Just stopped here with a large group of college students on a service trip during Spring break. Picked spicy chicken sandwich combo, one of my favorite items whenever ordering at Wendy’s. Nothing extraordinary but a satisfying meal even with fast food prices increasing.

This is the Wendy’s in the small Food Court of the Kenly Petro Truck Stop on I-95. The wife and I stopped in here on the way down to Charleston to refuel the car, and then stopped at the Wendy’s to refuel our bellies. There was no line, but the order took a while because everything was being made to order, which was great. They seemed to move a tad slow because not long after we got our food, a decent line began to form. Overall a good Wendy’s but not the best I’ve had. I’m a Wendy’s fan and I throw them 4-stars if they nail it. The fries here — they nailed those. Crispy and hot out of the fryer. Yum. But for some reason the burger didn’t seem to be quite as tasty as I get from my local Wendy’s. It wasn’t bad — it just didn’t quite have that Wendy’s flavor. Service here was polite and cheerful, better than you might expect from a Wendy’s in a truck stop food court. For a quick bite from a truck stop, you could easily do worse.

This Wendy’s semmed like it was the only Wendy’s for miles, or atleast right off I-95 south if Virginia. Let me tell you the food seemed to never taste so good. Lol it is in a truck stop. Which was HUGE and everything a trucker could want. There was even a small movie theater. The lady messed up my order and I ended up getting more food than I paid for which was a plus. Other than that I was just happy to see a Wendy’s after all those miles drivin’!!
