My fiancée and I went into Kennebunk to go to Federal Jack’s for lunch, when we found out that it was an hour long wait we ended up coming to Ryan’s. We ordered 2 burgers, 1 well drink, and 1 whiskey shot. When the bill came it was over $ 60. That’s how much we would have spent if we went to Captain Jack’s with better food and beverages. The servers were friendly and I guess they raised the prices because it was summer? I’m not sure, but I wouldn’t go back.

What a great place to grab a drink! Classic Irish pub on the main strip in Kennebunkport. They had live music and the staff was very friendly.

Like an earlier reviewer, this charming little spot places a pivotal plot point in my true love story. It might have been a third date when we came to Ryan’s, and have seemed to wind up there about once a week since. The space is ‘beam’ing with great energy, its low ceilings lending to the pub’s cozy welcome. The meals have been outstanding. All of them. The enormous haddock filet in their Fish n’ Chips is a champion, with a deceivingly light batter, fried to crisp perfection, and the blue cheese mussels are a recurring special not to be missed if you are a shellfish fan. There are some great dishes going on in here, much more than the expected Irish ‘Pub’ food, and the owners and staff are ALL warm and welcoming. Love this place!

I fell in love with my girlfriend at this place. Amongst other places I continue to fall in love with her, but this quaint friendly pub was were I truly learned how great she is and how much I want to be with her and experience places like this with her!

Stopped by here on the way to a wedding to catch some of the Patriots game before it started. I really enjoyed the place as it was not flooded with tourists, and was greeted by the local crowed who were also enjoying football. I had some Excellent clamcakes and a few drinks then was on my way.

Went to grab a bite to eat with a friend last night. I ordered shepherd’s pie and my friend ordered the beef stew. Both dishes were mediocre at best(I’m being kind). Based on this experience, certainly wouldn’t go again for the food. The saving grace was the free parking in back.

What a great, unique Irish Pub! Really loved the atmosphere of this joint. The low ceiling made it extra cozy. While very small, it gave an unusual experience of feeling very authentic! Service was great! Nice Irish music played overhead. My husband and I shared a Shepherd’s Pie, which was OK in my opinion, but I gave the restaurant a 5 because of the feel of the restaurant. My husband thought the pie was outstanding! Once again, I think this is just preferences in taste as nothing was wrong with the entrée at all. The pie contained hunks of hamburger and few carrots or peas. I think at this point in our vacation I was craving more vegetables. Would love to go back to visit this place.

Finally got around to giving Ryan’s a try earlier this year and it lived up to my hopes. Tracy(I hope I’ve remembered her name correctly — co-owner with her husband.) was charming. Guinness and Smithwick’s on tap is always appreciated. I did not try the food. My only quibble, making this a 4-star review and not 5, is that, being there during the off-season, on a Friday afternoon, it was as apparent that I was the only non-regular at the bar. So I actually felt a bit ignored… Honestly, I will return and become a regular in my own way(I am in KPT3 to 5 times/year.), but going forward I will bring a book to read while I quaff.

Great people watching in front along Western Avenue. Very small inside and I would not recommend spending much time in there. Not much more to say, other than it appeared to be the only Irish pub in Kennebunk.

Across the street from The Grand Hotel, a great local spot to grab a proper pint! This is one of the few places open late here in town. Careful if you’re over 6’3″…ceilings are low… Only came for drinks post dinner, so not sure about the food. But love the Irish pubmosphere…

Kennebunkport overall is a very sleepy town. There are few places open past 10pm, let alone past midnight. This is due to the average age of the patrons of this little village being about 58 years old. Go into most bars and restaurants in the area and you’ll probably see a lot people that look like your grandparents. Your grandfather left your grandmother to her knitting and went out to Ryan’s Corner and shut the place down. At least that’s what we found when we went there one Thursday night. Lot’s of older dudes who had one too many Guinness and were either a) actually Irish or b) pretending to talk in Irish accents. Either way it was hilarious. The bartender was fast and the energy of this place far exceeded anywhere else. Come in, have a pint, and don’t miss the interesting posters in the unisex bathroom!

Get the lamb chops appetizer. In fact, order 2. Brilliant. Waitress was down to earth and friendly and a nice change from the upscale busy yuppy restaurants down the street. A bit of humble grit in the middle of an otherwise tourist town.

The food was gross(dry and chewy chicken tenders), the service slow and forgetful, the only saving grace was the patio to enjoy the summer night.

We had a nice lunch at Ryan’s today. Our server, Abby, was friendly and didn’t forget a thing. The kitchen seemed a bit slow but everything was delicious and worth the wait. The only surprise to me was the lack of corned beef on the menu, but I’m not complaining. Speed up the kitchen a bit and Ryan’s would be perfect, but if the slowness is a deliberate attempt to create a relaxed atmosphere, don’t change a thing.

We have been back a few times this year. A great waitstaff, real good food & a convivial atmosphere in one of the coolest towns in the world.

Stopped in for drinks over Thanksgiving weekend. The bartender was really nice. The bar has a great selection of beers at a reasonable price. In the summer they have a nice sidewalk patio. They are located just a short walk from the bridge to Kennebunkport.

We went here one rainy night while in Kennebunkport. This place reminded us of home(Boston!) A good irish pub. Cozy, casual, decent food. I had the turkey burger — not so exciting. But my husband LOVED his fish and chips. I loved the atmosphere.(being pregnant I can’t speak for the beer, but it looked good!) There was a nice outside eating area, which looked like it would be fun on a nice day or evening. I’d go back.
