Took a last minute chance after desperately trying to find a lunch spot and ended up here. Thankfully so! It wasn’t crowded and we seated ourselves. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered the Spanish coffee and omg it was sooooo good! My daughter enjoyed the BBQ wings and ginger ale. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the turkey burgers and fries. Well seasoned and fully cooked. We will certainly be back!

Hands down, the best place to eat lunch if you’re in the neighborhood. Fantastic people serving fantastic food everytime. Try the Cajun Chicken Sandwich, comes with macaroni salad that’s better than mom’s! I have to come back for dinner sometime, promise!

I dined at Amigos this week for the second time. The first time I quickly learned that it is not Mexican food and I wouldn’t be getting a taco. The food was delicious. I ordered the calamari to start and had a steak sandwich as my entrée. I like my steak rare but that can be tricky in sandwiches because it could end up being chewy. Our server informed us that they use a better cut of meat so I could order it rare. It was perfect. I upgraded to the fries since chips come with the meal. I thought it was odd that they offer chips as a side for steak sandwich when it’s a nicer restaurant. It seemed a little cheap.

Have been by this kind of out of the way place many times and we decided to stop in and give it a try. 7:30 on a Saturday night and there was just 1 car in the parking lot, this had me a little worried. The bartender greeted us as soon as we entered and told us we can sit anywhere we would like. The waitress gave us a warm and friendly hello and followed us to our booth with menus in hand and took our drink order right away. We ordered the stuffed banana peppers as an appetizer and placed our dinner orders at the same time. The peppers were great but the kitchen took a LONG time to prepare our entrées. Since there was just 1 other person in the dining room we thought it was an excessive wait for dinner. The entrées were certainly worth the wait but I think that if the dining room was busier we would have been ready to leave by the time dinner arrived. The server was apologetic and it was not her fault but I wish management would have made an appearance to explain the delay.

I’ve always seen this place but never went inside. A friend of mine LOVES it here so we gave it a shot. I got a chicken in the grass sandwich and it was pretty good. The portions are HUGE and the homemade mac salad is the bomb. Everything seemed to be prepared fresh. I heard people really enjoy the greek haddock and the Cajun chicken as well! The fries were good, and I’m generally not a fry person. We went kind of early for dinner on a Saturday at around 4:30−5pm and we were the only people in the place… I hate when that happens but our waitress was THE nicest woman. So I guess it worked out in our favor. The bar area is fully stocked and the other wait staff seemed wonderful as well. Love a good local restaurant.

This place keeps on impressing me. No matter what I have to eat, it always surpasses my expectations, which are already high. Today was the marinated Cajun Chicken sandwich. … just wow… Throw in good atmosphere, great staff and ownership. #winning

Came here for lunch with clients as their choice. Good, home-style food that seemed freshly prepared. I ordered the chicken soup with banana peppers which was excellent. I also had the Cajun haddock with green beans and mashed potatoes. The fish was very fresh, flaky, well seasoned and not over cooked. The beans were a bit cool but had a nice, garlicky flavor. The mashed potatoes were adequate but could have been more finely mashed. Service was good and the décor was casual.

The live music was great! Love the atmosphere. It is a little on the expensive side, but other than that, I’m glad that I came!

Amigos is one of our favorite places to go when we dine out as a group. The staff always goes out of their way to make sure that customers are well satisfied and that their needs are properly addressed. The food is always cooked to order and they graciously take responsibility for any problems, even when they are not of their making.(Yep, I failed to read the description fully on the menu and being the picky eater that I am I had to ask them to bring me a modified version. Although I asked them to please put it on my bill, it never showed up. Yes, I am a bit fussy about what I eat.) Finally, I like the fact that one can make a choice between sitting in the bar area or the dining room. The bar area can be very lively while the dining room is very family friendly.

In our search for different places to try for Friday fish fry, we took a chance on Amigos. I had been there a few times before and had good experiences, so I called to make a reservation for a table of 5. They do not take reservations on Fridays during Lent, but we had no trouble getting a table once we arrived.(I think they were anticipating more of a rush) Most of us went with a form of the fish fry, and they do have several nice choices. They offer beer battered, fried, Cajun, broiled and I think cornmeal. Two of us got the Cajun while our ladies got the broiled. Our other guest got the French dip roast beef sandwich and loved it. All of us enjoyed our fish. Very good size and well seasoned(perhaps too much of the Cajun spice, but the flavor was great). They offer a ton of side choices, all of which seemed quite good. Service was good. The waiter got us drinks from the bar when we first sat down, however, never offered up any water. I had to ask the hostess for some well after my meal had arrived. I looked around at other tables, and they all had full water glasses, so perhaps he just forgot. Not a big deal. The price was comparable to other area bar/restaurants offering fish fry, but the atmosphere is more of an upscale dining experience with nice tables and quiet surroundings. Parking can be a bit of a pain, as I think they only have about 5 spots in front, but I hear you can park behind the animal hospital(or whatever it is) at night without issue. Overall, I would say Amigos is worth checking out. Good food, fair prices, decent beer list and a pretty nice bar which is separated nicely from the dining area.

Pesto bread app, beef on weck, and fettuccine Alfredo… Yummy! Most places offer fettuccine Alfredo and forget that it should taste… like anything… anything at all. Amigo’s got it right! Super flavorful! Service is excellent. Such a warm glow from the entire staff. We’ll be back(maybe more than is healthy).

I had the beer batter fish fry with the twice baked and close slaw and everything was great. My lady had the chicken parm and really enjoyed that as well. I tried her parm and thought it was good, if not a dollar or two overpriced, but really not by much. Service was excellent even at peak time on a Friday night. House wine a little over-priced at $ 7 but it was a great pour to the top of the glass, do probably worth it. $ 5 a pint of San Adam’s also standard. Overall great service, good food, and a nice quiet and cozy dining area. I’d like to go back and try more. It’s a good place close to home with decent prices and a lot of options on the menu. Parking is limited.

Amigo’s is located at the corner of Elmwood & Kenmore(right next to the Curve’s Gym location, there is parking in front as well as behind the Veterinarian hospital). The restaurant is split into two rooms, the bar area and the dine-in room, both are of equal size and both exude a casual contemporary ambiance. The bar seemed to have the most activity due to a Sabres game on, so we chose to dine there. We seated ourselves right at the bar in front of one of the three flat screen TVs, as well as in front of the Grill chef. Our server was noticably new to the restaurant industry, so I won’t harp on how sub-par the service was but that doesn’t excuse the fact that she did not know any of the specials or that the Filet Mignon is a Steak! But I’m getting ahead of myself. When asked to see the wine list, I was told that none of the wines listed are what they had and when asked about what they did have, our server brought us 6 bottles(literally) to show us what they had, which wasn’t too impressive. The menu covers a broad range of cuisine with Seafood, Steaks, Pastas, Barfood & Gourmet Sandwiches. We began our meal with the Fried Calamari, which was presented nicely, but was a little tough. For entrees, we ordered the 12 oz Filet Mignon and the 12oz Seasoned Black Angus Strip Steak Sandwich. We requested Medium Rare for both meats for which only the Strip Steak came as ordered. The Filet Mignon was overcooked towards the Medium well side. The Strip Steak was loaded with onions, peppers, mushroom & cheese and was good. Despite the wrong preparation, the Filet was ok, but I’ve had better at many places. Menu items range from $ 5 — 20, excluding the market price steaks. I will return for a second try but will opt for the dining room next time around. Overall if you are looking for something different, Amigo’s is a serene & fresh place to dine in Kenmore.
