We get so excited for breakfast and coffee, but HB Provisions was disappointing: everything was as uninspiring as the menu would have you believe. THEGOOD Maple bacon was the lonely bit of flavor in our bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches. The gingerbread cookie latte was quite tasty; perfectly spiced although a bit too sweet come the end of their large cup. THEBAD I wasn’t happy with the 35 minute wait for takeout(everyone takes-out), which was compounded by the fact that or lattes came out immediately — so they were cold by the time I got my wife’s back home to her. The mocha latte was weak. Literally tasted like steamed milk. Period. They didn’t put any syrup in it, just some chocolate sauce that’s flavorless, which I know from trying some w my finger. THEWORST The bacon egg and cheese sandwiches were brutal. $ 7 for a bready bagle that engulfs a tiny ball of egg. They’re like a burger that’s all bun. Not even much cheese to speak of. The maple bacon is a must, because even after I added salt & hot sauce, there was no other flavor.

Steak and cheese sub(6 inch). Good bread, lightly toasted, steak, sautéed mushrooms, green peppers, onions and cheese. Good flavor. Friendly staff and free WiFi. Heading to Old Vines Wine Bar but they don’t open until 5pm and I was planning to eat there. so I find HB Provisions by happenstance. great loaded steak sub and a Zipz glass of Merlot I cannot drink here(state law) but it looks like fun, and was featured on Shark Tank(which featured a couple of my friends a while back) so I though … why not?! And they’re playing old standard jazz so a good segue to tonight! Ambiance is a convenient store with casual seating for the sandwich shop. Everything from coffee to tourist souvenirs, dairy products to beer and wine available.

Such a cute and welcoming little place! My boyfriend and I were passing through Kennebunk and this was the perfect rest stop to fuel up and enjoy a nice breakfast. I got the corned beef hash and it was unlike any I had before — quality stuff! They also have cute little board games set up at the tables to play while you eat, and overall the ambiance was cozy, adorable, and fun. The people there are incredibly friendly!

This was a great little find for breakfast. The food was really good. Only reason it doesn’t get five stars is that it’s a little pricey for what you get.

Cute little place, and I loved the idea of going to a place where locals go too. Unfortunately, I was really underwhelmed by the food. It was pretty expensive($ 8 or $ 9) for a tiny roasted veggie sandwich that barely had any of the roasted veggies or goat cheese it was supposed to have. The lobster roll($ 16) was also strange… it was on a hamburger bun with tomato and lettuce. Not what you expect when you get a lobster roll in Maine!

Nice people. Awful sandwich. I paid almost $ 10 for a roasted veg sandwich which was way more bread than veg. And most of the veg seemed to be acorn squash, which can be lovely. But is much better without the skin on. VERY disappointing. Live close by, but do not plan on going back.

Great food, especially their maple bacon. It is thick cut bacon slathered maple syrup. Awesome for egg sandwiches or lobster blts. No 5 stars due to the very slow and erroneous service. Every time I call ahead there is something wrong with my order! If I go there to order I wait 20 minutes to pick up 2 egg sandwiches.

I went to H.B. Provisions the first time this past weekend — and ended up there almost everyday I was in Kennebunk! All the employees are so friendly and the vibe at HB is great. I recommend the Maple Bacon Wrap(still dreaming about it) and the«All Stacked Up» for breakfast. Coffee is great too! Amazing experience overall!

Best Corn Beef Hash in the Solar System. Seriously, it is outrageous ! When eating it you just want to go somewhere to be alone with it. Just you and the hash… quality time. But the other items on the menu are also incredible. Had a wrap for breakfast that had eggs and onions and potatoes and bacon and maple with some guacamole. I never try stuff like this and when i did, i came back the next day and had the same thing. Everything here is really good and the owner is hands on to make sure of it. And also very nice. Great vibe. Peter Vermont

Overall I love the place, they have a lot of great foods and condiments, but they have no clue how to make an Italian sub, very disappointing !!

Quintessential country store(something for everyone) that also has a grill/deli. We stopped in for breakfast and had breakfast wraps; they were awesome. The store felt like the epicenter of the community… pictures of sports teams, the Bush family, etc. It is not really a restaurant though, but they do have seating if you decide to stay in for your food. This is more of a grab’n’go general store. I had the Travis special and would recommend it.

This place is cute. It’s a little bit of everything — coffee, deli, bakery, grocery & souvenir store. I am probably missing a few other services they have to offer. I absolutely love its state of offering a little bit of everything to everyone. Explore the store. We came in for the pie — Maine Blueberry pie to be precise. Since we were there for the day, and we don’t feel like driving to the next town only to buy a pie to bring home, we opted to pick up a whole blueberry pie at this store. My husband loved it. He said it reminded him of the blueberry pie we bought at Moosehead Lake, which was really good. At 16.95(incl tax), it’s a steal. The pie is chock full of blueberries. I wonder why there weren’t previous mentions of their pies. They also offered two other pies beside the blueberries. Give it a go. Other than that, they have a nice breakfast selection going, a counter filled with prepared food as well as a small cabinet filled with a small selection of doughnuts, muffins, and cinnamon buns.

The Best Damn Corned Beef Hash in the state of Maine! This place has a lot of character and you won’t be disappointed. Happy 4th of July!

This was a surprise stop in Kennebunkport on an early morning run to help a friend get her car. First, I have to say that they serve breakfast all day and the food all looked so good, but I settled on a bagelwich. It came with eggs, homemade hashbrowns, choice of meat and cheese; mine was sans cheese. When we tried to pay, we were advised that we pay on the way out. We grabbed a table by the window and settled in with what looked like regulars. Our food was brought to us and it was delightfully massive and tasty. They have a wooden tic tac toe board as well as a cross stitch puzzle to work on. The store itself has a little area for dine in as well as coolers for drinks and standard convenience store food stuffs as well as fresh produce. There seems to be something in each nook and cranny for you to discover.

The food, service and atmosphere at HB Provisions is truly delightful. Relaxed, casual dining with prompt service and a serious commitment to food makes this one of a kind. The lobster roll here is among the best, if not the absolute best I’ve ever had. It is a massive portion of lobster, served warm with a drizzle of butter, some crunchy romaine lettuce for texture, and a warm kaiser roll that has been toasted on the skillet. I have had many items in the store, this is mind-blowingly good. I prefer my lobster roll warm with a little butter rather than slipped with mayo and celery. This is so much more than a general store. The take-out and fresh made baked goods are divine. The beer and wine is also quite well stocked.

We(I) are always in search of great corn beef hash. While we were staying at one of the local B&B’s that offered a hot breakfast we opted to head into town and try the corn beef hash we had seen on Unilocal. The prices are a little higher than the on-line menu and the hash was more of pulled style then the advertised chunks, the eggs were perfect and multigrain sourdough was yummy. We were not disappointed. The small dining area is seat yourself and grab your own coffee, and was very social. We enjoyed talking to other travelers, locals and the owners. My first day there I helped myself to a coffee refill, and noticed everybody watching me. MYGF asked me if we could get refills, «I didn’t see anything that said we couldn’t». We also picked some blueberry coffee cake for«afternoon tea». The next morning I asked my GF if she wanted to go to the Unilocal well rated pancake place in town and her response was no, I want more hash. This time I found the no refill(price for a refill) hidden on the dairy dispenser. I am sorry I am buying two of the highest priced breakfast plates on the menu plus two cups of coffee($ 30 w/tax) I don’t think I should pay for coffee refills. Plus both times we purchased a bakery item to go. I get it, there was some evidence I noted on the second trip that they must have issues with people camping out reading the newspapers and drinking coffee all morning for a couple of bucks. But, there was that sign and I felt like a jerk and only had the one cup of coffee…

The market that has it all. I have been going here since I was born — seriously! This place has served three generations and counting in my family. Love the coffee station — it couldn’t be any more easy to use. And the breakfast sandwiches are amazing. Best thing on the menu is hands down the candied bacon. I could probably eat three plates full. My last visit my friends and I hung out and played the fun games at the table while sipping on coffee and hiding from the rain. The market has just enough stuff for last minute needs and they dominate the trinkets for presents to send to people. The HB staff puts capital C in Customer Service — I have never left thinking man they could have been more helpful — they are always willing to go the extra mile which is why I go there so often.

There are times in one(wo)man’s life where you eat something and say: «this is the best» of that«thing» you’ve ever eaten. This has happened only a few times in my short 31 years in life. A taco here, a chicken parm there, a dumpling that time and it happened last weekend at HB Provisions with their corned beef hash. If you are searching for what I’m putting as the best corn beef hash this side of the Mississippi, head to Kennebunk Maine, stat. I can see why this charming little market with a deli counter and a small seating area in the back is a hot spot for locals and tourists alike. Hell, G. H W Bush and family are fans. I went with Travis’ Famous Wrap. I didn’t add hot sauce. I wanted to, but I refrained. I really wish they salt and peppered it up before wrapping it up, but other than that no complaints. A quality wrap filled with perfectly scrambled eggs, the most delicious maple bacon ever, sauteed onions and perfectly crisped hash browns. Per the owner(working the deli counter), Johnny Mac ordered the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and toast. WOW. Almost like a pulled pork, this was just a heaping pile of heaven. Almost too good to share, but alas I can see why I was told people usually order it along with something else to split. You almost feel bad eating the whole thing. It’s also just a lot of the same thing and breakfast is all about incorporating so many different flavors. The toast was high quality buttered bread. Just thinking about the corned beef and potato mixture is making me hunnnngry and I’m not a hash type woman. The baked goods like the freshly made donuts, pop tarts, whoopie pies, regular pies and muffins all looked like knock outs. I refrained from indulging my sweet tooth by using all my will power, but don’t be an idiot like me and order all that good stuff up. Five stars HB Provisions, five stars.

We stopped by here on our way to the beach for a parking permit(Kennebunk Beach Permits are required from June 15 — September 15 each year. Permits are valid for Gooch’s Beach, Kennebunk Beach(Middle Beach) and Mother’s Beach. 9am to 5pm.) — $ 15 for a non-resident day pass. It is a neat little store stuffed full of foodstuff and souvenir knick-knacks. There’s an area with some table and chairs for munching with relative comfort, cool signs up on the walls, and supposedly a public bathroom that we weren’t able to locate(but hey, we didn’t ask). It is a bit tight in there too(I knocked down a small stack of yogurt covered pretzels with a simply oblivious turn of my backpack laden body — embarrassing!), so walk with a touch of care. Not a bad place to pick up some food to go. I spotted some individually packed desserts including an interestingly colored layer cake, and a pair of hot soup crocks, as well as some pre-packed pasta salad, chips, & etc.
