Order chicken fajitas. No hot plate arrived. Looked more like carnitas, not fajitas. Flavorless. I asked for black instead of refried beans and the black beans were spoiled. When I told the waitress, she just asked if I wanted refried instead and left the spoiled black beans right in front of me. Yuck. By the end of my so called meal, I felt like I was going to be sick to my stomach. Disgusting. Never eat here. Ew.

If you are looking for more authentic Mexican cuisine in Kennesaw, this is the place to go! If you are especially hungry, try the jumbo burrito– I’m an eater and could only eat 1⁄3 of it. All around a great value and experience.

This place didn’t strike me at first with its casual sit in quick service feel, but the food was great. I recommend the flan, very good.

Lunch time visit, great lunch specials n prices. Amount of food was more then adequate, matter of fact I could not finish the burrito supreme. Had to take one star off cause the salsa tasted like straight from can, no seasoning or celantro flavor. Service was fast n friendly so we will be back…

The food is cheap, good, and plentiful — there’s not much more you can ask of from a Mexican restaurant! I have always ordered the Chimichanga with chicken and have never been disappointed. Plus, free chips and salsa that are fresh and spicy. I look forward to the days I have to go to Kennesaw, because I know El Nopalito will be on the agenda.

Great food hidden in a busy strip mall. We got the jumbo burrito and chorizo tacos and they were so much better than we were even expecting. The menu is full of different selections to choose from and great prices. Will be back again.

I don’t know what the people making low reviews are talking about. This place is great! The salsa and queso are really good, I always take note of the few great places for salsa and queso, most don’t have both that are this good! The service was just fine, the guy was quick and attentive. I simply had to look at him from the other side of the room and he came over quickly to refill the chips or get an additional order. The food was really good. Best chile relleno I have had since moving to Atlanta. Granted, it was a mess on the plate compared to the normal stuffed pepper. But the flavor was awesome, multiple blends of cheeses. Most things on the menu are al a carte, so you have to ask for sides and so forth. So unlike some of the reviews who were stunned by this. Read the menu… duh!

I just wanted some tortilla soup for lunch so stopped in here. It’s not fair to rate a place based on soup alone. The soup tastes of bullion or soup base which usually contains MSG. Seems like a restaurant that makes soup every day would just make it from scratch. Otherwise it was pretty good. Big hunks of chicken. A bit too salty but improved with sour cream. $ 2 draft dos Equis a plus. I would come back to try a meal.

Awful Mexican food. Seriously! Drinks are cheap, but it’s not enough to bring me back to this place. Boyfriend and I came in here the night before leaving on vacation because we didn’t have any food in the house. From the parking lot, we could see there were plenty of people in there, but I’m not sure why they like this place so much. The food was mediocre, and overpriced for the quality, and awful presentation. I order a combo plate with a taco, chalupa and chile relleno, but I ended up getting a pile of mush. I’ve had chile rellenos from other Mexican places(like La Parilla) and know what it should look like: a bell pepper fried whole with yummy stuff inside. Instead I got a pile of yellow mush(cheese and breading combined), with a few bell pepper pieces scattered throughout. It was so unappetizing to look at, and it ruined the corn tortilla that my chalupa sat on! My plate was one big yellow mess with a taco on top. The flavors were okay, when I dipped the chips into the plate. Overall, I was really disappointed. Boyfriend got the tacos al pastor and liked them okay. Overall, we don’t have anything to come back for, so we won’t. Also, their salads are basically a bag of shredded iceberg lettuce with the same tomato slices and cheese they serve on the tacos. Don’t waste your money.

It’s honestly just regular Mexican food. I would rather eat at Chipotle. At least there the is good and you don’t have to worry about server. This was just whatever to me

Listen up — I also have been going to El Napolito since 1992 when the AMC was right next door. The same owners work there today and it’s still the best Mexican did in North Atlanta. The margaritas are excellent and the food is still fresh, big portions, and very flavorful. I go to Mexico on business quite often and it’s the closest you will get here in the states. Go eat enjoy. Less than average Mexican food. I went here on a Friday night with my husband. We each ordered margaritas, and they were fine. But the food, yuck! I barely ate anything on the plate and didn’t bother ordering anything else. The rice and beans were so dry, looked and tasted like they both have been recooked several times. I would never go back.

A friend from work suggested that we meet up here after work for drinks… So we did. We ended up meeting around 6 ish, at first we asked to be seated on the outside patio, then later decided to move to the inside because of the windy conditions. Our waiter was an older gentleman with a very sarcastic sense of humor(that I did not find amusing at all). He brought out salsa and chips and then took our drink orders. I ordered the first pitcher of frozen texas margarita and when asked about having salt on the rims of the glasses, for some reason I said, «both» then changed it and asked for one with sugar and one with salt and his response was, «you said both, so it’s not both”(I mean seriously dude –lol). The drinks were really strong(I’m not complaining about that at all –lol –IJS). After the rest of my friends arrived, we ordered another pitcher, but strawberry this time, he brought out only one frozen strawberry drink, my friend didn’t say anything she just ordered another pitcher, she even mentioned that he wasn’t very friendly. I ordered the three grilled taco plate, I was a little disappointed to know that it only came with refried beans and pico de gallo(Im use to also having mexican rice included). The food was just Ok, I don’t think I will be making any special trips. I will say they have some really good cheese dip but I’m not too fond of the the chips, decent salsa … Viva Mexico has me spoiled –lol… I guess all and all we came to eat, relax, get a few drinks and we did. The restaurant has decent seating, and decent restrooms, nothing fancy. It’s located in a shopping center off Barrett Parkway… Look for Bed Bath & Beyond and continue on around and you will run into it next to a hobby store.

3.5 stars which was actually surprising. Went in today and sat at the bar which was basic, the whole restaurant seems basic when you walk in. It isn’t one of those places you want to take someone who you are trying to impress, unless they have been craving Mexican food and your in the area. You walk in and seat yourself and chips and a salsa roja come along right away. Good amount of chips and salsa isn’t spicy but it actually tasted really good. Ordered the chicken fajitas and they were also good, a little burnt but nothing to complain about. Service was great, the guy kept asking if I needed anything and was fast at refilling my drinks. Will come back again…

A solid 3.5 stars. C’mon folks. Five stars? Seriously? El Nopalito is a very casual, good Mexican restaurant located in a Barrett Parkway strip center in Kennesaw. Some have mentioned the lack of a greeter, or someone towards the back of the house, saying, «Sit Anywhere,» from afar. Yup. That’s correct. Service is warm and friendly once seated. Some have commented on the casual, simple surroundings. There are a few TVs adorning the walls, and some Mexican artifacts and pictures. Yup. Comfortable and plain ambiance with the best part being the floor to ceiling windows with a view to the outside world. Proper sweet tea. Mmmmuy bien, ya’ll! You are greeted with commercially made chips and a nice salsa rojo. Not at all spicy, and I didn’t see any Cholula or similar on any of the tables. Request only, I guess. Food is very good, though not great. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. Mexican rice could be jazzed up just a little, as it is a bit bland. Should El Nopalito be on your short list for Mexican restaurants in Kennesaw? Absolutely. Though it is not worthy of the 5-star reviews on Unilocal,it is not deserving of 1 star either. Es sólo un buen restaurante mexicano, simple y llanamente. Sólo guardo real.

Okay people! This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. 1. Chunky… Fresh… Guacamole— Love it! 2. Pollo Loco– Spicy tangy moist chicken served with rice and beans 3. Fast and friendly service– this Mexican restaurant can’t be beat in Kennesaw.
