The Catfish is not that good Bayou mub catfish. Its Swai… which means catfish in one of those south asian countries. … basically. Its cheaper. I dont know how they get by buy saying Catfish. The mest of Swai is really jelly like and no matter how long you cook it. It never firms up. Swai vs Catfish. please dont be fooled. Imposter fish.

Look, I don’t know about the previous offer and process but yo my dudes this cheap steak dinner was better than I anticipated or I guess for that reason everyone will say that’s how and why it exceeded my expectations. I expected a cheap sirloin but got a respectable strip. The two sides that come along with the offer were segregated on the menu as «Sides» and«Premium Sides.» I asked about the sweet potato fries and was told they are not hand cut but were quite good. The red beans were equivalent to Popeye’s. I said yeah right with my sorority sisters and went ahead with the the 2 sides accepting the Server’s rec and sure enough they were both worthwhile. I was nervous about ordering Medium Well but the server showed he knew and I questioned will your cook know? Sure enough it was divine and not overcooked. Juice ran from the steak touching the toasted/grilled french bread. Sweet potato fries didn’t need any dip but it would have been nice. The red beans were a la Popeye’s with the flavor and all. The Coke tasted as if it came from a wand in the bar but my word when I replaced it for Sprite — it was a strong and fresh soda. They could take some time to clean, repaint the walls, touch up the place but hey there was a turkey in the parking lot just chilling. Picture posted. There’s an 18% grat added to the ticket based on the price of the steak dinner and that’s fair enough. I hate my party didn’t order more but the server was chill and received a nice tip from the ladies. I must admit I didn’t expect to get full but I did and it was worth my time. Disclaimer: I only went to my table and left. No restroom judging but again the place could be swept well and touched up.

Drinks outstanding, food great, service was out of this world we had Andre as our server. Only in town for the night we had to stay close to our hotel. We took a while to order and he was very helpful and patient. He also acknowledged my children which made them more comfortable to order with him. This place is very reasonably priced for the portions and the service. Next time in New Orleans I know we will go here first.

Nice restaurant. Love the peanuts and the ability to throw them on the floor. On busy Veterans Memorial Blvd is THIS O’Henry’s Food & Spirits. I think they have the best burgers AFTER Port of Call, in my opinion. I mean, I’m a hamburger & fry kinda girl, easy to please & this place gets it. Hamburger, this way, hamburger that way… There are about 8 different burgers, made 8 different ways. I can’t say enough: swiss burger, bbq burger, bleu cheese burger; see what I’m saying? AnyWHO, there’s a great waitressing & waitstaff. Pricing is very fair. It is a family oriented restaurant. Wow you can get adult beverages while you dining, it doesn’t give me the feel of a bar or a bar/restaurant BUT a restaurant/bar… If you know what I mean. Free Burger on your birthday, that’s totally a PLUS!!! This location is nicely placed & readily accessible with ample parking; as it’s a shared parking lot. So in summation: GREATBURGERS, full bar with signature drinks &&&&FREEFOOD on my birthday? Count me in.

Nice that they are open late, looked really nice from the outside, nice atmosphere on the inside. I ordered the crawfish balls appetizer which I must say were damn good and fresh. Their menu states their burger would be the best you would ever try so I ordered the Cajun burger, it was one of the dryest burgers I’ve ever had so that was a big disappointment. The service was good and the appetizer great but the burger killed it

I had the crawfish poboy with seafood gumbo. Wasn’t a big fan of the poboy simply because I didn’t taste anything but the bread and dressing :/

We have eaten at this place many times and we were there today. As for the food, I would give that 4 stars because we enjoy the burger and fries. But the rating today is for the manager’s poor judgement. We were seated in an area where a table near us had a messy floor from the guests before us spilling drinks. Well, the waiter came with a broom and towels and I guess he was trying to clean it up. Then the manager came and asked him to mop the floor. While we were eating our food, the manager came and sprayed a Windex smelling spray on the floor all around the table and proceded to mop. This was done right next to us so the smell of the cleaner overpowered our food and I was not able to finish mine. There was another group of people in the area we were in and I am sure they did not appreciate the manager spraying chemicals while patrons are eating. Poor judgement on the manager’s part. I feel he could have waited until we left the area to clean. There were more than enough tables to seat the guests coming in. Personally, I don’t like anyone sweeping or mopping in an area while I am eating. Don’t think I will be going back anytime soon. I don’t think the manager even thought about us eating while he was cleaning.

First, I want to say that our server, Monica, was so nice and attentive. Its my birthday today so I took advantage of the free birthday steak. Its my first time here and Monica helped me out with how it works. Basically, anything on the menu $ 15.99 and under. I went with the flank steak with side of jambalaya and grits. My boyfriend went with the BBC burger with fries. We also got appetizers, boneless chicken tenders with honey bbq sauce. The chicken tenders were good. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger. On a scale of 1 to 10(10 being fuddruckers), he gives it a 7. When I got my plate, Monica, told me to let her knowif the grits were acceptable. Apparently, its not a favorite. She was right. The grits had a texture of oatmeal and a very faint smoked taste to it. Like nursing home food. She reccomended the cream spinach which turned out to be a better option(with a little salt and pepper). The steak was cook perfectly and tasted fine. It had been cooked in a sauce possibly worchetishire and was a tad bit strong. Jambalaya also ok. After she offered us dessert but we declined from being so full. The area could use a little updating and some music. My overall experience was a good one. Good place to take a lunch break. Prices are fair. Food was decent. Service was super friendly. And I got a free birthday steak. Yay me.

I do not know why this place gets such a bad rap. I think first it should be known that it IS a local place. I do not know why but growing up I always thought it was a chain. Like maybe it was the Louisiana version of O’Charlies’. But that is not the case. It is a local place that has two locations. I mean look, I know the inside is a little gaudy and seems like a cleared out pool hall. But the service is always friendly and extremely fast. If people say from the past that this place was dirty, I have to say, NO Sh*T! i mean their policy used to be that you could throw your peanut shells on the floor. So essentially they told people to throw their garbage on the floor. Then guest would come in and say this is gross. Well to those people I say, know where you are going, and furthermore and more importantly their peanut policy has ended. so you still get free peanuts, but now they give you a little shell basket. So that should shut those people up. Man, this reminded me of how I can hate people. i am guessing these are the same people that say the zoo stinks of poo. Well DUH! sheesh. anyway. The food. The food is good I have to say. Okay okay so they give you a free steak on your b-day, does that mean they are some trashy joint? I don’t think so, so sue me. I think they have some of the best burgers around. Yeah you heard me! I gave Port of Call a crappy review and I am praising this burger. Here is why. First all their burgers are ground Filet. Usually you have to pay at least 15 bucks for that type of cut. Here it is 10. Secondly, I have never had a burger at O’Henry’s that was not cooked perfectly. I cannot say that for most of the burger boom places I have been to through out the city. They have many options for the burger, I usually get the blue cheese burger or the BBC… got I hate that name. I mean really? BBC. Maybe they get a kick out of me ordering it I don’t know. Their seafood is good too! I enjoy their zydeco Shrimp Poboy. the sauce taste like it has pepper jelly in it. It is very spicy, but goes very well with the shrimp. They have a half sandwich and soup combo that I think is a terrific deal. This place has one of the BEST club sandwiches I have ever had! Who Knew?! I did! And I am telling you! Here is a tip, on Tuesdays they have half price burgers and of course they have the free steak on your birthday. Which actually taste solid surprisingly. The Good: the Burgers! The price Steak Fries! Soup and Sandwich! the Bad: The décor could be much better. The ugly: Okay I never thought I would say this, but this place uses TOO much cheese. Wow I just can’t believe I said it! But they do. I mean the cheese is just pouring off the food. don’t get me wrong, I love me some cheese, but this might just be too much! I do have to try and sleep.

I hadn’t been here in over 5 years because, well, this isn’t the place that I think of to go when I want a memorable meal. My family convinced me otherwise. To my surprise, this place has changed for the better! 1. No more peanut shells on the floor I will never understand why this was so much fun for people. It’s fun for nobody! As a former server, I would feel so bad about throwing anything on the floor. I would also think about the rats and roaches that probably danced on top of those shells they missed in the crevices: shudder: 2. Soup and sandwich combos! If there’s something I love, it’s a good soup and sandwich. It’s by far my favorite combo and a lot of restaurants, especially at dinner, do not serve it. They have this at dinner, AND it’s actually good! Their bisque is creamy and filling, and their po-boys are very tasty as well. I think this is about 9.99, which is a steal. 3. Fresh turkey! No slimy turkey here. It’s thick cut and you can tell they slice it there. Their club is EPIC. I can only eat 2 pieces of it because it is so huge. 4. Filet burgers! I’m not a big burger eater, but when I do, it most definitely will be here. Ground filet… need I say more? Also, they have 6.00 burger night on Tuesdays I’m pretty sure. My husband and I had a dinner for around 20 bucks with tip… not bad at all! When you are thinking of places to go out and eat, don’t quickly dismiss O’Henry’s. They probably will surprise you!

Going with 5 stars on my visit. Had a big group here while visiting from the Houston area. No complaints about the food as many different items were orders. Had the best burger I have ever eaten called the«Fungus among us burger» I have eaten many burgers from a variety of places in Texas and this was the best. Give it try and I hope your experience was as good as ours.

Very mediocre food. Spinach dip served with tortilla chips straight out of the bag and salsa straight out of the jar. Grilled chicken was decent, although pretty salty. There’s a neon sign that says«go ahead… throw ‘em on the floor.» Yet, I was told by the server«Oh baby, don’t throw the peanut shells on the floor. That’s what that basket on your table is for.» When I asked the manager why the neon sign was there, he said«The store manager wants it for nostalgia.» Dumb! Our server was okay, however, you can tell her smiles were very fake. We noticed as soon as we were seated that the area was very chilly. When we asked if we could sit by another nearby table(about 10 feet away) our server said«There’s no server. She’s working a large party upstairs.» Again, dumb! The high chairs that were stacked in the corner should be thrown in the dumpster. They were downright filthy. Won’t be back, and definitely won’t recommend.

Ugh. I love the O’henry’s Uptown but this one? Nope. My inlaws were in town and they didn’t want to drive around New Orleans(potholes! Oh noes!) so they picked this one. I called several hours ahead and asked if they could accommodate a party of 8(6 adults and 2 little kids) at 6:30p. They lady on the phone said sure and took down my name. Fast forward to 6:25p. We’re a little early. The hostess tells us that it’s going to be a 45 min to an hour wait. I let her know that we’d called ahead but she has no record of that so we wait. Now this whole time they have a room in the back with several tables just sitting empty. 45 mins pass and several groups of two and three who came after us are seated. Even a group of 6. At the hour mark a man says that they can split our party and seat 6 at the big table up the stairs and seat two at a separate table. At this point we’re all tired of waiting and starving so we go for it. Guess who ends up at the 2nd table minding the kids? Me. Then we order. I order spinach dip as an appetizer and I clearly state that I want it before our meals. I order cheese burgers for the kids and chicken strips for me. That appetizer? It comes with our meals. The cheese burgers? No cheese. The chicken strips I have to send back because they’re undercooked. At this point I just want to leave but it takes forever for our waitress to show up with the bill. As we leave I notice that the room in the back with the tables is STILL empty. Never again O’henry’s on vets, never again!

O’Henrys So I went to O’henry’s last night for dinner. I haven’t been to O’Henry’s in a long time. On Tuesday they have their freshly ground Steak(filet) Burger(2 Toppings) and Fries for $ 6 bucks from 11am till Midnight. Also $ 2 Beer and $ 2 Margaritas. So cant screw up bottle beer so that was good so I went on an tried the $Rita. It was surprising it came in a large glass, but very disappointing on the flavor. I will skip the $ 2 Rita next time. Now onto the Burger, it was good. My 2 topping were Grated Cheddar Cheese and Bacon. It was a nice thick piece of meat allot of cheese and 2 pieces on bacon, dressed. Over all it was a good burger. I still think better flavor burger and deal is $ 5 Monday’s at Applebees.

I’ve lived here my whole life and never made it to O’Henry’s until recently I have made a few jaunts out here. For some reason I was under the impression it was a chain restaurant, but it is very much a local place. Silly me! My first trip was after the Oyster Trail press party where I was given a sample of their fried oysters and pasta = yum! I was impressed enough to give it a try. It’s one of those places where you can throw the peanuts on the floor. I’m still not sure how I feel about this, but apparently it’s the way its always been! So I threw caution(and peanut shells) to the wind and went at it. It was kinda fun sitting there and making a mess. On one occasion I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, the chicken was fried really well. Good crunchy batter. The sauce could have been more spicy, but it still quenched my thirst for a spice kick. On my most recent visit I went with my in laws and it was a Tuesday which happens to be $ 6 burger night. Let me say that again… You get a burger with 2 toppings and a side for 6 bucks. That is the same price as a fast food burger and a way better quality. The burgers were juicy and had a flame broiled flavor. Fries is the standard side that comes with the burgers, but they have a variety of sides to choose from if steak fries aren’t quite your thing.

The place is located right across the street from a car dealership and on the edge of a strip plaza in front of the Michael’s craft store. You won’t miss it their green and yellow sign that you can see from a fair distance away as you approach the place. I don’t think parking is ever and issue here: There is ample space around on the plaza. You can sit inside or outside on the terrace /patio /deck. You take a short flight of stairs up and now you’re sitting outside in the air observing the road. The menu features maybe a dozen of burger choices, with prices hovering around $ 10. Salads, seafood, among a few other things. Burgers is what they seem to be most proud of, and deservedly so. There is even have a special«healthy» section that looks a bit out of place there but I guess some customers demand that it’s there. Oh, well… Being in Louisiana, they have poboys, crawfish, shrimp and other seafood. But they seem to be most famous for their burgers. It’s also one of those southern places where you step on peanut shells as you walk around. I always found throwing peanut shells on the floor charming and fun. Don’t be too surprised to see some birthday parties going on as apparently they take your steak off the bill if it’s your b-day. Beer on tap. Sports on TV. Free WiFi for your phone or computer. And a juicy burger. Hey, that’s good by me.

I decided to cheap out and take the boyfriend here for his free birthday steak. Really, not a bad deal, since it’s a huge steak with 2 sides for free. This is definitely a casual place, but the service was friendly, quick, and overall a pleasure. I really don’t like that the gratuity is automatically calculated into the total when you order a free birthday steak. I mean, I understand why they do it, because people SHOULD tip based on the total with the value of the steak included. However, it puts me, the good tipper, in an awkward situation. Do I not give an additional tip since the 15% is already included? Do I drop a few dollar bills on the table and hope that the waitress doesn’t think I’m being cheap, and realizes that I’m actually bumping it up to 20%? I’m so confused! Oh well. I’ll let that policy slide since I don’t really know that anything else would work any better. The food was good. The boyfriend enjoyed his steak, my burger was really good, and the kid seemed to enjoy her shrimp. I didn’t have high expectations knowing that it’s basically a family-oriented joint with pub-style food and a few TVs with ESPN on. Everything was cooked well and had good flavor. They have some good«healthier» options noted on the menu too, so I may hit up O’Henry’s for a sandwich or something similar for lunch from time to time.
