Okay, really SIX stars for the steaks.
Had a flight from NO and needed a bite. The desk at the hotel recommended a place just around the corner. A little loud, a little dark, and not too busy. Typical sports bar. Was EXACTLY the kind of place I would have hung out in not too many years ago. Couple groups playing darts, small pool table and good music cranking.
Had to work to get the waitress’ attention (both to order and to pay). Followed the advice and had the potato salad with the ribeye. Was quite good. The steaks though– oh man… Even better than I could have imagined. The beef was absolutely amazing. No, seriously– AMAZING. Whoever was running the grill was on his game. Totally nailed it. Made sure the cook was tipped and complimented.

I know what your thinking its a sports bar what are the drink specials, food oh yeah wings and burgers right. I ordered a 16 oz monster steak asked for 2 eggs on top sunny-​side up. Boom cook is a Ninja Chef, awesome perfect asked for medium rare and got it. The man got it right to steak should never be seasoned its tender cause you know your fire meets meat ratio. The eggs were perfectly cooked no burned ends the man is a grill master. My friends ordered the wings and burgers and they loved it too. Staff very nice and friendly this place rocks order the steak you will love the tender meatiness of it and man is this thing BIG.

Nice place and friendly people. Cold beer — nice draft selection and choice of bottles. Staff is friendly and attentive. Short oder food choices with the grill/​fryer right next to the bar so you can see what your getting. Only drawback is smoking is allowed inside, otherwise I’d give 5 stars

Some of the best chicken wing ever! My favorite is the Habana ro and mango wings! Beers always cold too!

Besides the smoking that’s allowed indoors the food and the staff are awesome. Would recommend

This place used to be so amazing. During my college years, I went here every single Tuesday for the $ 12 ribeye special. $ 12 for a thick and juicy 16 ounce ribeye with a salad.
Now, the ribeye is $ 16 and not even close the the size or quality it used to be. Still a cheap steak is a cheap steak. But it was thin and fatty and I threw half of it away because it was true fat.
I ordered it to-​go and ate it at home. It was okay enough to satisfy my craving for steak, but it was just that. «Okay.»

Went back today, hoping things had gotten better. Yes the food is still good, and the service improved, but I had to sit and listen to two vulgar men sexually harassing the waitress. Put me off my food, for sure. Ashley needs some support from the owner. No one should have to put up with that.

I have been here a few times when I wanted a late lunch. The wings are good here– rather tasty– I have also had the nachos here which I have enjoyed. The cook was friendly and talkative which I appreciated. The two stars are for the bartender. I ordered another beer which I never got and had to ask the «nighttime» bartender to get me a soft drink since her day counterpart never returned.
Amazingly enough, she did find time to bring me my bill and waited for change which never arrived. I understand regulars do get serviced faster than those who visit occasionally and it seemed she spent most of her time on the opposite side of the bar having a great time chatting it up. Please remember those «regulars» are individuals who started like me– picking a place to visit and if the food and service are good you continue to visit there. I can be a regular JOE and will go there again. I hope the bartender is a little more attentive the next time or I can bring my business elsewhere.

Loved this place! We stopped in for lunch so it was not too busy. The bartender was super friendly and the guy cooking did an awesome job! Loved the Tuna Steak, it was cooked to perfection and literally melted in my mouth. Do yourself a favor, definitely get the baked potato salad! It was AMAZING! Bacon, sour cream and heaven in a side dish! The prices were spot on! Hmm… I think that baked potato salad definitely calls for a second opinion! I loved the atmosphere and their slogan! That is what brought us in! The food and service will keep me coming back!

I highly recommend this place across the board. The food is excellent, the beer is cold and cheap, and the staff is 5 Star. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because you don’t really know what it is from the street because it’s connected to a diner. You will not be disappointed.

great looking bar with excellent bartenders. decent food at a great price. the hamburgers are excellent. drinks are moderately priced and never really a bad crowd! Will be back for more, easy cause i live currently live close which is a plus great location.

Gone are the 16oz Ribeyes for 12 bucks, however still the cheapest and very delicious. The Tavern on Vets is a small duck off with great food and good times. Not many people know about this place but they should. For those staying in the hotel next door, this is a great place to grab a bite to eat, have a beer, and meet some really great people. Just grab a seat at the bar and enjoy.

I have been to this bar several times. I layover here on a regular basis and I love this hole in the wall. Rob was an awesome bartender. The $ 12.95 rib-​eye was cooked perfectly and tender. It’s everything I look forward to in a bar. Good prices, food, fun, sports. Cheers

Though they can’t figure out the staff, the last time I had a steak there we were back in business. The steak was delicious again. You gotta have the right cook and make sure they use the butter! They also charge more for fries now. And even more for sweet potato fries. They didn’t use to do that. :(

What. the. hell. iiiiiiiiiiiiis this place? In good company any place can seem ok, but the surrounding crowd was enough to scare me away after an hour. Granted it was a ppv ufc that night so we may have walked into a rougher crowd. It quickly became a hostile environment when a girl who was ready to throw down because a chair got in her way. How dare you, chair! The bar was quickly overrun with only 2 bartenders and an impatient angry mob. I made a quick escape and avoided eye contact at all costs.

This place is a straight up hole in the wall. With a great group of friends, anything is alright, but I would not advise checking it out alone.
I got more dirty looks and rude comments from drunk locals than I’ve seen/​heard since high school. Yeah.
It was karaōke night and the sound was so loud and so annoying we had to shout over each other to even order food.
That said, the bartender had an amazing voice, sounding similar to Reba McIntyre and she was super fun to watch sling drinks and sing. Our waiter was also super cool and as usual the service and kinsmanship in New Orleans is outstanding.
The nachos I ordered were typical bar fare and kind of gross, but I had no expectations of great food once I stepped inside. My friend ordered the steak, on the suggestion of our hotel personnel and said it was great! So, there you go.
Stiff drinks and very entertaining, if you’re not scurred.

The rib-​eye steak was fantastic with their special spices.
Young guy waiting on our table did OK, but this is a bar, more than a restaurant.
The «barmaids» looked pretty wore out.
The TVs were super loud.
Choice of beers were good.
The crowd was on the edge of rough.
The place looked grungy… the whole place needs a good steam clean and refurbishment.
I doubt I will ever go back.

This is my favorite bar in kenna brah! This is the place to go to watch UFC fights!
Drink a few beers, eat some good bar food, play a few games of pool, and kick back! Loads of fun here. The crowd is always cool and laid-​back. The bartenders are nice and they have plenty of tvs and games to keep you entertained.
