I guess people who live near kennebunk and give this coffee shop 5 stars don’t have any experience with well prepared coffee or food. I was also charged WAY too much, more than you would pay for something really great in NYC or Brooklyn. Shabby coffee houses/hangouts are fine, but this seems like a place where the kids running it are more interested in hanging out than running a business. Ever been to Mocha Joe’s in Brattleboro? This is not Mocha Joe’s.

We absolutely loved it here: the location, the setting, the interior, the service, the product. Hard to believe, but it could not have been any better.

Comfy, Cool& Convenient. In a just a few years the Seed & Bean has become a local favorite. The food and the drinks are always well prepared by caring workers. We live nearby and find it a great place for a sandwich to go(we did that today)-or a latte with business associates(yesterday). This is a cherished institution in West Kennebunk.

cutest coffee shop I’ve ever been to. me and my boyfriend came here last Saturday morning to try the sunrise panini and grab a coffee. food was amazing and the coffee was delicious. definitely only a once and a while treat due to how expensive the coffee is(4.13 for a small latte)

The Seed & Bean might be my new favorite coffee shop in all of Maine. The first thing I love: the interior… it feels like a renovated barn; rustic and woodsy and warm due to the sun pouring in through the numerous windows. Even if it had been raining, I can’t imagine it would have felt any less delightful… maybe at that point even a bit European. I could see this place being similar to Harry Potter’s Room of Requirement: it can be whatever you want it to be. Meeting space? First date location? A place to quietly read a good book? A temporary office? A good locale to connect with long lost friends? Yum. Speaking of which, I think the coffee I had here was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had in my life. Patiently the girl behind the small counter rattled through what was in each of their specialty lattes(there’s only five or six: Nutella and Banana Split being the two most popular; also of note: they used Coffee By Design beans). I settled on a large iced Chocolate Cherry Latte and it was so delicious that I actually got in line to get a second(before talking myself out of it that is… HUGE mistake in the end; life is short, live indulgently). It tasted like the most decadent, delicious chocolate covered cherry candy in the world that was then magically turned into an iced coffee beverage. I mean, I know it sounds simple, but do you know how many flavored lattes just taste cloyingly sweet or overly artificial or even insanely underwhelming? But it’s been days and days since this drink… and I just can’t stop thinking about it. I mean, it’s not weird at all that I now plan all of my trips out of state around going to the Seed & Bean first, is it? Because, seriously, that’s how smitten this kitten is right meow!

So, I’m actually sitting at Seed & Bean right now, and I’m not sure if writing a review AS I’m here is a faux pas or not, but I’m doing it anyway. But seriously, the cappuccino I just had(I’m on number two right now, and I upgraded to a large this time around), along with the gluten-free rhubarb cake, just deserved an immediate review. The place is beautiful. It’s built in what appears to be an old, quintessentially Coastal New England house. There are five two-seater tables in this room, a couch and some chairs in one of the adjacent rooms, and a bar and more seating(albeit a limited amount) in the other adjacent room. And I’m sitting beside an open window getting the perfect breeze. It definitely makes for a wonderful atmosphere. Of course the extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff makes a difference as well. I went with a regular cappuccino, my poison of choice, but the menu seems to be somewhat extensive and varied. The list of signature drinks includes things such as the always delicious Nutella latte, and a chocolate cherry latte, but it’s not limited to those two things. I live a few towns over, but a special event brought me to the Kennebunk area today. Given that I have my local coffee shop, I’m not driving the fifteen or twenty minutes to get here, but any time I’m in the area, Seed & Bean is going to be a must-do, as it should be for you, too.

I like the seed and bean a lot. I must admit that I’ve never been to the wine bar part of it but its great to grab a good cup of coffee on your way to work in the morning. The staff is very friendly but very young. My only complaint is if there are people in front of you with an order for a few lattes you could be standing there for as much as 10 minutes just to get a black coffee. Hopefully that will sort itself out as these young baristas hone their craft.

Great re-use of an old house, with several art-filled spaces for settling into conversation or solitary time. Flavorful panini and reasonable Italian soda for lunch. Friendly, fairly prompt service. A bit pricy, but for the quality ingredients and proper preparation, probably worth it.

Cozy spot to grab a coffee in Kennebunk. Lots of different latte options. There are food options as well if you are coming for more than just java. Woo hoo free wifi! Enjoy this quaint spot.

This place is like a cozy home-there’s several rooms-one with couches, another with round tables and the main room with your usual furniture. I got the balto sandwich that had bacon, avocado, pesto mayonnaise, tomato, onion, and lettuce on a three seed bread. It was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! If you check-in through Unilocal, you also get 10% off. They also gave us waters in mason jars, which is always cute. Free wifi, too.

I am a espresso snob so I am hard on coffee places. I had a wonderful chocolate cherry latte here. We were staying in Saco, but it was worth the 10 mile drive to get here!

I almost can’t believe it– a café and wine bar in Kennebunk! I’m so excited about this place. Great espresso and cappuccino, and good selection of coffees and baked goods. They also have make your own waffles on the weekends. The staff are super friendly, and the coffee shop is comfy and cozy, with a big comfy couch, plenty of seating space and tables, and the walls are decorated with art from local artists. I’m head over heels in LOVE!

I’m a MA girl always on the lookout for a new coffee spot… I just don’t feel quite right if I’m not within 20 miles of a nice coffee and couch. I was up in Maine for a few days, and there are basically no chill cafes in Ogunquit. Unilocal to the rescue… I see the Seed and Bean, and head on over. It’s a bit of a drive, and really not close to anything else that I would go to… WORTHIT. For seating, it’s mostly tables, but they have these gorgeous leather couches in this nook with a large wooden chest. It’s really beautiful. I’m sure that when tourist season rolls around it will be more crowded.(I know that I technically count as a tourist, but I don’t FEEL like one.) For a drink, I got a mocha. It was one of the most delicious and decadent beverage experiences I’ve ever had. The women who were working weren’t the most engaging people – I would’ve liked to hear more about the store. But they were very friendly and efficient. The music was a little loud, but the selection was good. They had some pretty standard coffee shop selections, and the prices were all around 3 or 4 dollars, which also seems standard. I will definitely be back.

This place is awesome. Great coffee, great service, the old house is beautifully fixed up so it is a great place to sit with your laptop, with friends, or for a small meeting. Plenty of room. They are going to develop the gardens there too so it will only get more inviting. Great destination place for coffee, etc.

Comfy and cozy coffee house. Very inviting as soon as you come through the door! Coffee was good with plenty of flavors of lattes available! I didn’t have any food but the menu looked yummy! Helpful and friendly staff. West kennebunk really needed a place like this(a place to get a good cup of coffee!) And I hope it stays around for awhile! Wish I lived here again!
