Uplake Grocery

As of a few months ago, there’s been a change of ownership. So the extra debit card fees for purchases under $ 10 and kids buying alcohol is no longer the case. I come here quite often and the new owners are super friendly, I’ve never been charged extra for using my debit card for less than $ 10, and I see them checking IDs all the time.
I don’t think the new owners know about this Unilocal page, so I felt like I had to say something in their defense. They are good people. They took over from the old owners not too long ago and have made lots of positive changes.
With that said, this is such a nice store. Totally beats having to go into a large grocery store, wading through the crowd, standing in line… etc etc. I can just walk in, grab what I need, pay for it, and walk out the door in under five minutes. Friendly owners are a total plus!

Close to home and an easy place to get pick up drinks and snacks. The owner/​staff are very friendly and have great customer service.

Yes they will stock almost any item you request and they’re always happy to see their regulars. What I don’t like is their policies. If you have a debit card and purchase under $ 10.00 they add an additional .50 to the total (without mentioning it).
Here is what pisses me off and I know it comes directly from the owners because all of them do it: if you make a purchase over $ 10.00 and hand them a debit/​credit card they will automatically add .50 and run it as a debit.
I have brought this issue to their attention and they smirk, shrug and claim to not no English… WTF!!!
EVERY time now I tell them credit and it seems to me like I annoy the hell out of them when I ask this due to their dirty looks…
If they weren’t so close to my house and there were a better place to go close by I would never go here again…

Solid place to get beer and snacks. Always very friendly.
