fail on that measure. The other signature Colombian dish is the Plato Paisa is good, but portions have been shrinking. Service was good on this visit. Seems like a recent change of management has occurred. The last manager I use to see was obnoxious and walked around like he was mad. Their signature Patacon Pisao was very good, crispy and delicious served with meat in mushroom sauce.

I am a huge fan of Colombian breakfast but haven’t really tried their lunch and dinner cuisine. I moved to a new area recently and this restaurant caught my attention. Specifically because«Patacon» makes the name of it and I love Patacons! For those not familiar with the term, they are plantains that are flattened down, fried, with a touch of salt. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted and seated. Our server was very nice. He proceeded to explain the menu and the specials of the day. They make some very interesting natural juices. We ordered a juice… a mix of coconut and lemonade. It was very good but a bit heavy. They bring it in a large glass(which has an awesome design) but I was not able to drink it all. We decided to order the patacon with chicken and meat covered in a mushroom sauce. The dish is large so great for sharing! I enjoyed the presentation but the actual chicken and meat did not have much flavor. Even with the sauce, we added salt because it was quite bland. The patacon itself was tasty though. I don’t see myself ordering this dish again. I plan to order one of the seafood Patacons next time Desert followed, a delicious warn brownie with vanilla ice cream. I give it 10 stars! This was the best part of our meal. The service was ok, although the server was nice, he kind of disappeared for long periods of time. We never received a refill of water. I would like to return and order a different dish. I am sure a patacon without the heavy mushroom sauce will be much better!

My first time eating Colombian cuisine today and I enjoyed every bit of my food. I first got my papaya shake that I ordered and it was creamy and delicious. My food arrived at the table and my mouth just started to water. To food looked incredible and the taste was divine. My heart and stomach are both completely content with this place and I’d definitely recommend it. The service is great and the prices are pretty reasonable. I’m so glad I found this place I’ll definitely be a returning customer.

3 stars for food! Came by with family friends for a late lunch since I’ve heard so many great things! The food was great but the service needs some work! Pros: — maracuya with water– delish! — yuca frita– a must! — patacon with shrimp and melted cheese was great(although they charge extra for the pink sauce aka mayo-ketchup!) Cons: — no one was at the door to greet you even thought it says«wait to be seated.» When I took the liberty of grabbing a few menus to sit, the waiter/owner(since he was in regular clothes) had an attitude that I took the menus — 2 plates came out 10 minutes after the first 2 plates were brought. Umm, I think we’d all like to eat together I’d still like to come back and try it again. Although it wasn’t even busy when I was there, everyone has their moments. ‘Til next time!
