My fiancé told me that this place had good food but I will never know because I will never be back and I didn’t even order. Both of us, accompanied by our three year old son, arrived half an hour before they closed– which we were promptly notified of! As soon as we walked in the crew huddled in the kitchen doorway and told us that the fryers where already off and they closed in 30 minutes so what did we want to order? We had just wanted a quick meal to go but the staff’s rude demeanor showed that they would rather be without our business.

Best poboys in the city! Great prices and very friendly staff! Love their daily lunch specials and their overstuffed poboys. Everything is fresh and homemade and oh so tasty! I come here at least once a week. Great location and easy to find parking!

You’ll Love The Overstuffed Sandwiches But Not The Rudeness of Certain Staff I ordered over the phone a muffaletta and was greeted by a rude voice interrupted by a fax machine sounding off in the middle of the order. Couldn’t speak so I called back again and the same thing happened. When I complained the fax machine was going off during the call all she could say was, OK. No rectifying the issue or resolving the matter or concern. So I told her I would be over to make a complaint in-between the fax machine still interrupting. The person who waited on me and took the order was Melissa, who was just as rude in person as when I complained to her about the fax machine issue and her lack of concern. According to my research on this company the owner shows up as Jack Manasco. But my request for him on a subsequent phone call, according to Melissa, says he’s no longer the owner. New owners are Matt and Alice according to her. Hope they are more responsible than this certain staff member and former owner who was convicted of directing daring armed robberies of ATM machines in Kenner, La. If you can handle this person’s rude conduct you just might enjoy the muffaletta, highly recommended. If the new owners read this review I welcome them to respond.

Not nearly the food I was expecting. It actually looked far better than I originally thought with all of the«dive» depictions and it was neat in the both the eating area and behind the food counter. The red beans & rice with the hot sausage … average at best. Fish po’ boy had a small sliver of nondescript fish included … bread a little chewy … There are better po’boys in the city … in fact … every other one I have eaten — were better. Plus they were not very friendly or seemed to care if you were there or not … So in the future, for me … it will be ORNOT

I recently started working literally 4 mins from this deli. I can tell you the EVERYTHING you get here is fresh made and excellent. I eat here twice a week at a minimum and have been exploring the menu, from the red beans and rice to the sausage poboy, to shrimp, and today the absolute monster of a club sandwich! Never been disappointed and you know it is good when it is full of locals and you start recognizing then as repeat customers as I am.

My brother, my dad, and I came here for lunch before I had to fly back to Texas. We shared the oyster poboy and seafood platter. By the end of the meal, we were stuffed and had leftovers. The poboy was delicious, the food wasn’t toasted enough in my opinion though. Onion rings weren’t good in my opinion, potato salad was awesome, and everything in the seafood platter was good(shrimp was a bit too salty). Service was decent, just a typical poboy place. I would probably revisit this dive if I’m flying into New Orleans again since it’s pretty close to the airport and is pretty satisfying.

This place is the bomb. Patton’s hot sausage po boy on chewy French bread. I come here everytime I visit Louisiana. Just like home! The shrimp po boys are killer too!

Slow service, but worth it once I ate the food! The muffuletta is probably the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely come back here.

Whoa! This is good stuff, here! It’s a complete dive with bare-bones tables and only a TV for atmosphere. But their menu is extensive and the food is fantastic! I only wish they had later hours! Their muffuletta was about the best I’ve had! Their olive tepanade was bit too chunky, but flavorful. The bread was fresh and well toasted and the cheese plentiful and melty. The Oyster po-boy was fantastic, with nicely breaded and crisp fried oysters and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Fries were a good portion, thick like I like them and crisp. Pecan pie was like grandma used to make!(just a smaller portion) You won’t go wrong eating here!

The best hot sausage Po boy in town. The fried chicken livers is also very very good. Really good seafood, And the chili cheese fries for the price is the best

Pure deliciousness! Ok, not much to look at with this place, but the food is fresh, authentic, tasty, and priced great. We came several times while visiting family and we tried everything. The shrimp po boy was delicious, and I don’t even like shrimp! We loved their hot Muffaletta, and crawfish étouffée. Meals cost about $ 10…big portions, so split it and get some homemade dessert with it.

After a bad experience at another place on 8-3-2011. I decided to try this place. Can’t say much about the décor, inside or out. This is a no frills place and all are welcomed. Unlike the place I went to before I found this gem. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which came with a salad and garlic bread. I’m thinking I was going to get your typical serving. I was amazed at the amount of the food I got. Everything was so good. The meatballs were a decent size and the sauce was good. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back. The prices were decent and the service was good also.

Just finished traveling 2,000miles to make it to NOLA, and was up for grabbing a quick bite before heading up to the Red Stick(i.e. Baton Rouge). Unilocal told me there was a Cuban restaurant right next to the airport — I was set… but, I was let down. The Cuban restaurant was nowhere to be found. Back to my Unilocal app, to search«Nearby Restaurants»: :What Caught My Eye On My iPhone Unilocal App: Loading… . . 31. Check In Check Out Deli…1.5 Miles ***** 1 Review : Thanks to Brad’s 5-star Review, he had me at: «Shrimp Po Boy»! And luckily this joint was virtually across the street from where I was parked. I noticed this joint, but it honestly looked like a gas station. It was a little scruffy-lookin’(but like most things in life, scruffy generally does me well). Inside the joint is very basic. Lots of seating, a couple of TVs, a room off to the side with slot machines, and then there is the counter and kitchen in the back. «So, I love shrimp & crawfish Poboys. Which one would you recommend?» I asked. «We can make a half & half for ya,» she replied. «Oh yeah! Boom. Let’s do that!» I came back. I grabbed a seat and watched some Lady LSU Basketball. While I sat there, a few different groups of people came up to the door. I didn’t know it, but I guess I just made it there before closing.(I’m sorry for the suckers that were later, cuz I ended up with some tasty southern grub!) My sandwich came to me wrapped in paper like a gift of hole in the wall goodness. I unwrapped it, smelled it, and then devoured it. The shrimp and crawfish swam around in my pie hole, and they tasted utterly lovely. My sandwich even tasted better with splashes of hot sauce from time to time. So yeah, sometimes jewels just surprise you like this. Strong 4.5 Stars for saving me after a long travel day!

This place is a dump and everything in it says it’s going to suck but it has the best shrimp poboy I have ever had. Get your food Togo and enjoy you might see me doing the same.
